Few thoughts on some recent posts.
Flushing is unecessary if your grow is organic
Fox farms soil will grow plants, however you can make much better soil for much less.
Molasses are used to feed the microbes in organic soil/teas. if your soil is non organic there is little benefit to using molasses.

Reg,I been using FFOF since I started.I love it.I buy 1 bag of that and a brick of GH coco.I mix 50/50 and add a few other thing's but you could go without and have no problem's.I did it because I wanted the bag of soil to stretch and coco worked great for me.I ph as you would soil.

Some also say that FF soil bring's gnat's.Maybe give the soil a good spray with your peroxide mix fluff and repeat a few time's before using.
It's starting to get that time again.I got a few,some how.lol

I will admit the FF soil is the one that I am having the most trouble with about gnats. Everyone warned me that it would be a problem with the MG but I only saw 1 in that whole grow but the cabinet girls got hit heavy with the peroxide spray and have only seen a few since so I will dose the soil before I use it again to prevent them from starting....

Does it have to be real cinnamon or does the saw dust with flavor they sell in the grocery work??

I love the flavor but not so sure I would want to smoke it but I would certainly give it a try....

It won't change the taste of the weed because the essential oil which works to deter the gnats is gone by the time you harvest your weed. Letting the top two inches of soil really dry is also a way to manage them. I've used decomposed granite sand sold at Home Depot in bags as mulch in containers through the years with success. The trouble with this is the weight, but nothing can penetrate this layer of very compacted small sands. One bag will do 6 five gallon pots.

Unfortunately, it has to be real. You can also buy sticks and just crush them into dust on your own. Mortar and pestle or in the blender?
