Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Hello all,

I have a couple of question.

First question is on light schedule. I notice some do 12/12, some due 11/13, and some different yet. Is the choice of light schedule strain dependent? More dark less light more Sativa? Obviously there are limits, but what about 10/14 in late flower?

Second question is about leaf wash. How often is it used? Once in early veg, then again when up potted? Can it be used weekly if needed?

Maybe this will be my next experiment.

If you already have plants in the pro-mix/EWC mix, you could try top dressing 1st run amendment and roots to get the microbe population going. That may do the truck to get them through the cycle, although they aren't going to be top notch.

Doc may chime in and tell us something different, but barring that, it's probably your best bet if you're wanting to use all the kit tools.

You may want to hold off on doing that until Doc says it's ok. I believe the soil is toxic to plants during the initial cook for a couple weeks as things are being broken down. It's different for recharge because the soil is already established.

I use leaf wash twice in veg....once right after pruning/transplanting....and again right before there are triches. But only if I have insect pressure. If I can't see any signs of bugs doing damage, I don't spray.

There were mites, thripes, and all kinds of bugs struggling to live in my garden. As long as I don't see evidence of them, I don't worry about spraying. Once the brix is up bugs aren't much of an issue.

there are people on this forum who have NEVER had mites using High Brix. that's unheard of!!!

Evenin Eggs...make sure to let the pots get fairly dry/light between waterings while in veg.It will make a dramatic difference in the grow.
While in bloom keep the soil moist ...just don't let it dry out as much. Always give the same amount of water, just adjust when u give it. That way u always know there is enough and you mix the same amount every time, easy , peasy. :high-five:

Thanks Doc, that was what I was looking for.

Curso said the same. Part of it might be due to you living in the frozen arctic....

Hey doc i was jus wondering since i already have most of the items needed to start another kits worth of soil im tryn to save some money. So would i be right in getting first run amendment and some wiggle worm ewc would be all i need to get the soil cooking right? An since im using this other type of promix that has like almost no perlite ill be adding in some of tht as well so would i be safe adding in like 4 gallon of perlite to the whole mix? Idk if using to much will make it to airy or sumthn if tht even is a thing an throw things out of wack lol. Sorry for the newby questions jus wana make this kit work with i can source around me. But yea thanx doc an @Duggan an every1 else as well for helpn me threw my first few grows here. I havnt had better herb then i have since i started using the kit fully.

Water tech #2...…. I believe it I am guilty of over watering for sure, are there other common water technics I should practice? Thanks
Like Duggs said :high-five: In vegg Walt until those pots feel as though they are full of feathers, no set time just have to check them. Some feeds will be faster as they are living growing and get thirsty cheers

Figured id post a pic of the White Alien bud im breaking up right now with alil over a 2 week cure its smelling very stanky with a hint of an earthy tinge to it but turns very danky musty smelling when breaking it up. So here is the HB White Alien with a 18 day cure in the jar.

That was my initial thought. Doc suggested I use 3rd run amendment in place of a second recharge cycle on really long running sativas, a while back, so I would assume that the 1st run should be ok to top dress. Maybe since the biota is already established, it doesn't get the hot cook, when it gets processed.
