DirtyDanny's 600 Watt LED Grow

also.....do you still have the link for that turn table you got....i would like to check it out for when i am done with these current plants and i get rid of the earth box......dont like not being able to address each one individually:)

Looks like that will do the trick Troy..................:bravo:
Sometimes you just gotta think "inside of the box"................lol
It might help the LED to stay cooler by sealing and ducting the air intake as well (so it can be plumbed to take in fresh air from outside of the grow space) making it a totally sealed system......
Here's the photo -

subd, thought id drop in and check the grow,

very nice, ive been interested in led's for a while but not give them a try yet, i know they have come far over the last few years but they did start off with poor results but as products and diodes improved the lights have really come into their own now, it could even be the future of growing indoors, temps are lower and the spectrum can be controlled slightly more,

at the moment im using a 400 watt dual spectrum hps, so its good for both veg and flower, its doing me ok for now but could do with a bigger light like a 600 but temps are my main issue, if i was using a tent i could run a cool tube or cooled hood but my grow space is roughly 3ft by 3ft and its a brick built clothes drying cupboard and its floor to ceiling high, so their is no option of drilling holes in the walls as theirs just no where to vent, my only option would be to creat a space at the top of the grow space, sort of box off 1ft at the top and run vents into that, the door is a regular house door and above it is a wooden panel, so i was possibly thinking of boxing the wooden panel in so i can run vents into the box then out of the wooden panel as i could cut holes in the panel, id still have enough height for the plants but id be able to run vents out the room then,

temps are not to bad as its not a problem leaving the door open when the lights are on, so im not in any huge rush but if i went with a bigger light then id use a cool tube or hood to get the plants a bit closer, im running the 400watt about 1ft above the plants, slightly higher now we are having a heat wave here, so thats what got me thinking about boxing the top of the cupboard in so the actual grow space would still be taller than a grow tent, i could even run a carbon filter inside the boxed section before it vented out into my apartment/flat

I have got them two autos but with all i have put them thru the auto berry seems like she may have stopped growing:(. Will keep a close eye on her. They are all looking better with the flush and light adjustment:). Looked at that turn table. I am waiting to hear your thoughts after a couple of weeks:)

You wont regret using a "good" led panel.........(ive been told that there is alot of junk panels out there)
I just wanted one for the energy savings.
It has EXCEEDED my greatest expectations.........even though I screwed up pretty bad in the veg cycle of my grow.
I had the panel WAY too close to the plant and she didnt grow vertically much at all......she was only about 12" after 2 months of veg!
She just kept stacking leafs on top of leafs with tighter nodes than Ive ever seen before...... I had to keep defoliating about twice a week!
I have since corrected the panel height and now she wont quit stretching!:thumb:

Anyways......boxing up your cupboard sounds like a good idea to combat heat.....it pretty much sounds like its your only option.
Bust out some framing and drywall......see what you end up with:peace:

Ok Danny.....i finally got done with this thing....now it is a completely sealed system......:) cardboard, duct tape, ducting, one computer fan in junction box to help exhaust, and a lot of patience:)lol

it has been running sealed up in tent now for 30 minutes.....temperature in tent 79.9 and seems to be holding which will be most awesome.....might have to look into some cheap co2 supplement now:)

ok.....2 hrs later....high temp was 86....that is with no exhaust running in tent.....just led sealed system......i think we have a winner.....now to make it out of something more permanent.....was thinking plexiglass and silicone....any thoughts

it runs 79 to 80 in the closet outside tent......there is still a small amount of heat radiating off the leds thereselves......and i am only exhausting the air to the tent every two hours now....the lights exhaust constantly, but still just a little heat if you hold your hand under the light.......however........with the flush and i trimmed the girls back a little the other day....they are starting to come back to life....thanks again for the look out

most tents have the inlet lower down and the exhuast high up, heat rises so taking the hear out the top would be the best option and the inlet at the bottom will allow the cool air to go past the plants,

not sure how you have led's set up im only going off what tents look light so the inlet is usually low down and the exhaust vent is high up so you can run a cool tube or have an exhaust fan higher up,

no no....i can see where you would get that though:)lol.....that box in front with ducting on either side of it with one coming off the top exhaust outside......the single duct in the back that is going to the left of the tent draws air from closet.......i keep checking the modified casing and exhaust duct.....no major heat on either although the exhaust duct is a little warmer.....which i also placed a computer fan in the top of the box in front for the exhaust which helps draw more air through the contraption:)

now my actual exhaust system with charcoal can has fresh air intake on bottom of tent led to back left side under plants......exhausted out the top right side......i think that set up will cause fresh cool air to circulate through the girls with clip on fan also circulating air then pushed up with heat and the draw of the exhaust fan which sucks the whole tent in on itself....had to build a pvc frame to keep it from pulling all the way to each side of the light:)lol.....but now with the led having its own circulation and not having to worry about exhausting through the charcoal fan i am only running the exhaust to charcoal fan every 2 hrs for 30 minutes.......thoughts?

Yep Im aware of the tent venting locations............im refering to his homemade LED light venting system.:thumb:

do you know anything about compost tea....if i am understanding correctly.....it will sustain organic soil without add nutrients......i have a kit to make 20 gallons......wondering if its to soon to water with that next time
