Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Nice Babies ween!

Hi Doc and fellow brixfits. :ciao:

A quick photo dump and gratitude drop :thanks: As many have said before me, huge thanks to Doc for the work conceiving of and creation the kit and system. And to my brix support crew - nothin’ withoutcha!

This Bubba Hash from Ace seeds is definitely my best plant to date, in any system. This is night before harvest. I would have like to let it go another 4-5 days, but sometimes life events have to dictate the timing, right?

Oh my....another "newish" grower putting on a clinic. Gorgeous plant! I'd be soooo proud to grow that.... :ganjamon:

Bingo. Get your pots with at least 10 inches of air gap OR a big piece of foam insulation from that floor.

There's your trouble.
Would subflooring work for that?? Its what I have gone to in my basement and really seems to do well at keeping the tent floor warmer, especially with the cooler temps.

Ladies jumped up to the 10’s last night at lights on looking good after a transplant, This garden will be very colorful in the next few weeks :passitleft: First pic is this morning and the 2nd pic was last night at lights on and transplant ! Wow already a noticeable growth! Brix life baby

Beautiful Bubba Hash Amy :bravo:

@ Weenmeoff , Awesome Brotha Ween! Nice looking clones and super stoked to see them thru!

@ Van Stank , the subfloorig tiles they sell at HD and big name dept stores should work well.

I have used them in my parents basement when I finished it for them. They aren’t cheap here in canada at Approx $5-7.50 per 1x1 sq ft tile. But maybe a sale comes.

For a 3x3 tent I would need 9 tiles so Approx $80+ tax.

They did work very well to take the cold off the concrete. I need to also better insulate my floor under the tent in my unfinished furnace room before winter hits.

I’m glad Doc mentioned this. I currently only have a thin 1inch cardboard under my 3x3. I will go buy a piece of that insulate foam and cut it to 3x3 and it should work a lot better.
Cheers Gang. :green_heart:

Another aspect regarding soil temperature is to be mindful of the temp of the water you’re using to give your plants a drink or drench. My filtered tap water and my RO water comes out at 52*F from the spigot, and when I used it, I noticed what appeared as nutrient deficiencies expressed in the leaves. (Leaf margin necrosis, rusty spots, etc). It was never severe enough to kill the plant, but more irritating trying to figure it out.

Now I fill my buckets and leave them in the grow room to use as needed, and they hover around 68-70*F. Seems to me that the plants like this better. There are articles out there that support this, but I can see the difference myself.

68 degrees is the temperature of most soils around the world, once you get a few feet underground.

That's about the right temp for our watering/drenching.

For those of you with enough space, a wooden pallet works great and you can find them for free all over the place.

That's a great idea as pallets are essentially prebuilt sub floors.

My house is done! I'm moving in now. There was some left over lumber AND rigid insulation which I asked them to leave. I mixed up a batch of soil so will have close to 3 batches, I used some when planting my pear trees. Anyone know what the rusty looking dust on the pro mix is?
