Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Doc used to recommend letting the tea bloom for about 10 minutes in water before use. I mentioned it a while ago and he basically said it isn't needed at this point.

High chg :ciao: Welcome to 420 Mag :welcome:

I’ve seen you and heard some of your shows via following newty on insta. Great to have you here and great to have you in here! Of all the methods I investigated DBHBB was pretty close to the most economical, and when you add in the exceptional quality it produces, well, it’s priceless - to me anyway!

Are you journaling? :nomo:

Most member growers have a journal running. Folks will usually have links to their journals in their signatures. Everyone’s journal has pics! :D

I’m fairly new to the DBHBB kit, in my second grow with it - first one outdoors.

Doc often posts pics of his in this thread.

But really - checkout any of the Brix growers threads. In particular neikodog, Duggan, overlord and many, many others.

One way to find journals is to visit the main forum page and scroll down to the grow journals section...

We used to used Epsom on salt loving strains. Doc reformulated the kit though so that it is not supposed to be needed. I used to add 2 tablespoons of it as a top dressing every couple of weeks for salt loving strains but have not used it in a while.
Thank you for the reply. My kit is relatively new so I likely don't need Epsom. Has anyone used Snake Oil that can give me better description than the short marketing blurb?

High brixgirl :)

I’m currently using Snake Oil in an outdoor bed that Doc made me a custom blend for - my soil needed some micronutrients and the snake oil is the prescribed answer for that.

I also know that Archieweedies used it recently (on a Durban Poison i think?) at Duggs’ recommendation. That was 2 doses added to the Brix foliar.

From what I’ve seen on the forum here, when folks use it it is only once or twice at very small amounts as it is very strong.

As for timing in a regular kit grow, I’m not sure. I cant tell you much more - no doubt someone who can will be along soon :)

I haven't grown anything that required snake oil since the formulas were re-done but you want to use it twice in a row before the CAT drenches. Just a reminder, it is mixed 1 part snake oil to 4 parts Brix. Brix is mixed at 1ml/oz of water. If the strain you are growing has a pedigree that looks like a shopping list, it could be a candidate for snake oil, especially if there is OG in the lineage.

Awesome, thank you for that instruction. I'll get it ordered for the next run to see if there is noticeable difference.

I would eventually like to get my outdoor farm into high brix mode once I get a few grows under my belt. I also have cacao, passion fruit, guava, and vanilla orchids growing, as well as plan to start a flower farm. I feel high brix lifestyle coming on!

Hey guys! Had a question.....or a few. Lol. I was wondering if there is ever an instance when a second recharge might be beneficial? I have a Chemdog plant that has gone from looking very lush and healthy to very droopy. She has been droopy for a couple weeks at least now. I’ve let her get dry after the droop started because she looked like she had wet feet. But this didn’t help. I’ve struggled with humidity for the entire grow. This could be it, but the low humidity was there the entire time. Of course she is packing on weight now at around 45 days into flower. Not sure if since she is at this stage now, if the humidity is more of a factor. Tried a light destress foliar with no change. Been brixing every 7-10 days. Sometimes the day after the Brix she looks worse. And then she started getting yellow on the lowers. I’ve plucked the ones that looked like permanent damage after they got crispy parts on them. Just not sure what she wants. She’s received her first Cat and will probably be ready for her next soon. Saw no visible difference in her trichomes after the first. Nugs are very dense and growing though. Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated. Here is a pic from last night.

To much wax, dang.....

She looks real dark green at top, that is strange. I have no idea yet but would like to buy a vowel..... Is she droppy like that all the time? N Toxic maybe. I will be learning here also.

I thought that was a possibility, too. It does remind me a little bit of my Blue Dream (1st kit plant) - and I am sure that was too much worm castings in my mix. I cut that soil with more SPM and ammendment and it’s been great since. I don’t know if that’s at all possible Magoo, Like Meds - I’m learning here also.

What are the temps & RH? Have you tried a Rescue Drench? My (limited) experience with the kit is that, assuming the environmentals are OK and you have no pests, there are typically two solutions that cover most any issue.

If there's some slight deficiencies, a Destress foliar can clear those up. However, when there's more serious issues, it's usually due to the roots not being "hooked up" with the soil and that's where the Rescue Drenches comes in.

Good morning Magoo, yes Krip is very correct! There is no N toxicity. This Chemdawg is a salt loving strain and should have gotten a couple Snake Oil apps along with stronger Drenches of mainly Transplant. I know it's hard to fathom this when some plants look to be doing so well and then just seem to go to shit after mid bloom hits. It's so hard to erase issues , once they have taken hold ...chasing these issues after the fact is way more challenging than avoiding them in the first place. Doing a second ReCharge is NOT a waste of product and will help as well as a SO spray with Brix. The second ReCharge will also help the next batch of that soil too. Also keep in mind , not to use too many EWC's and old roots , leaves and stems etc. in your soil , as too much organic matter messes with the microbial population , making it much harder for them to thrive. Keep in mind things may get worse , before they improve...just the way it is , with these strains.
For your Chemdawg i would give her a Rescue Drench and two SO apps w/Brix. This will help her finish...cheers Magoo.

Hey everyone. I'm about to venture into veggies using Doc's Kit. I know others are doing likewise. I'm adding a few veggies into my next grow. Indoors, LEDs. Would appreciate any advice for the following veggies.

Tomato, Potato, Pole (green) Beans, Snap Peas and Lettuce.

From what I've read Tomatoes and cannabis are grown basically the same. I know Beans and Peas fix their own Nitrogen. Others?

Thanks in advance. Feel free to PM me if you're rather take it off line.
