Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Genetics are out of control these days and not many are putting in the time to stabilize much of anything anymore plus strains are being created from crosses of crosses of crosses and so on... You never know what your going to get with most of these and sometimes old recessed genes come through.

yep. It's one of the reasons I try to run Landrace or as close as I can get to it. They come out far better than the latest rage, even if the names are boring.

I am dumbfounded. Thought maybe my timer messed up, but it's an Intermatic mechanical timer and the time isn't off at all. I saw what I thought was budding but chalked it up to weird growth. The plant has had decent light, started with two Mars 300s and just got bumped up to 3, and it's in a tent that I would never describe as crowded. Also not seeing any weird leaves like it's revegging, so I honestly am stumped.
What seedbank did the seed come from?

Maybe I missed it, but is this sustained flowering, or are u simply seeing preflowering pistil/stamen thingies at the nodes.

I've seen veg plants do this quite often but it typically will manifest for a short time and then go away, nothing like what we see at 12-13 days after flip (pre cat drench conditions, little white spiked fuzzballs).

Not sure how autos work (will they flower to finish under 24/0 or 18/6?) but assuming that is not the case, the flowering you see should just go away if everythign else is dialed in (timers, environment).

I couldn't honestly tell you, was a one time purchase from a random seedbank. I normally use Bonza and aside from their packaging I haven't had a problem.
Who was the breeder?

I have a question for you guys. I am growing out a Green Crack plant. To my knowledge it is NOT an auto. I bought it from a vendor and am pretty sure I didn't order an auto. Now my lights in the veg tent are on when I get home at night, I check everything in there and then when I wake up in the morning they are still on. I usually check them at night and in the morning. Mechanical timer with no issues. But for some reason this plant is budding on 18 hours of light. It does appear to be only on shaded areas, but it's definitely budding. Anyone have experience with this?

My dinafem cheese freebie from herbies did that to me. I let it flower out and harvested it. It was good smoke but I barely got an 1/8 off it. I've heard of certain strains doing that when they get root bound but that wasn't the case with mine. Just a freak of genetics, or not very good breeding is my guess.

Does anyone run mostly indica strains in the kit? I have some seeds in a cart right now and one of them is a mostly indica strain, pineapple chunk to be specific. I have a vision of a large sativa grow and my lone indica strain getting drowned out by tallness. Trying to remember all of the posts I have read, I seem to have read about someone having issues with indica in the kit.

I have 2 lights just for that reason. Since I only grow 4 I have one light over 2 each and when I flower ill throw 2 more all red lights in there. This allows me to grow both indicas and sativas. Just not those giant 11/14 weekers....those are too much no matter what :)

Pineapple chunk is very very good. Very sweet and can definitely tell it is pineapple. She went 9 weeks for us...not in the kit though.

Morning Gaffle...i run mostly Indica strains ...have for almost four years now..in the "kit" No issues with Indicas...or Sativas, they ALL grow fantastic in the kit. When growing them side by side , it's a big challenge , and you ALWAYS have to LST and train them , or they just get too out of hand! Cheers bud, have a great Sunday Gaffle!

Indica strains grow really well in the kit. I run a few...Grape Ape currently. It's an Indica hybrid.

No problems.

I've been running Blueberry, Moneymaker, Afghani with good results. Had an interesting issue with the (supposedly 100%) Afghani this run. Labeled as a "50 day" to flower, I finally had to cut her at day 78! Not done, but smokable.
