Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

I think that may be the answer he was hoping to find Greytail. Well done. You guys are good.

Yup! I definitely like having people like Graytail on our side! Good on ya bud :)
Thats something id never research because there are "cannabis geniuses" on this site. Its always just a matter of time before someone comes in with a knowledge drop.:)

I really appreciate all the replies to my outdoor grow questions.
I'm sure I will have more questions about drenches and foliar feeding, but for the time being my only concern is about putting kit soil in the ground. Maybe this is a better way to ask (?):
Let's forget about the size of the garden. I do not want to do soil tests or custom amendments. I already have one bale of HP Pro-Mix and will be getting one of Doc's HB kits. I want to grow outdoors. How many plants would be the best use for this one kit when grown outside: 1, 2, 3, 4? Since it works for 6 plants indoors, I'm thinking maybe 2 or 3 when grown outdoors.
Again, much thanks for bearing with me. I'm probably being a PITA, but that is not my intent. I'm excited to try Doc's kit in the great outdoors (even if it is only with a couple of plants). :MoreNutes:

Hey Doc, I have cisterns all around the house that are full. I checked the ppm and ph. The ppms hold around 80 and the ph is 7.2. My concern is that the water had a yellow/browish tint to it. Good? No? Thanks

Since you are only using one kit, a bed of any sorts inside or out doesn't seem to make much sense.

If you want to use 1 kit outdoor, why don't you just follow the destructions and use 6 potted plants. I won't tell the sun and stars that your dirt is in pots if you don't. Maybe cut it in half and use bigger pots since you theoretically won't be able to control the light/finishing, but there are ways of doing so you may have in mind.

If you are trying to fill a big hole outside for HB growing you will want to be on the program you've made it clear you aren't (custom, tested, bulk amended soil).

take my ignorant opinion with a grain of epsom salt.

It works very well outdoors!

If you'll be in the ground, as opposed to in containers, I'd grow 2 or 3.....and dig your holes so they're wider than they are deep.....dig down maybe two feet at the most.

Use "kit" soil in the holes and be VERY generous with dusting with Roots!. You'll have a great harvest! And I'd start with 1 oz. of drench for those two plants and work UP if needed.

What's the cistern made out of? PPM of 80 is ideal, pH is meaningless.

Its red plastic on the outside and the same inside but black. Its more akin to a ship bumper if that makes sense. It has a screen on top to catch leaves and whatnot. The tint is whats worrying me a bit. I know ph is meaningless I just wanted you to know as much as I do. :) merci :)

Perfect! Exactly the kind of answer I was looking for and what I expected. My confusion started with with the 4'x8' raised bed. I couldn't see how one kit would cover that area. But 2 or 3 plants sounds like the hot setup since I've seen them reach 10'+ tall and several feet across.
Thanks Doc. I'll PM you for a kit and get cooking.
Back to your regularly scheduled programming...

Good luck PITA. Will you be running a journal so we can watch with wonder?

Thanks SS! I do plan to journal it. As a new grower it may be like taking a ride on the 420 short bus.

...and my HB kit is on the way!
Thanks to Doc and everyone who took time to help with my ???

doc,

I lived dangerously and went with the third consecutive cat drench on Sunday. It didnt look like it had any effect until i followed up with a mild tea made of kit soil and castings yesterday. Tonight i think i am experiencing dense frost. Im not sure that it was a synergistic effect, timing or imagination.

Anyway 2 questions. 1-would you suggest dosing it with the energy/transplant cocktail like last time ( Sugar punch)?
2-Am i in that same spot where there are like 2 weeks min left?

As always thanks so much for sharing your gift.

Wow! That looks amazing. If you think you've got two weeks, I'd for sure use Growth Energy one time.

That stuff looks great.

Sure does!

My favorite professor used to look over the class on the first day and say, "half of you will be in the bottom half of this class.....my job is to insure that none of you are in the bottom half of this profession."
