Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

A big thanks to Doc for your tireless pursuit in creating one of the best growing systems out there, IMO!

AND a big thanks to all of you veteran brixers who helped me get my feet off the ground in the beginning,

I won my first contest this month, thank you for your votes, you know who you are.

Who’s got a grinder? I’ll roll one up!
Your descriptions are mouth watering and the win was well deserved!

... when you know you're smoking the best. :bongrip:

[Edit] My BIL gave us a sample of some good dispensary bud yesterday and I don' even want to smoke it. I already have DevilsCarnival, Carnival, BlueDream, DurBush, BubbaHash and PurpleOrangeCBD of my own to enjoy.

Yes in 2 weeks Canadians will be legal to grow 4 plants per household without medical woohoo. Shipping clones is super easy too. I put mine in a styrofoam cup of moist soil then another cup over top and tape it together and put it in a little box it just fits in and ship with canada post. Works every time easy and is cheap shipping if you keep the box as small as possible.

Hi guys just wanted to share my findings about where to get 1-0-0 “Wiggle Worm” brand EWC here in Canada. More specifically here in the GTA.

I called a Sheridan Nursery in Mississauga. Located at Southdown & Lakeshore. Found out all sheridan nurseries carry this brand.

7Kg bag for $29.99. With no shipping and it being 20-30min from my house this will be my source.

Hope this helps. And thanks Duggan for the tip :high-five::adore:

Will pick up the correct EWC tonight and begin cooking tonight or at worst tomm after work.

High Brix adventures await

Happy growing Fam :circle-of-love:

When it comes to drenches how are you guys tackling this task ?

I have yet to decide how I’m going to dunk four 7gal pots but I can imagine this will be quite the task.

And how often are you guys top watering when not drenching?

I do have multiple bigger plastic tote bins that could work for dunking the 7g pots. My only concern is I might have to mix up 20gal + of mix to be able to fully drench these pots height wise. Then I wouldn’t be able to save his excess liquid mix.

Also I have a 12 X 12 tarp I’m planning on laying out in the basement with a Plastic Pond tub that is around 8X8. And 1-1.5 for deep. Will this work to mix the soil amendments or will I need a bigger tarp/container.

Ok.....first off..you do not need to be dunking...especially 7 gal pots ok!
I have never done that...i always top water....and have had a bit of success with my grows.
If ya really wanna do that....do it with the #1s....its a lot easier.
Once they go into their finals...just top water.Cheers

Thanks Duggan! Whew, I’m totally with you not dunking the bigger pots. I can deal with the 1gals np. :ganjamon:

Cheers bud!

Wrennakken, I use a kiddie pool - approx. 6' dia. x 15" deep. Holds the entire mix - 3.8 cu ft. HP Pro Mix, 30lb EWC, etc. Yours should work fine.

I had the same confusion when I started.

Drench = water with Doc’s products mixed in
Drink = water only
Dunk = dunking the pots in a drench or drink

I too only dunk the ones, and top water the 7’s and bigger pots. In the “Darkscotia apprentices Doc Bud journal”, Doc explains the whole process in detail...a helpful read for anyone starting out.

For those who are farther away in canada I buy my wiggly worm castings from here:
Wiggle Worm Castings 30 Lbs - Grow Mediums - Holland Industry
When I order 6 bags at a time they give me 10% off and flat rate $35 shipping for all six 30lb bags. That's a lot cheaper delivered than the local toronto price quoted above of $29.99 for only 7kg (20lbs) too.
They said they can do the discount for others too.
Hope that helps someone.
Also note holland industry is also in Toronto for next time for you locals..

Thanks for the explanation DLT.

Yeah I’m familiar with DS apprentice Journal. I’ll be pulling up that thread wise I make the steps happen.

You guys rock thanks for the helpful info and your time :Namaste:

I advise dunking in veg....because the wet/dry cycle is critical and the only way to remoisten ALL the soil when it's dry is to dunk and saturate. Takes 1-2 minutes per container or less.

In bloom, please get a nice saucer to set your pot in.....1/2 down the top, the other 1/2 in the saucer when you water/drench.

Use 1 gallon to water the plants in bloom....they should suck it all up in 5-10 minutes.

It's all on the Dark Scotia Thread!

Hey Doc, that’s 1gal water for 7gal pots right? 1.5 for 10gal pots? This has been what I’ve seen most do, just want to clarify, thanks.
