Sour Deisel & White Rhino Day #28(today 420) in Bubbler tub!! Topped 4 in back sunday & 4 in front yesterday. Been tweaking things a bit. You tell me, is my Kung Fu worthy?

PS- Hard to tell from these shots(top views) but biggest is approx 8" tall.
Happy Grows ~H~:peacetwo:

Plants are looking gorgeous, H! :welldone:

The fan leaves on that (I'm assuming) White Rhino (?) are HUGE!!! :yummy:

I'm also guessing you're gonna veg for at least a couple more weeks, since you just topped 'em? They're gonna be some big plants after 6+ weeks of veg!

Great work, Bro!

Recently I've been able to tell the difference, but not until practicing a lot. ;) I think it's really subtle though. Funny this came up, because I'd been vaping a lot of popcorn bud the last week or so, and thought about the idea of being able to tell the difference. I grabbed a monster cola bud that was nicely mature compared to some of the popcorn buds I'd been dealing with - and noticed the difference pretty clearly. My wife, who didn't know I did this, commented right away that something was different and that she felt it was a bit better bud than what we'd been having. That's an extreme though, I think, and I wouldn't normally notice much difference...

One can get answers to all the mysteries of life right here on 420 :thumb:

Maybe the reason you don't notice the difference in ripeness is that you're stoned at the time??? :tokin:

That really made me laugh Mr Krip!

Not stoned all the time.... but it is a goal of mine :lot-o-toke::lot-o-toke::lot-o-toke:

Happy 420 Everyone!

:Namaste::thanks::thankyou: Thanks K~

You correctly assume, first 3 picks Sour Diesel & last 3 picks are White Rhino. I will veg another 10-17days. Now my real quandary, & it will depend on how tall these get before flip, whether I try the Bushmaster out or not. I also will leave you with a personal recommendation; "Seltzer Water" misting for added Co2, not a myth & not bullshit. If you want to read:popcorn: about whats going on you, know were to find me. :allgood: Happy Grows ~H~

I'm late to the party as usual Mr Krip. :rasta:

That girl is much taller than I thought! Great!

OK, here's my thoughts on partial harvesting. The last two Skunks I harvested had much more amber in the bottom branches, so off they came. It was 4 days later that the colas started getting a bit of amber so then I harvest the rest. I've done this before more than few times. I have never taken the colas first, so
I don't know how that would effect the plant.

Hope you had a great 420 Day!

Hmmmm...interesting that the bottom branches on those skunks matured earlier than the top colas. I'm guessing when you harvested the lower branches, you did take the whole branch and not just take the buds off the branch, right?

If one believes what I read, taking the top colas should also redistribute the auxins to the lower branches and cause the lower buds to swell.

Just a quick note to let everyone know that I'll probably not be posting much in the next 24 hours. Those friends I mentioned many posts ago are coming in today to stay the night. This will be the REAL test of the stealthiness of the setup - 2 1/2 weeks before harvest! :tommy:

On a related note, I discovered some good added odor control. The cab is in a carpeted room, so I put down some of that Glade carpet powder that you then vacuum up, and it really helps. You can walk right in the room and not smell anything, so if they don't notice the noises coming from the room/closet when they're sleeping in the next room, I should be safe! :)

I'll be back ASAP!

Thanks, OMM!

Hi Mr Krip. :)

Your right the whole branch.
Even outside my plants aways seemed to mature at the bottom first. I do remove many fan leaves from the bottom as a matter of course when I grow, so that may cause it. What you read, makes sense too. Guess I should go to the Completed journals and reread some of Mountain High's journals. He knew
about plant circulation and explained it very well .

Mr Krip is busy entertaining guests but I'm sure he wouldn't want his journal sitting idle.

He's entertaining them by making up increasingly improbable stories to explain the sounds and smells coming from the room next door :lot-o-toke:

Ummmm... that's an experimental nuclear powered tomato greenhouse I've been working on, you probably don't want to go in there without a level 5 hazmat suit :yahoo:

Good luck Mr. Krip! You should have offered them the master bedroom and you sleep next to the grow :yahoo:

Blue, I had considered that, but couldn't do it. I have a 77lb. dog that sleeps in bed with me (but, we're really just friends - I swear! :) ) and I knew he'd end up bursting the air mattress if I tried sleeping on it, so the guests got the air bed.

Thanks for the info, OMM...I'll look for some of Mountain High's journals, too!

QUICK UPDATE - WE'RE STEALTH-PROVEN!!!

My friends who came in yesterday just left for the airport with absolutely NO clue there was a grow happening within 20-30 feet of them for just about the entire time they were here. :grinjoint:

In fact, when they first got here, I even gave them a quick "tour" of the house that included the room with the cab (I know...pretty ballsy, huh?).

I just opened the door, pointed out the messy room, then closed the door back up and continued the tour. Of course, I made sure the duct fan wasn't running at the time.

The sounds from the rest of the fans & pumps aren't even noticeable with the 3/4" melamine cab positioned in the closet.

We blend in with our surroundings like the wind! :)

Pic updates coming later today!

NIce man, I've dodged my grow from parents and friends visiting, very nervous but also kinda 007 feeling, IDK. I have to turn off my HID and run 2 14 wat leds and a 20 watt T8 for stealth when I have visitors, I like how your environment was almost unchanged. Your plants are looking real good like always, keep up the good work man.

PIC UPDATE

Tonight will be the 70th day of 12/12 on the AK and 68th on the Haze. If you assume two weeks of 12/12 before flower, according to the breeder's estimate of 56 days, she should be ready tomorrow.

But, I still have a couple more weeks to go, and glad I'm waiting. I checked the trichs carefully on a number of the buds today, and I remembered to turn the LED off first! :)

Right now, there's about 5% clear / 90% cloudy / 5% amber.

Here's a couple of quick pics of what I've been calling the haze's "cola clusters":

All I can say about the AK right now is, "holy swollen calyx's, Batman!"

I'm still not noticing the buds getting visibly bigger from the Overdrive, but check out how huge the calyxes are getting when you see some of the close-ups:

Planning a res change on the haze this weekend, but I won't due the AK until mid-week, then, I'll give her one more week of reduced nutes followed by the final flush.

I also realized another disadvantage of flowering two strains that don't finish at the same time. That is, if I had my way, I would be starting to reduce the light cycle to 10/14 to help boost trich production, but I'm concerned about reducing the haze's light at this point, so no light cycle reduction planned.

Happy Harvests!

K

Great stuff Mr Krip! Glad the visit came off without a hitch.

Looks like she's finally swallowing up some of her pistils too.

I hope we timed her right. It's so hard to decide when 3 weeks before the finish is unless you've grown that same plant and pheno before. Looks like you'll probably be 50% amber at least by then. She's going to knock you on your ass, that's for sure!
