When Doc Bud first posted his bud-washing technique he said to use hot water, but that's fallen out of favor, so the recommendation now is warm or just what comes out of the tap (when it's not freezing out!).Although it's almost a blanch with hot ( not boiling) water and then cold immediately after.
Hectic weather. All is well. Herbs took a real beating but all is well.Crazy storm dude! Hope everything and everyone is okay!
Yes as hot as what comes out the tap. When Doc Bud first posted his bud-washing technique he said to use hot water, but that's fallen out of favor, so the recommendation now is warm or just what comes out of the tap (when it's not freezing out!).
You could just heat with the ceramic heat lamp as is. Get a basking lamp as big as you can. No light just heat . Very efficient. Used them for my lizards for years. In my thread there was a discussion of using the stacked clay pot candle heaters but with a heat lamp, like the kind you get for a lizard enclosure. They come in various wattages and you could stack the clay pots over that. Just another possible method.
I have no idea how much heat they put out though. I was thinking about filling a 5 gallon metal can with boiling water, putting a lid on it, and then pointing a fan at it.
Basking lamps produce absolutely zero light? Because the only time heat would be needed would be during lights out.You could just heat with the ceramic heat lamp as is. Get a basking lamp as big as you can. No light just heat . Very efficient. Used them for my lizards for years.
This is a very interesting idea. I just watched a video on the one with candles and I am really impressed! How would you prevent light issues with a heat lamp?In my thread there was a discussion of using the stacked clay pot candle heaters but with a heat lamp, like the kind you get for a lizard enclosure.
