Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Rock on Ween ! Never seen that in New Promix. I had a bale in the garage last summer that had a little of that rust coloured dust form at the top. That bale was already opened up and likely not air sealed. I had just folded the plastic over and put a paper weight on it.

I didn’t bother with it too much because it was just a little on the top of the bale. The rest was not affected.

From the picture that seems like more then a little. Hopefully someone knows what it is,

For what it is worth I had no issues using that bale. Ooo extra lumber and insulation boards. Always need those around the garden.

Did the bale have any chance of getting wet or any condensation inside the plastic ?

My house is done! I'm moving in now. There was some left over lumber AND rigid insulation which I asked them to leave. I mixed up a batch of soil so will have close to 3 batches, I used some when planting my pear trees. Anyone know what the rusty looking dust on the pro mix is?

Congrats on the house!
No idea about the rusty dust.......
how ever... I have been warned about purchasing my promix and other soil or soil additives from places like home depot or "canadian tire" for us up northers. Basically big box stores... questionable storing methods.. even stored outside...
Have heard of people bringing home 3.8 cu ft bags and finding pests upon opening..
So some places that cater specifically to grow room needs will actually have theyre warehouse sprayed or bombed on a regular basis to help avoid pest problems

Also guys I’m having a little problems with 3 of my Maui Waui plants.

They have been in the 1 Gal pots for 9-10 weeks now since germination. So roughly 60-70days.

They do pray to the light and have decent leaf posture after any drench. After 3 days they are wilted so the root ball is definitely dense and full weeks and weeks ago.

Foliars don’t help perk them up as much as the drenches. I strengthened the drenches a touch to the tune of 15ml of either TP or GE every drench. I would mix 2.5-3Gal of RO to 15ML of one drench + 2.5ml of tea.

The reason these 3 are in veg so long is because the 4th Maui was started 2 weeks behind these and is just slower to grow it seems. It’s very healthy but not nearly as thick of a main stalk.

1 week ago I added 2 table spoons of fresh EWC to help the soil get more energy. Not sure if this was a great idea but I did it and they seemed happier after that and a Soil top up as the pots lost a bit from dunks.

Here are the 3 older ones now. They have some rusty spots and edges on fans at the lower / mid levels of the plant. Also the bottom fans yellow every few days. Seems like the plant can only support the canopy not the lowers in the current pot size and soil volume available.

Should I bother messing about with a flush + Rescue or just up can them all and let grow them as if there is no problem?

This 4th picture is the younger Maui. She has been very vibrant and healthy since germ. She is Approx at week 6-7 of veg in these pots. The stalk size difference is crazy. I’ll show pics below of stalks.

Above 3 pics are the older Maui’s. Stalks are quite thick for the pot size.

Here is the stalk on the younger Maui. Pic is hard to tell but it’s quite skinny. Around the size of a pencil.

Even the 3.5 week veg Lemon Kush stalks I have going are just as big as this one and it’s been in Veg in the same tent for twice as long !

I’m not that worried just a bit lost as to what exactly is going on with these Maui’s. The 4 Lemon Kush I have are preforming very similar and no issues.

Thanks for looking Gang Hope everyone has a sweet weekend :green_heart:

Will also get a pot up same time as velvet.

My seeds came in and my tent is close to being done. I have to take the filter down it is bending the support rod too much so I am going to set it on the floor and duct it through the top when I find my duct I bought, My stoner brain cant remember where I put it Lol so I will have that done by Tuesday next week and pop 4 seeds then it is off to the DBHBB road for me. 4 plants 2 strains. Gold Leaf and Super Critical Bud CBD. I still have to order the 7 gal. Air Pots before I transplant. So I will soon be asking dumb questions here now and then. I am a Newbie so be gentle Lol :surf:

Right on PC! About the fan. Outside works too but the longer the Ducting is the weaker the air draw will be. You could strengthen the top of the tent to support it. But outside should work good too just keep the Ducting short. Less then 8ft for sure.

Lol don’t worry the Brix Gang are as Gentle as they come :circle-of-love:

Get R Dun! And post the Journal here when its up so we can all follow along and answer your Qs. Enjoy the evening :ganjamon:

Ken...IMO, u should not bother with a RD , 10 weeks in one gal. pots. You have done very well,..it's time to upcan them. They will spring back to life shortly after.

PC......Try and mount that fan/filter as high up as you can. You want it to exhaust the hotter air up top as apposed to the nice cooler stuff down at floor level Ok. Cheers u guys!

Well hell I may just leave it up and try to order another supporting rod to run across the others to support it. Look at the pic of my tent Duggan on my journal and see what you think. What you said and to pull out odder I was going to leave it up but others suggested putting it on the floor. Let me know what you think Duggan you are my go to guy for advice especially with the DBHBB stuff :snowboating:

Yes just cut a dang 2x4 to size or anything solid and ridged and hang the stuff from that if the metal rods are that weak.

Cheers Gang :passitleft:

:thumb:Congratulations on moving in :woohoo:

Thanks Dynamo! :passitleft:

Congratulations, Ween! :headbanger: :blunt:

Thanks Gray! No baby though  :blunt:

Thanks Wrenn! I don't think so, package seemed unopened. It was also in an inside storage, at least when I picked it up. :passitleft:

Thanks Captain! I got it from a medium sized nursery. Stored indoors, at least at the time of pick up. I've heard that pro mix is susceptible to gnats. :passitleft:

WhooHoo...:yahoo:...congrats Ween on moving in...:thumb:...wouldn't worry too much about that rust dust...probably some old fungus,as a result from getting wet at some point...just remove what Ya' can...cheerz...:high-five:...h00k...:hookah:...

Thanks h00k! Too late, I just mixed it all up. I'm sure it'll be fine. :passitleft: or should I pass a Cerveza? :high-five:

What Duggan said but I'll also add, your drenches seem to be on the weak side. Duggan gives 15ml per gallon of water and others that do 1-2ml per gallon of soil work out pretty close to that. itit's really hard to give you advice or suggest you change anything with the amazing results you're having! :high-five::passitleft:

Surprised you didn't also mention the wreak drench. He is giving approx 1/3 of your standard.

Cheers everyone! Have a great weekend! More moving in for me.....

:passitleft:

Yes,...a weeker mix but i would really rather see him get them into proper sized pots rather than chase problems with stronger Drenches in those #1's. Lets face it...he did very , very well keeping them that long in #1's...It's time to get them some fresh soil to play in and stop friggen around. cheers. :high-five:
Also need to mention that my "standard" of 15mls/gal. is for bigger , plants...NOT plants still in #1's.

I want to say a BIG Thank You to Duggan , He has agreed to mentor me through my first DBHBB grow. He is a seasoned DBHBB grower I have seen the results he has gotten with this system for lack of a better word. I trust his judgment to get me through this up coming grow. Once again Thank You Duggan for taking the time and effort to help me along
