Lastly the B2B and the Black Russian were watered with 500 ml purified water. I really thought I had killed the Black Russian when I was in my dah spell but she has come back strong. She didn't have a single leaf that wasn't brown at one time and as you can see she has turned completely around.......:circle-of-love:

Only other 3.... AK fluxer, auto WW and Skunk Afghani will be updated tomorrow and that's all there is right now. I think this is about the perfect number for now and think I will wait for the next harvest to pop anything else and that is still a ways off with it only being day 42 for the Green xxxxx and Skunk Afgani but I'm good with that....:yahoo:.....:circle-of-love:

High Dennise :circle-of-love:, I have gotten way behind on reading my subbed journals, been trying to catch up.. seems nothing has changed here..lol, your thumb is still as green as ever or greener...how many do you have growing right now ?

Remember me asking you how.often you watered pro mix.....well I am only watering once a week because of the poor drainage which surprised me, I thought it would be the opposite....I was getting low on my pro mix, the bag I got would fill three 5 gallon pots with some left over.. I was out of pro mix so went to hydro store and the worker advised me to get Sunshine advanced growing mix...haven't used it yet but supposed to drain better than pro mix per worker. I'm sorry if I missed it but are you still using pro mix ??
Another question. Do you ph your water before you water or feed them ??....I haven't been but per clerk
Shoot! Seems like I had another question but forgot...good thing , enough already !!!!! Dennise, thanks for all your help !!:Namaste:

:passitleft: High Granny. So happy to hear from ya.... I have to be honest with ya... I got frustrated with the soilless mediums in general and have gone back to dirt. I plan on still using the Growology nutes but just modifying them to the soil. I don't agree with the saleman that sold you that but since you have it already I would give it a try. You might want to start with just 1/2 strength step 2 to see how they respond and to avoid nute burn and work your way up to where the girls look happy..... I'm pretty sure that one already has some nutes in it kinda like Miracle Grow. I could be wrong but check the bag and see if it gives any N-P-K numbers and if so be real careful when adding more nutes.... I honestly don't know why you were only having to water once a week as I had to water at least twice a week and let them dry way to much on several occasions... (was having some med issues for a couple of weeks and didn't pay attention like I should have)... As far as the pH issue... I have not ever checked it and with the soilless medium you really need to I think which is another reason I have gone back to dirt..... I do use Smart Pots which are made out of a type of eco friendly felt fabric and that helps with the drainage a lot so make sure if you are using plastic pots that you have enough drainage poked in it that the girls do drain well..... I know I am all over that place with what I am doing right now but I have lost my steady footing over the last month or so and trying to find that sweet spot again. I just got a bale of ProMix HP which is the first time I have had the HP and that is the recommended type of ProMix per Growology so I am sure the next round I will try using that if for no other reason... I already have it..... Hope this helps a little.......:circle-of-love:

Granny sounds like the Hydro Guy has your number & up sells you something 'New' & "Better" every time you talk to the guy
Plz ask the forum 1st before buying anything that claimed by a salesman to be way better that what you bought last time .
there alotta people trying profit from older 1st time MMJ growers
pains me to see person like yourself be upsold & buy a product you knows nothing about but the salesman smile .
All the above is IMO & not meant to single out anyone .
sorry didn't mean to hi-jack

Hi Granny, I looked up the product because we used to use thousands and thousands of compacted bales of this for greenhouse production, but it certainly was not as good as what this says it is. They must have gone into more of a product line than they had back in the 70s - 90s. Here is what is in your potting mix Sunshine:

Peat moss and coconut fiber retain water and nutrients for optimal plant growth, combined with increased perlite to provide excellent drainage. The organic nutrient package provides a supplemental charge after three to four weeks and the endomycorrhizal blend enhances the ability of plants to access the nutrients in the root zone.

Balanced: proper pH range to improve nutrient availability

Water Works: organic wetting agent to help soil absorb water quickly and easily

Bio-Active: multiple strains of mycorhizzae for optimum root colonization, improved nutrient and water uptake,
better resistance to stress and disease

No-Burning: inert formula accommodates custom feeding practices with no conflicting nutrients or burn risk
Peat Moss: "nature's sponge" holds up to 30 times its weight in water, keeping it readily available for plant uptake
Coconut Coir: a natural water-holding ingredient providing on-demand moisture

Perlite: maintains air space for optimum root growth

Superior Value: Eco-compressed bales fluff to about twice the labeled volume (1 cu ft bale provides about 2 cu ft of usable soil)

What I don't like is they do not list the ingredients in the mix if it has fertilizer in it already. What is the nutrient package? That's my question. If it's from rock powders and/or natural resources, it looks pretty decent to me. I found it online for 35 for a compacted bale.

Lastly the B2B
DSC075312.JPG
Well now Lady Dee, I've just about given up on my B2B bean. I think that hi-jacked bag of NYC Compost/Mulch mix is headed for the trash. That's 3 beans in a row with decent taproots that haven't sprouted in it. At least the other two beans were ones from a harvested plant of mines. I'll keep you updated to when I'll be ready for that side by side again.

the bold above means it's got a time release fertilizer that can &/or will release a load nutes that you have NO control over .
If one is using nutes at the time of this release the roots & leafs will "CAN" get burnt without a person knowing why
beware on any time release product

It doesn't always mean it is time released. If it does not list the active ingredients on the bag, I don't buy it. Period, the end.
So I agree with what you are saying, sort of.

I just cover it all. No ingredients, no buy.
Yeah some companies use waste products + sewage sludge & call those natural & organic

Yeah some companies use waste products + sewage sludge & call those natural & organic

Is not sewage sludge about as 'organic' as it can get?

P.S. i know it is not(after all some of the stuff I have flushed down the toilet LOL), just making a smart-ass joke :)

GrannyT, how big are your plants? if 5 gallon pots and plants are not big may only have to water every few weeks. I using ProMix in 20 and 25 gallon pots and have to water almost every day, but plants are 5-6 feet tall and bushy.

:passitleft: High everybody... Got an update on a couple of the girls.... The Skunk Afghani 43 days 12/12 under the 48x3w and 96x3w Top Leds in the closet was watered with 1/2 strength step 3 Growology and 1 tbsp cal/mag... She too has been a bit finicky like the Green xxxxx girl and the last 2 times I watered she got 1/2 strength step 3 then plain purified water. Neither one ever looked bad just a little nute burned on the top fan leaves and I thought after cutting it the first time down to 1/2 it would correct itself but it was getting a little worse so I just used purified water with 1 tbsp cal/mag to kinda flush her and she responded very well so going to try going back to 1/2 strength until she looks like she needs more and I will continue to post everything here like I used to instead of skipping so many things.......:circle-of-love:

Okay, that Sunshine Mix is Promix, same exact same thing, probably manufactured by the exact same people. There does not appear to be any fertilizer in the bag at all outside the humus the mycorrhizae usually are carried in.

Human waste sludge products, like Milorganite 5-1-1 is not acceptable under the USDA Certified Organic OMRI standards and practices. Pathogens can and do reside in human sludge and I have only used Milorganite one time and never again. I now know better.

Compost is always going to be the ultimate fertilizer for any plants outside of rare instances of plants which require no OM or very little. Cacti, for example.

There are different kinds of compost. Fungal and bacterial. Both types have both, but you can actually make blends of OM to come up with the exact thing you want. Trees benefit greatly from fungus based composts which come from vegetative materials ONLY. No animal waste is used to develop fungal compost. Bacterial compost does use manures, and different manures for different things.

Sorry I went off on a tangent here. If anyone has questions about compost I can try to answer.

Sunshine Mix, however, does not have fertilizer in it at all.

Also have a little bit on the auto White Widow..... I just don't know what to think of her... She was potted up in her 5 gallon pot somewhere around 7/15 but she is still so small and doesn't seem to be doing much. She looks healthy and happy but just doesn't grow..... She is potted up in ProMix and is being watered with 1/2 strength step 2 Growology and 1 tbsp cal/mag and I am scared to raise the nutes any cause she isn't growing as it is but shouldn't she be bigger than this by now.... She actually showed her tap root on 7/6 and potted and I think she popped her head about 2 days later so she is like a month and a half old....... The next auto I pop will be into soil and that will tell me something I think.......:circle-of-love:

I'm growing 5 gallon smart pots and one 3 gallon.

I also think it may be that I potted her up in the 5 gallon pot and I am not used to seeing them that small in their final homes and I look at them so many times a day...:dreamy:... actually as I looked back at the older pics she has grown quite a bit..... Do they just stay a bit smaller than regular plants???......:circle-of-love:
