A Brixy, Happy, Smokey, Tastey and Grateful Christmas to all!

Here's a stoner's version of a Christmas letter, too lazy to send out via snail mail:

The year started off with Legal Recreational Cannabis here in CA. Practically, this meant that it is now illegal to grow more than six plants. At 11:59 December 31, 2017 it was legal for us to grow as many as our doctor's recommended.

We soldiered on with a Medical Liscense. Read more below.

At the same time, Doc Bud's High Brix Blend continues to grow slowly, organically, without much input or marketing and by trying to ship things fast, fix our mistakes, and help people grow the best, for all the right reasons.

The warehouse I've been growing in for nearly a decade is being decommissioned as a grow space and re-commissioned as another cannabis related business that might possibly get my participation, depending. They a long time friends who used to run a dispensary and purchased plenty of High Brix weed from me over the years. They'll be doing high-end extracts by various means. It's quite likely they'll also be granted permission to run a grow-op on the property, which I'll likely consult/help with.

All growing operations (I need to take pics!) will be reconvened in a brand-new grow room, which is being framed (nearly done) and wired as we speak. This will mean I'll limit indoor growing to a veg room and one 4x8 tray in the flower room, with a high ceiling, massive amounts of light, Co2, climate controls.....all the usual stuff. I'm really looking forward to this as the new spot is a great deal more convenient and less expensive than the awesome warehouse.

While decommissioning the warehouse, 2 days ago the lighting in the veg room was un-plugged....so they were dark and cold for 2 days. Uh-oh....these are all my clones and vegging plants of what I consider critical Lemon Paki genetics.

I have them on 24 hours light....already the tops are crispy because all the cholorfill drained out in the dark. (after this I absolutely do NOT recommend an dark period to jumpstart bloom!) The lower half of the plants seem to be doing better. There will be a massive hormone fluctuation and I'll probably get single bladed leaves until everything re-vegges. Hopefully, I'll recover Paki. I'm hopeful but this is new territory.

The bright side is that the timing for such a disaster is 100% perfect. The dark side is that I'm as close to losing Paki as I could ever have imagined......but there's hope.

Everything else is going great! I'm looking forward to the new year!

Thanks to everyone here for being so damned awesome and helping everyone grow the best plant on earth!
Doc and fellow brixers- a belated Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!

Doc, if there’s anyone that can "fix things", it’s you! I’m confident you will work your magic and have that LP back in top shape. I’d echo some of the others who commented on having a "back up" of the LP - just in case. After nearly 30 years in IT, I learned the importance of having a back-up in the drawer, one in a safe and one off-site. Hey, maintaining a strain as significant as LP with a solid back-up protocol is as important as any data set!

Please keep us informed of your progress. Also, I think all of us would appreciate hearing about your set up - lights, gear, etc. - in the new room.

Thanks for all you do. The best cannabis is yet to come!

Looks like a breeze to trim

Hey Doc, did the Clementine get lost?

The following clones of strains are on the verge of extinction:
Lemon Paki
Grape Ape
YOLO
Clementine
Hazelnut Cream

These strains have seed backup:

Hazelnut Cream, Yolo.

I can get Clementine from Crockett pretty easy, so I'm not terribly worried, although my particular cut is pretty awesome. Ditto Grape Ape.....Harborside as the good stuff.

My only real fear is Lemon Paki. Things look good today.

Hope she does a quick reveg for you Doc!

I do too! I do have some seeds of Lemon Paki crossed with a super-dad strain and if worst comes to worst I can hunt for the original in that seed stock.

The big lesson here:

Darkness does NOT improve plant health. These were in the dark 2 days and were such that they could not deal with light, once turned back on. They're starting to show signs of life now, in the lower branches. Tops are crispy.

Any advice on revegging Graytail?

None that would be considered expert. :)

Harvest earlier rather than later, so the hormones don't go too wacky to revert.

Leave at least a dozen or so healthy buds on the lower growth to reveg.

Be careful with rootball moisture. Don't harvest when the ball is either too wet or dry.

Put the harvested plant under a veg cycle, with rather mild lighting until you see new veg growth (within 3 weeks so far for me).

When it's clearly reverted and new growth is vigorous, downcan to a vegging sized pot and grow 'er up big again.

Nutritional needs don't seem to be persnickety.

Pooks....u gettin all this? Cheers and Merry Christmas Pooks and gang!:circle-of-love:

Yeah i'm here and already talked to doc about it. Holiday with the family took me away from this matter but was resolved before leaving so that's good.

It was one of those times where it feels like Christmas, your so excited to open present and start playing with them. The excitement was there.

More promix is getting added to the mixture and ill be picking up more recharge. Like doc said, gotta start off right. Now i have extra soil, someone near me will be getting a gardening lesson along with supplies.
