Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Got a question...

All during my last grow, I never saw a single pest in my grow room. I now have one or two little flying critters. Smaller than a fruit fly. They moved in at least a month ago. I try to catch and study under the loupe, but they're just too damn fast.

They don't bother me much, and don't seem to be multiplying.

Should I buy a flame thrower now and kill them once and for all? Will they get worse if I don't do something?

Go pick up 3 grenades, open the tent, pull the pins on all 3 grenades, toss them in the grow area and run like a sumbitch. 2 little flies...problem solved :)

It'll be $3.99 for that advice...thank you, have a nice day :)

Hang a couple of No Pest Strips in the tent/room. It will catch them for you and the critters are much easier to study when they're stuck to it! :)

A drone strike would work too... little f'kers wouldn't see it coming.

I keep forgetting to buy the strips when I'm at the store. That's how much they bother me. I forget about them as soon I I close the door.

I was just wondering if they would get worse if I don't get off my lazy ass and do something about them. All I need is some zombie fly apocalypse...

Most pests will get worse - much worse.
They're just waiting for you to do nothing.

Shipping update:

Slowly getting caught up. By week's end I should be all current.

Thanks for your patience, everyone! I bought 250 eight oz. bottles a month ago and they should have come with 250 bottle caps....but I only received 200 bottle caps, so I thought I had all these 8oz bottles ready to be labeled and filled.....but no caps.

So I've been waiting on bottle caps and copper sulfate, both of which have arrived.

Sup yos, couple things to throw past u guys, I'd love to have ya weigh in.

-just used bloodmeal for the first time this round, didnt get it applied till about week 3, everything seemed to take it very well - no burning. Used about 100ml per #15pot along with epsoms of same. ? is, should I re-apply either now before finish, say at week 5 or so? (half my girls are strong 8 week finishers, the other half more like 10)

-second question regards cat drench timing on short runners (56 days, this MK and BD finish quick). Although they seem to get frosty early (earlier every time my execution of the kit improves), I feel that there is a very short window for cat drenches. I tend to not jump the gun here, but have found that as I wait, I quickly get to later in the cycle when the plants are already trying to finish (big leaves dying off, etc). A second part of this is, I tend to water in flower every 2 days, is this fine for back to back cat drenches? Or should I do cat#1, transwater, cat#2, so that the cationic drench spans over a week instead of 4 days?

*another way to think about/phrase this question is counting backward from finish, I guess I'm saying, how much time do we need before the end in order to fully take advantage of the Cat drenches. For example, week 5 comes quick, and if you don't get them done by then, then you do them on week 6 and you're only 2 weeks from the end, which seems like you've missed the window, and somehow by alot...!? From research and the Doc we have learned to watch for when to hit them with the Cats, and be patient, but from this point of view I'm looking at a pretty small window....even 3 weeks till end after Cat seems very little time for the magic to work....!?

*does anybody feed every day in flower? I could easily half the amounts I give every 2 days and double the timing, but it seems like that would keep them too soaked. By the same token no matter how much I soak them(completely), they are always light and thirsty after 2 days. Strategies? Pretty excited, can clearly tell these roots have taken over these pots like never before, they were rootbound as all get out when I xplanted them b4 flip.

Thanks as always DBHB team!

If my cat drench dries too quick I have added plain water in between to stretch it out for a full week. With a long flowering strain like agent orange I have done two cat drenches, one at 21 days and one at 45. I just made sure to leave enough time in between drenches to replenish the soil and also after the second cat so that the freed nutrients could get used up and not leave a gamey taste. It was Graytails wise suggestion and it came out fantastic.

I have added bloodmeal just in the beginning at 1-2 weeks.

Hey, guys/Doc. I have a super lemon haze in flowering, been over a month now and it's starting to yellow up. It hasn't had GE at all in flowering because I ran out. It's had it's two cat drenches and then transplant water since(two waterings). How should I water this next time? Thanks guys!

Super Drench is what I'm thinking. That's what was recommended when mine faded last grow.

Have any pictures?
