PIC UPDATE
Sorry I was too busy earlier to get some good pics, but was focusing on getting the flush and res change done, then getting done the things I should have been gettinig done during the flush and res change!
I've been talking more about the Waterfarm Haze lately because she's really developing nicely in spite of only getting the "hand-me-downs" for space & light from the AK. She's a real interesting pheno that's got long straight colas, with extremely long (like 6"!) cola leaves:
Rather than a series of buds spiraling up the cola, like with the AK, she's formed these large clusters of buds all around these many branch junctions. When they all fill in and develop, I imagine each cola top will look like a single HUGE bud that's about as fat as a beer can!
As previously mentioned, I did a flush & res change today on the AK that included lowering PPM's, discontinuing the Big Bud, and starting with the Overdrive. There will be one last res change, again lowering nutes, next week, then it's a flush and a water diet until she's ready to harvest.
It looks like her colas are getting bigger by the minute!
Here's some of the bud close-ups that keep all you guys coming back for more!
I do have a question maybe someone can help with...
I've been considering doing two harvests on the AK, taking the larger colas first, then letting the lower bud sites develop more, then harvesting the rest with the Haze.
Everything I read about doing multiple harvests says something like "harvest the flowers from the larger colas....".
Does this actually mean that, if I intend to do a second harvest, I should NOT cut the colas and just harvest the buds off of the colas? Or can I just snip the colas wherever I want, hang 'em, and let the rest mature another couple of weeks?
I may opt against a second harvest in favor of starting the other haze ASAP, since she takes so long to finish, but interested in understanding this none-the-less.
Thanks & Happy Harvests!
