Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

I will throw this out there too -
I've always had issues with girl scout cookies - due to the weak root system. I've switched to a more indicia leaning gsc cross - with great success. The roots devolop so much better, allowing all that good brix juju to work its magic above the soil.

Lesson learned : if you have a finicky strain, don't fight it. They're so many good breeders to try.

Is it still recommended to do less hybridized strains? Sticking closer to land races when possible for high brix?

Just ask yourself if the strain was developed in a hydro environment or soil. Sometimes you can find out - other times you just guess. A strain bred in hydro will have different nutritional needs. It won't grow a robust root system and it'll need a lot of supplemental nutes because it doesn't depend as much on soil biota - an estranged relationship. :)

Landraces are still related to their soil history, so they love HB soil, but there are plenty of hybrids that excel, too.

"Frankenstrains" typically do better in hydro with chemical nutes 'cause that's where they were born. In HB soil, they'll grow and taste and smell differently than they should.

I checked my bin of soil. Not paper tag. I got a paper tag in my roots bag and my 1st run bag.
Bummed...

Edit: I even sprinkled the 1st amendment bag(“s”) by hand in attempts to even it out on top of mixing.

I noticed with my recharge there was no card either but it was written on the side of the bag with permanent marker which when the bag has the amendments in it it can be easily missed I even missed it at first but then I seen it b4 I started adding in stuff to the soil so ended up fine but yea it mite have been written on the side.
