Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Smoke report:

Skywalker OG

I harvested the first "tester" plant....well, actually SLOtown did when I was gone....the buds came out nice and dense with a lovely lemon/OG smell and a delightful taste. They are very strong. VERY strong.

I now have 3 more in bloom and will be giving them special treatment with OG drench, WA, Bloodmeal and Epsoms, in addition to all the other drenches, foliars, etc.

The tester plant went a bit flat in midbloom. I was told, "This plant craves potassium, magnesium and heavy nitrogen in bloom." After the first round, I fully agree! So, the next round will be much better.

But what I have in the jar is actually amazing! Smooth as silk, lemony/diesel aroma and a very strong, comfortable effect. It's a keeper! I'm very excited to grow more of this.

Tangerine:

Also harvested when I was away. This plant had a slightly low yield of 2.2 oz. The nugs are small, but dense and well formed. Flavor is a delicate tangerine/mango. It's kinda the "flavored steam" that I used to get a couple years ago, so I believe I can improve on it the second time. It makes fantastic joints, and the effect is pure silk, upbeat, centered, active, and elevating.

Will it replace Colombian? Hmmmm....probably not, but I'll give it at least one more round and tweak a couple things.

Today we start another harvest cycle, beginning with some Paki, and then Ape. Should be colorful and red eyes all around.

Yep. Here's what I have to deal with this week:

If you're looking for sympathy from me, you're not getting any!

Great work, Brother! :bravo:

An Amazing grow you got going! Beautiful...

Peaceful blazing...

Yeah really.

I am jonesing to start a perpetual. I would like frost in my forecast, just much more often. I still have 3+ months before I see anything frosty, BOO! My journal is new so no action happening. I hope to do the DBHBB gang proud! Jump aboard!

I'm looking for a little bit of insight as to when to up pot from a solo. My root system was not fantastic last round so I used solo cups for root bound goodness. After solo it will be 1gal and finally 10gal. Is there anything to look for before up potting?

I've found 2-3 weeks from germination and a solo cup is ready for a 1 gal. pot. Wait until it is dry. Knock one or two out of their cups and see what the root ball looks like. If you don't think it is ready, it is easy to plop it back into its cup. No harm / no foul.

I will buy clear solo cups for next round. Plant in clear then place in my red cups for easy root spotting.

I highly recommend that roots be in the dark. If you want to use clear cups, make sure you can block out light by putting them into another cup or three. I'd tape up a red cup with black tape and use it as a sleeve for the clear ones.

You don't see too many solo cups in my garden for these reasons.

Absolutely. These were removed from their outer covers just for the photos.
