Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Wow doc impressive as always. That first plant, purple Cadillac @ week 4? Ridiculous.

Do your plants get a dose of energy after the flip, but before the first cat drench? I'm running 18/6 for veg right now, and I feel like I could fit a dose of energy in week 1-2. Plants aren't ready for the cat till week 4 with 18/6.

When I was using GLR (I'm considering switching back now that I have a separate mother/clone area), the plants were ready for the cat much earlier, surely not enough time for a dose of energy.

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

thanks GT,

I have no idea about specific traits. I do know that this seed and it's male bag companion were the most vigorous seeds I ever cracked.
She was glr'd for a while and then showed pistils with the quickness. She developed the spaced out nodes even under the 500w led. An exciting mystery woman. I hope she stays healthy and aromatic. wonder how long she'll take to finish???

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

The rock powders are the most important thing, along with some biology to eat them.

Do you still recommend nature's own and how do you recommend I use to keep the energy up....do you still recommend the amaze pgr and bloomit foliars???? How should I recharge??? I know your kit takes all of the guess work out of it but that's why I will be getting it after this run. I will be able to afford to get the tools to perfect my environment.

Anything else you recommend I add to my soil to better it for brix???

Doc,they are so nice! How long do you expect the W.N. to go? Looks like she's very ,very Sativa'ish .Leaves so thin and delicate looking:)
Grew some Kali Mist some yrs. back ...reminds me of it.K.M. is about 90% or better Sativa /Indica.One problem with it though...after two tokes ...your'e in GO mode! Like havin ten coffees.Anyhow,i'm gonna be watchin that Willie Nelson.Doc, out of this bunch ,what ones have the highest brix? Just curious ,if they differ, since they're all in the same soil. Brix will be takin off ...or what? Thanks ,and everyone have a great weekend! Cheers.

I use Growth Energy mostly in veg. At time of transplant I use a light dose of Transplant....no need for Transplant water anymore. That usually takes me to week 4.....If they need another feeding in between I'd use Growth Energy, but that usually doesn't happen.

I love Nature's Own....but I don't use it anymore. Go back and read one of my old journals and you can see how I use to do it.

Don't use foliars.....they simply don't do much in the wrong soil.

Perfect. I think I'm really gonna like the new roots product :thumb::high-five:

Hey Duggan,

Willie Nelson is probably going to go 14 weeks. It will be a challenge keeping the soil up for that long, but I'll be topping off with worm castings and might even feed a tea.....thinking about it. 14 weeks is a long time and it's unreasonable to expect the soil to not be depleted, so I'll be adding something for sure....just don't know just yet. As of right now, the plant is very healthy. Sleeps at night and perks up into a delicate, long fingered thing of elegant beauty. I LOVE this plant and have 4 more waiting in the wings. The smell is unlike anything I've smelled ever before.....like papaya and thai basil. EVERYONE who smells it says papaya, unless they don't know what papaya smells like and then they way basil.

As of a week ago, Brix is pushing 14 on Purple Cadillace, holding steady 12 on Lemon Paki......not sure why but not quite as vigorous as they should be. I did spray the clones with a miticide when they were in the plugs. I'll see what happens after the Cat Drench.

Willie Nelson is a steady 15, but is starting to push out pistils and hopefully will stop stretching.....she's perfect in size and shape right now.

I've grown it before and it's a great high. I have a feeling it's going to be electrified in HIgh Brix. The plant is loving it right now.

Ok doc thanks....another thing....when I'm lookin at the water report, what am I looking for...it says alkalinity is 53, hardness 46, total solids 73, sodium 7.27, ph 7.2.....am I good to go???? And would you think osmocote plus is a good addition to my mix and just feed with tea or stick to the mix I already have and just add the teas??? I'm really settling for now until I can afford to do it right....I just want a nice flavor, smell, with bag appeal...I can go for exquisite next time...I just have this already made mix I've been using before I caught hold to your high brix threads. Since I read high brix it seems like any other way isn't worth doing....you've set the bar pretty high.

Ok doc will this get me through...add the rock powders, digest with nature's own, feed fish hydrolysate to keep energy up and foliar occasionally with liquid kelp/seaweed and calcium nitrate or would they not be of use.

Mornin Doc and gang! 14 weeks eh Doc. Have you thought about 10-15 gal. pots? That's only 2 weeks shy of a pure haze at 16 + weeks! Is she in a 7 gal pot now for the duration? Remember your C.G. ,and how she took over things.W.N. sounds a lot like her.I can't wait to follow her along. Should be fun eh?I may have let my MK Ultra's get too big and too bushy, sure glad those two 90w. (dorm gro) red lights will be here today. I'm shooting for over 5 z's each this time, fingers crossed! I still can't measure the brix yet but they look real nice and healthy so far. Top of the day to everyone, and have a great weekend! Cheers from up here in Canada eh! :)

That sounds like good water.....no great water.

As for the rest of your questions, do some reading! It's better to teach a man to fish then it is to hand him a fish already filleted.

Also, if you make a fire for a man you keep him warm for the evening, but if you set a man on fire you keep him warm for the rest of his life. :peace:

Okay well i guess this would be my final question: Would you advise me to follow your soil mix, and feeding regimen when you were growing the strawberry cough in chicken manure mix??? Would you recommend anything I do different based on your knowledge now.........or do you recommend I follow it exactly how you did it then?????

And being that my soil is a bit different and already ammended, should I still ammend with a bit of chicken manure or just use my mix as it is and follow the rest of your guideline????

I know doc....I hope I'm not being a pest. I really have already read through all your brix journals. I just want to know what would be my best option dealing with the soil I already have mixed.

This is my plan as best I could set it from the info I have possed: add rock powders plus azomite to my soil mix, 2 cups of high calcium chicken manure per 4 cuft. I will feed once a week with nature's own with fish hydrolysate added with water only inbetween. Switch between foliar spray with nature's own and liquid seaweed/kelp. Recharge a bit of rock powders, and worm castings at 2nd week of 12/12. Anything else you could add????? Sorry for all the questions in my LAST question...

Your mix sound pretty good with the 6-5-3, azomite, and teas. Ditch the foliars, waste of money and effort. Save the idea for when they'll really work - with the kit!

If you looking to grow some fire on the cheap until you using the kit, I highly recommend osmocote plus

I think your plan is great. Concentrate on the environment and maybe don't feed every week. Maybe just a watering in between.

Oh, and skip the foliars. You'll grow some nice weed.

Hey Doc,Just hung the two Dorm Gro's 90w "all red" ufo led's. With your test of these...what distance is optimal from the canopy? Right now they're at 36" or so.A little lower than the main led panel...on two sides. I'm stoked at the way they have been growing.Internodes so close ,so much vegetation.Very thick! Thanks , and have a great weekend . Cheers:)

I kept them about 22 inches above the canopy.
