Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

You shouldn't have to do anything to it. It should even retain most of its moisture too. When I drench or water, I usually have a pint or so I put in my soil bin every few weeks or so, but I'm also mixing in pruned leaf.

Neiko, check moisture content, and check to see lid is on and temp of area where soil is located it not too low. Too moist and not enough air is not good either. :)

The totes are in my grow room so temps range from about 75 with lights on to 72 lights off (I have a space heater in there right now while the seedlings do their thing). I put a bottle of water in each tote about 3 weeks ago. There is still condensation forming in the totes.

Sounds good! Does the soil smell alive

I swung through Ziggy and took a glance. All grown under 11/13? That intrigues me. I'll have to give the journal,a closer read. My daughter just showed me how to tether my iPhone and iPad together using the phone as a personal wifi, so now I won't have to be seeing double at the end of the day after spending all day at the rehab home staring at that tiny screen.

The 11/13 schedule is supposed to bring out more of the plant's characteristics, which is what I found so intriguing. I'll start reading your journal tomorrow.

This site has kept me from becoming a blithering idiot, spending so much time in hospitals since November.

Sweetsue, here are a couple of pics of my plants, from left to rt..1 is in 2-3 gal softpot, second one in back is an auto of mine JH x Amnesia XXL, yet looks nothing like the other one, which is the biggest plant I have presently. The 3 in the back, L-->Rt is a mexican bag seed. Its in a 2 " peat pot tiered onto a 4" sq, tiered onto a 5 gal plastic rd pot. The plant is maybe 10" tall from top of soil to tip of top bud.
The second picture is a 16 oz red cup tiered on a 5" rd plastic pot. The plant is about 6" tall and its almost a 6" bud :) ..those are not under the Platinums.
Sorry about the upside down one..

Sorry again...the Mexican Bag seed plant is on Rt.

I will run my next grow, ACE strains mostly, under 11/13 from seed again. The regular photo seeds seem to 'Auto' under the 11/13.. They appear to go from seed to harvest in similar time manner as autos.
Plant em, and water em, and feed em, spray em, repeat, harvest em :) .. They grow and bloom without switching light schedules.. Some are cute and cuddly  too

Doc, do you think calyx numbers increase Or they just swell, like fat cells do, in their last days flowering? I ask because i have definitely become more observant of the plants growing habits and abilities, but many of the plants look like they are really bulking on more pistils and calyxes after flipping( once again) with the Cat this week.
I said this earlier today in a thread..
With nutes its like your chasing the grow, with the Kit, youre directing the grow! Its way cool! :smokin:

Cat Drench will cause formation of reproductive structures: calyx, pistil, stamen(males) etc.
Growth Energy will cause everything to grow/bulk up/swell.

The trick is to time everything to take advantage of the plant's natural growth patterns and enhance them. This is what we're all learning to do.

BTW, it's the electrical charge in the soil that does this, not the nutes. It's the ions. Dr. Reams theorized that putting actual electrical current through the medium could do much the same thing.

I was thinking about putting a voltage into a pot.. Run a plant...
I had posted questions about it on another thread a yr ago or so...was kinda laughed at idea.. Thats when wanted to really do it.. Thank you for reminder :)
Better not water it barefooted lol..

Our soil is already a battery....that's what the phosphorus and calcium do....the voltage can easily be measured......but I don't know how to apply a current. I've said I was going to ground the containers to the earth before, but I haven't gotten around to doing it yet.

Couldn't you run a wire from your soil to the ground receptacle in an outlet or power strip? That goes back to an earth ground in your electric panel. May be way off here but just a thought.

I'm just beginning to understand this. I was explaining to Dale that the big difference in your soil is that you actively manipulate the innate electrical charges going on in a healthy soil environment. I find that absolutely fascinating.

Concerning limestone dust, is there a brand that is preferred or any I should avoid?

I read a little about last year.. Called 'earth battery'
Heres an article..
Earth Batteries and Joule Thieves

How cool would that be to test this..place an earth battery on one plant and none on another...constant everything else...:thumb:

The stalks on the plants you guys grow are amazing! Like little trees. :laughtwo: It was one of the things I noticed about my own soil. When I get home tonight I need to pull out the stalk from my first adoptee. I kept the spindly thing because I knew I was going to improve before long. My Buddha and Bomb had trunks rather than stalks too.
