Is there a "best" time to foliar spray? (day before a drench, day after a drench etc.)
I'm always in there at the crack of dawn when the birds are chirping the loudest but wondered if wet/dry soil mattered.
A best time? Maybe!!! I do think the timing of the sprays is something that needs to be examined and studied. I don't have any hard conclusions yet...but it seems to me that spraying about 2 days before a watering is a good practice.
You want the nutrition from the spray to find its way down to the roots....and if the container is wet the osmotic pressure isn't working in favor of this...although the plant manages just fine spraying the same days you water.
Try it out, pay attention, and see what you think.
The difference between good and great is usually nothing more than a bit of extra effort and attention.
My understanding is that the best time of the DAY to foliar feed is first thing in the morning (or, when lights first come on, for us indoor growers!) or late evening. The reason being that the stomata are open when the light is shining, but close when temps go over 80*F. As long as temps are below 80*F and lights are on, you should be good to foliar.
