Well, I have the sewing machine out, thread, and scissor. Now what? Hahaha.

When we went up to the hydro store yesterday they had the smart pots used for more than what you paid for them!

I have to go watch a few youtube vids how to make them in the different sizes with handles. That's the part I like about them the most. Handles.

Stay tuned.

I'd recommend running the strap ends under the bottom and back up the other side, for maximum strength. :thumb:

Brilliant Gray... Brilliant I say... The Smart pots are just one continuous piece of material but it does seem that your way would make them sturdier...:circle-of-love:

Thank ya, maam. :blunt: That I am. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I'm also competent with a sewing machine, and have thought about making myself some nice custom square bags specifically for my room.

Eco fabric from Joanne's, you say, GF? We have one here - I should cruise on over there. :thanks:

Yes, Gray. At first I asked if they sold eco fabric. She said, no. I said, where is your thickest felt on bolts. She says, oh, over here. She looks at it and says, OH, that IS eco felt. So, it is in the aisle with the thick felt on bolts and they sell it in several colors. I bought the gray because they didn't have black and the gray with thicker than other colors.

I'm making my first one today. A round one. Maybe I should make them square? Seems they would fit better, but I have these oil change pans which fit nicely under a 7 gallon size. Let's go into business making grow bags!

Gray I hope your wife knows how lucky she is..... would you come train my fella for me ..... Apparently I have failed miserably. He pulled my sewing machine out of the closet the other day ad asked me what it was....:thedoubletake:

Sure hope your asking Gray that question cause if not just go ahead and roll down the car window and throw that money right on out cause if I go into business sewing pots we will be broke and tired instead of just broke...lol........:circle-of-love:

Well then, you will just have to be a eco pot sponsored journal and i will have to make them. You sell, I make.
You two wonderful, gorgeous entrepreneurs have your first order. I'm in.

OK just for clarification and so Rico won't get upset with me again we are not really going to make eco pots and sell them. I am retired and plan on staying that way as I like it and to actually have to keep up with something is not even in the realm of a possibility for me.... Now I only speak for myself so any orders you would like to place contact Garden directly thru pm...ROFLMAO....:circle-of-love:

Yeah, she'll be the sponsored journal, so I would have to find a way to become a sponsor and then get everyone to go eco pot! Then, spread to every journal on the Internet(s)! <SEG> Who remembers what <SEG> means? The computer days of old. LOL

But Reggio, you are the first to receive a freebie if you would like.

I like the idea, make a zipper or something in the same real, so you can open it easy for transplanting. Good luck to you. I can test some for you hehe

That is so funny you should say that! I was just looking through my sewing closet and found a bunch of zippers and thought the same thing. Easier to get out. But these are going to be final destination sized.

I'd have to make a blind zipper and this is some very thick fabric.

It doesn't matter anyway. My mother bought me a new sewing machine last year for my birthday. I did open it, but not really. So today i get her out of the box, put it all out with the ten thousand accessories and guess what, no power cord. FOK. I call Amazon and they tell me they can only give me credit for Amazon, but they only one who sells it is an authorized Amazon vendor. I got a credit for the cost plus the shipping too. Phew. But I have to wait to make my bags.
