Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Mornin Highpo...ya those white tops eh....a lot of us get those ...even Doc. I get them too. They are harmless as far as I know...it's just the chlorophyll that's bleached is all...the gland heads appear normal and I always medicate with them as usual. It appears that during bloom when the tops and certain areas of the buds are in a "hot zone" or a super concentrated area of light. It helps a bit to move them around but in the end it doesn't matter much as it doesn't affect yield or potency....just looks brutal , is all! BTW I grow like you....letting the plants come up to meet the light...makes no difference ...I still get those white tops ....and it's not always the tallest either. I have another light on the way to boost my total light getting to the buds late in bloom so I'm wondering how that will affect them....lots more light comin , so we'le see eh! Cheers eh and have an awesome day Highpo!:circle-of-love:

Help

:helpsmilie:5 week old Bluberry Gum
planed on going into brix soil and off to the flower room in a week or two.
Not to sure any more. Non brix soil, already tried Epsoms and light Stress
started going south 10 days ago, another is getting that way and one more is suspect.

Doc, when is best time of day to test Brix? Also, how far along does one start checking? TY

The important thing about checking Brix is to do it the same way, every time. Pick a convenient time and that's the best time to do it.

I think sugars are highest right before lights on....but I never check at that time because I'm almost never there.

I check brix at each pruning, early veg, pre-bloom, mid-bloom.

Re: Help

HH, may i ask what kind of soil she's in? Have you pulled her out and looked at the roots? I bet they would like some fresh soil , right now....also looks really wet. Cheers .

They are in fresh DrEarth Pot of Gold.
6" hercules root pots. lot of roots seen at the holes.
They got soaked a week ago come to think of it, they should be drier by now.

HH, for lack of a lot of info on her ...if she were mine i would get her in a bigger pot today , with fresh soil. Have you pulled her out of the pot to look at the roots ?

nnnnnOOOOOOOO not that!!!

I took her and the other one out the pots and the soil was way to wet for a week since watering.
It smelled funny too. There were a lot of roots, but not root bound.

You know I love to experiment,
I got as much old dirt off as possible and they are now in the same pots with Brix soil to see what happens.

If they are not flower room ready in two weeks, I will,,,,,I will,,,,,(sob sob) cull them. :rip:

This is one of the new pots I am using, 1gl 6w/7h
A WW in Brix soil in the same pot is doing great

Hash, I've taken seriously sick ugly neglected plants that age and potted 'em up all properly in HB soil and a week later they were unrecognizable. Please come back with pics in a week. This should be fun to see. :slide:

Those pots look cool. Use a lot of Roots and 1 oz Transplant per gallon with 10 mills Tea on Transplant. It will either kill it or kickstart it. Healthy plants in bloom or nothing is what I say.

I know this is a tough question to answer, but I am looking into flowering time for Blue Dream. Sex is showing on both of my plants so it's potential go time. If BD goes 8 weeks it lands on a weekend I am home. At 7 weeks I'm gone. As of right now my 8 week timeline begins on Monday.

EDIT : Helps to ask a question to actually receive a answer...

What is average flower time for Blue Dream?

What is average flower time for Blue Dream?

There are so many factors that come into play when considering such a question.

12/12 or ??. Real Blue Dream (cutting only) or manufactured Blue Dream?

If the breeder says 8 weeks, expect it to easily go 9 or 10.

My BD went 7 weeks under 12/12. At the time of harvest is looked like this. And, "Yes.", my leaves always look like hell toward the end. :(
