Your descriptions are mouth watering and the win was well deserved!A big thanks to Doc for your tireless pursuit in creating one of the best growing systems out there, IMO!
AND a big thanks to all of you veteran brixers who helped me get my feet off the ground in the beginning,
I won my first contest this month, thank you for your votes, you know who you are.
Who’s got a grinder? I’ll roll one up!
Thanks bud...Doc Buds High Brix or Bust!Your descriptions are mouth watering and the win was well deserved!
Ok.....first off..you do not need to be dunking...especially 7 gal pots ok!
I have never done that...i always top water....and have had a bit of success with my grows.
If ya really wanna do that....do it with the #1s....its a lot easier.
Once they go into their finals...just top water.Cheers
Wrennakken, I use a kiddie pool - approx. 6' dia. x 15" deep. Holds the entire mix - 3.8 cu ft. HP Pro Mix, 30lb EWC, etc. Yours should work fine. When it comes to drenches how are you guys tackling this task ?
I have yet to decide how I’m going to dunk four 7gal pots but I can imagine this will be quite the task.
And how often are you guys top watering when not drenching?
I do have multiple bigger plastic tote bins that could work for dunking the 7g pots. My only concern is I might have to mix up 20gal + of mix to be able to fully drench these pots height wise. Then I wouldn’t be able to save his excess liquid mix.
Also I have a 12 X 12 tarp I’m planning on laying out in the basement with a Plastic Pond tub that is around 8X8. And 1-1.5 for deep. Will this work to mix the soil amendments or will I need a bigger tarp/container.

I had the same confusion when I started.
Drench = water with Doc’s products mixed in
Drink = water only
Dunk = dunking the pots in a drench or drink
I too only dunk the ones, and top water the 7’s and bigger pots. In the “Darkscotia apprentices Doc Bud journal”, Doc explains the whole process in detail...a helpful read for anyone starting out.

Hey Doc, that’s 1gal water for 7gal pots right? 1.5 for 10gal pots? This has been what I’ve seen most do, just want to clarify, thanks.I advise dunking in veg....because the wet/dry cycle is critical and the only way to remoisten ALL the soil when it's dry is to dunk and saturate. Takes 1-2 minutes per container or less.
In bloom, please get a nice saucer to set your pot in.....1/2 down the top, the other 1/2 in the saucer when you water/drench.
Use 1 gallon to water the plants in bloom....they should suck it all up in 5-10 minutes.
It's all on the Dark Scotia Thread!
