Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

MMM, your setup sounds eerily similar to mine right now except I'm just in a spare bedroom (leftovers from the 5 kids that USED to live here too, lol). It sounds like the others are on point with the numbers (ffs masonman...:adore: ) and while I've found an acceptable balance, I'm in a similar boat. In my own research, the best option (i.e. best bang for the buck too) would be an inline booster fan on your home a/c duct venting into the room.

It doesn't answer all the questions, but as masonman so eloquently explained, increasing your inlet cfm will make balancing temps/rh a bit easier.

I've considered an off-set room-to-room vent through the wall to the other spare bedroom (see above note) to help balance the pressure and increase cfm. I'm still tweaking after 3 years in there...

MMM...

I had an idea this morning. I try to think of the cheapest, if not free solutions first.

Doc has commented a few times that it's easier to control larger volumes of air.

Is it possible to put a dehumidifier/humidifier outside your grow area? That way the inlet air would be closer to where you need it to be and the additional heat would be spread out to a larger volume of air.

Combine this with adequate passive inlet, and you may get much closer to your goals with very little labor/money out of pocket...

Thanks mm, yeah I can't figure it out......all the ladies(5) last round had just a handful of beans in each one.....prolly 2-3 zones apiece as far as dry weight.......but this strain had the most beans......3x as many.....but it was also next to a other I'm not rerunning.......oh well might never know? It cool all personal and I don't have hundreds........lol

Just to be sure, the black circle is what your concerned with?

Unfortunately, with the new federal laws, which bathroom he/she can use is no longer a good determination of sex! I think which bathroom might depend on whether the plant self-identifies as male or female???

Ya...don't even get me started on that BS. A person was either born with a penis or vagina....pretty easy eh....you go in that one ...and i'l use this one...why do they have to mess with shit like this????????????? FFS!

I don't care one bit if a woman uses the urinal next to me. And I don't care if it's a man, who used to be a woman, or any other combination of gender identity. Don't pee on my leg, don't stare at me, I'll treat you the same way....all is well.

:Namaste:

Gazoo, nice pics .....welcome to the "Mag" . Hope you enjoy your stay...you've stumbled upon a very special place. These growers here know what they're doing , put their egos in their pockets and are even better people than they are growers....you will see. There are lots of awesome journals on the go right now and glad you've found this one. Cheers to ya ....:welcome::high-five:

Gov, to start, I do not have a HVAC vent in this room. The main basement does, but not this room. I do have an approx. 9" X 18" rectangular duct that moves heat and A/C to a room we added on a few years ago. Maybe I could cut a hole in it to bring heat and, more importantly, A/C into the room. Hadn't thought about this until you mention the 'inline booster' (we've done this for the upstairs bedrooms so I know what you're talking about). I'm not a HVAC guy so I don't know if adding a vent as I described would mess things up (in the new room). The duct runs the length of the house (40 some feet) and exits into a two 8-9" round pipes which feeds heat/ac into the new(er) 14' X 24' room. Maybe I could steal a little bit of A/C, eh?

Thanks for the advice!

Good thought, however, been there done that! My current GR dehumid. is about 20 years old. Works well, but puts off a lot of heat. Bought a new 50 pt dehumid. with digital controls thinking it would be more efficient, less heat, etc. Not. So, the new dehumid sits in the main part of the basement, set at 50%. The old (manual) dehumid. is in the grow room. Between the two of them, I can keep the humidity where I want it, but with a unit in the GR there's too much heat.

We live on a peninsular with water on three sides, about 300' from the water. The whole area is sand and the water table is around 12'. We have never had water in the basement, but waters levels are high this year and the basement is quite damp. Normally, temp runs 60-65 in the basement, but with the dehumid. running so much it's in the lower 70s. Even when the A/C runs. That's part of the problem.

Any way to install a window A/C for that room? I've considered that for my space. My bloom room gets its intake air from the ambient basement air, so if I can control that temp and RH, I've won half the battle. And my basement windows are just big enough to get a little A/C unit in there.

We need a HVAC guy for advice on stealing some air from that flue. You might really mess up the airflow to the rest of the house. Is there a return flue nearby?
