Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Can you all reccomend , be honest on a decent led lamp unit that has grow and bloom, blue and red bulbs that can be switched in the color spectrum blue off red on, and a decent price, like $1000.00 is a bit heavy priced when you consider that the technology is on the front of advancement, what I mean is that today it is the state of the art lamp, next week it is worth $100.00 because there's a better lamp.

Q DOC??

Could a Cat drench too early cause a delayed onset of flowers????

3 out of the 4 plants in my tent were close enough and are doing great but i have my silver kush that it seems almost like its not flowering since the drench..... what are your thoughts???

Thanks Doc:Namaste:

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Doc,
My tomatoes, cilantro and MJ have been sprayed on alternate days, 1x so far w/Brix and 2x w/Stress according to instructions.
The leaves ( w cilantro the exception) are almost waterproof to the sprays. The very light spray adheres better to the bottom of the leaves than the tops.
I assume its not an issue and am looking for these results?

Going to get some pics taken and displayed over next 2days or 3. Visiting company, just left :)

Sounds fantastic. The leaves should have a waxy shine to them.

No, I don't think it would delay too much, but it could effect yield. On the other hand, the product should be unique and interesting. It will bud up, but look different.

I did this on a run of Lemon Paki a while back.

Doc, With my newbie hat on, some ?? about the instructions. I hate to admit this, but I continue to struggle with understanding your instructions. (can't wait for the new ones :-) Example. Step Three: Vegetatative Growth. it states" "1) .5oz of E or T in one Gal of water. 2) 2ml of Tea." Further down with two red ** it says, "1 oz of T and 2ml of Tea per gallon of water are used on alternate feedings....." (T water, water, water, E, water, T, Water...

Does this mean to use the .5oz E or T/gal on one of the E and/or T feedings and then 1 oz/gal on the next E or T feeding?

And, is everything you describe based on six plants, in 7 gal pots? How does the statement "a full 4X8 tray" fit here?

And, "for those with irregular gardens... 1 oz E covers 30 sq ft". Does that mean the square footage of surface dirt of each plant? So a 7 gal pot (approx. 14'' wide) would approximate 1 sq. foot?

Again, sorry for being so dense, but I want to get this right! Thanks.

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Does anyone have a chart/spreadsheet that they would be willing to share that keeps track of waterings, feedings, foliar sprays, etc. etc.? I'm trying to come up with a system for tracking all this and didn't want to reinvent the wheel if someone has one they're willing to share. Thanks in advance.

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Doc is it normal for there to be a bit of a slow period after the drenches and should i do energy after the next (just) water? Thanks bro

Yeah, those instructions are messed up.

A full 4x8 tray is going to have 5 or 6 plants. It's also 32 sq. ft. No need to overthink it, but I can see why you're asking, due to some of the ambiguity.

Use .5oz of Growth Energy to feed all 6 plants. Mix 2mil of Tea into that as well, again, for all 6 plants. If you're in a raised bed and it's 4x8, same deal. If you're in a commercial greenhouse and have 300 square feet....use 5 oz. Etc.

Just stick with that, as a rule of thumb: 1/2 oz feeds all 6. It can be increased up to 1.5oz without killing anything, but the results won't be much better. Certain "heavy feeders" can be fed more.

Transplant Water for seedlings and transplanted clones and all transplants
Feed Growth Energy in Veg.

When Transplanting into bloom containers, drench with Transplant Water....and on week 3 or so, use the Cat Drench, 1/2 oz per all 6 plants, etc. Use that twice in a row, then just water. Then Energy, then water, then Transplant, then water.....finish on Energy.

It's not that hard really. The earlier version of the instructions were much simpler, but I had 20 emails a day of people wanting personal lessons on everything. So I tried to write them more detailed, but they are like Chinese furniture assembly instructions now.....so bear with me please!

I've got a lot going on right now, but kits are shipping on time.

I use a dry erase calendar with 4 colors. I keep track of what I spray by writing "brix" or "stress" on the corresponding day.
I write "Lemon Paki 12/12" on the corresponding first day of bloom. If I used a green pen to write that, all other notes for that run of Lemon Paki is in green. So, 4 weeks in I might write "Cat Drench LP" on the corresponding day, or "Epsom OG, GSC" on that day in the color that goes with that run, etc.

I also keep track of which week of bloom it is with the corresponding color, etc.

It's not the only way to do it, but I can view the entire garden schedule forwards and backwards with this method and can plan vacations and time off around harvest windows, etc.

Well, its official! When we all become legal ill be growing in high brix kit soil exclusively! By then i hope to have all the kit knowledge i need to be worlds ahead of the game here in this state. Lets all keep our heads up ladies and gentlemen! We're not ar away :)

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

doc, do you know much about how the soil drench solutions interact with the soil organisms? it is common thinking that "chemicals" kill biology but it's not so b&w is it. are the drenches specifically engineered to be biota friendly? or does HB rely on actively rejuvenating the herd through tea applications?

thanks for sharing

Shes starting Doc. Frosty goodness lol :)

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Her growth slowed since the secont cat drench but shes packing on the resin thats for sure! Ive watered her once since the last cat so next will be energy and then i think she'll start to put on size again. We'll see i guess :)
Like i said before, its so easy its like im cheating. Shes starting to get a nice lemon-pepper scent. The smell is so sharp it kinda makes your eyes water and nose burn lol. Beautiful!!

I've been using the following technique and it seems to work well.

When switching soil energy from neutral/growth to cationic/reproductive apply the drench immediately after a flush.

In your case, the next time you need to water, drench the hell out of the pot with nothing but RO and THEN apply the drench on top of that, maybe with 1/2 gallon of measured feed water.

In other words, let's say you have 6 plants and you mixed up 2.5 mils of Tea with 1/2 oz of Energy in 3 gallons of water for a feeding. Flush them, and as the last bit of standing water disappears below the soil layer, slowly pour on the 1/2 gallon of Growth Energy/Tea.

This helps switch the soil from one to the other better, with less of the previous drench in the pot.

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Ill do that for sure Doc. Should i repeat that process before the next feeding of transplant and so on, as well?

I think it helps. In between feedings we use straight water....why not water a little on the heavy side once or twice in order flush out salts? However, the technique is really best suited for changing the ionic balance in the soil.
