DIY Stealth Cab, Hydro, LED & Multiple Strains in Small Space - Oh Boy!

Cant go wrong with the bubble cloner! I had 100% success with mine....Rock wool and 2"net cups, only used one bubble wall too, going to use two next time and see if I can speed up the rooting process....

Quix, I agree! I've build two bubble cloners. One is nine sites of 2" netpots and the other is six sites of 3.5" netpots. The only reason I haven't used them lately is that they leave very little room for any other plants in veg. The six-site cloner should squeeze in their with one or two bonsais, though, so I may give it a shot.

WEEKEND PIC UPDATE - 7 NIGHTS OF 12/12

The girls went into 12/12 last Saturday, and they're both doing great. They're definately in their "early bloom stretch" and I'm having to raise the lights daily since, in addition to their growth, I've been keeping the lights VERY close to the plants.

Here's a shot of the flower side of the cab that gives some idea how close the lights are, but I can tell you they're even CLOSER than they look in the pic:

I did the res changes on the Waterfarms this morning and noticed, that in addition to their vertical growth, the root growth has really been impressive (I love that DM Gold Zone - Thanks, H!):

There's a lot of bud sites showing, and I've been doing my best to expose as many of them to the light as possible. The girls are definately looking happy:

Here's a few of the future cola shots :):

One last thing I thought I'd mention is that I realized how full the flower side is again and noticed that you haven't heard me stressing about the space this grow. This is really because I am pretty comfortable that I know what to expect and how to deal with it on this grow.

Since these are clones of the last PE, I have a good idea how big they'll be when they're finished. And, having had a full cab before, I'm pretty comforable that, if needed, I can control anything that gets too unruly. I do anticipate some challenges in moving the plants in & out for the res changes late in bloom, but not worried that the cab won't handle it.

That being said, I'd still love some more space! :)

Happy Harvests!

I hear ya on the cloner, space is a valuable thing, especially when you have very little of it! I gotta say though, you do exceptionallly well with yours! Girls are looking great!

Hey there Mr. Krip!:)

As per your usual GREAT PICTURES! :adore::adore:

What really impressed me is your confidence that you will face all problems with the assurance that it will be old hat to you for any thing that comes up. :bravo:

Thanks, Bro, and you're right on as far as the space!!! Plus, the bubble cloner is kind of a double edge sword, since you can make the cloner smaller to conserve space, but too small and you risk pythium or have to change the res every day or two.

Thanks, OMM! :thankyou:

Yeah, it's amazing what having a little knowledge and a few grows under your belt will do as a confidence booster! :)

I'm definately feeling much more comfortable around a grow room these days, thanks to much help from you and others here on 420; and having the oppotunity to practice what I learned! :high-five:

You may remember many months ago when called a "good grower" I had commented that I was a "knowledgable grower" but a least a few harvests away from being a good grower.

Well, I'm definately getting close now and hoping to squeeze two more harvests in this year, so hopefully by the end of the year, I'll be able to accept the "Good Grower" title! :yahoo:

Your a "Good Grower" in my book!!! always doin an amazing job man!!! i finally posted some pics of my problems, so if you got a minute come check me out, thanks

Thanks, Suka! I appreciate it.

Coincidently, I was posting in your journal while you were posting here! :high-five:

Your ears must have been ringing or something! :)

Lol, I wouldn't know....Apparently I have magic tap water. Never even tested the PH of it let alone adjusted it. Let my 10 gal res bubble for 18 days or so, until I had my best 4 clones rooted, then let the other 3 go another 5 or so til they had roots. No res change, no pondzyme or any of that stuff....Just lucky I guess!?

It looks like you're over feeding. Are you flushing with plain ph'ed water every other feeding? And you don't need special flushing additives, water is the best there is to flush the plants.

Mr. K, you're already a good grower! Keep up the great job. I love how much your roots are growing, very nice.

Thanks, Steve! Yeah, the root on these girls are grownig like crazy! They definately love the hydro!

Quix, a ten gallon cloner would actually last me all week, too, but wouldn't leave ANY room for other plants in the veg cab. The two I made are from something like 2-gallon containers, which still take up a LOT of room but I'd be afraid to go much smaller.

Interesting observation, RFG. What are the signs you see that I'm overfeeding? Also, why, with hydro, would you recommend a plain water flush after every other feeding?

With hempy, many people will water with plain, PH'd H2O every other watering, or so, but I would not call it a "flush".

IMHO, a flush is only needed if there are problems related to nutes/lockout. I would also recomend a flush for pre-harvest, when drastically changing nutes (i.e. going from grow nutes to bloom nutes, or changing brands), or if the plants have been in the same media for extended periods, just to clean out the accumulated salts.

I'm not aware of any regime that would call for a flush after every other feeding, although, I don't imagine it would hurt.

QUICK PIC UPDATE - I'M A DADDY AGAIN!

I went to check on the girls this morning, and when I went to look in on the clone, this is what I saw:

DSCN03923.JPG

Not only is the clone doing fine, but the Power Skunk seed has already sprouted! :)

I just planted her on Saturday, and for anyone having trouble germinating seeds, this is what I did:

1) I soaked the rockwool in PH-adjusted water overnight that had a little DM Zone and just a drop of Superthrive

2) I placed the seed in the rockwool and covered with a humidity dome and put it in the veg cab.

I did NOT scarrify the seed, soak the seed, put it in a wet paper towel or napkin, or use a heat mat - I just put it in some wet rockwool, and that's all!

Here are a couple more pics:
