Dark Matter, Red Sky, Chunky Cherry Thai, BP Skunk In LOS

Congrats on the harvest, Stone. I can't wait to see what kind of yield you get from her. She was a beauty.

Highya SO,

Great work on your harvest! And, of course, great to have ms. Otter handy to fix things! Great work for you both!! I was thinking the same thing about taking down a lady a day late. Today, the one I chopped had quite a lot of instances of budrot. Not big in size, just a lot. So, I thought for next year to listen to gut instinct better!!. Today's lady wasn't sprayed with the microbe solution until the second time. (I think that's why the budrot.) Seemed okay the first spraying. I have one more (Apollo 13) left to chop. And that one was sprayed both times before the rainy stretches, and I haven't seen hardly any botrytis on that one. Glad you're done with the trimming!! Happy Smokin'

What is this microbe solution you speak of? It's to prevent bud rot?

Congratulations on getting that tree harvested before the really bad weather kicks in! And how you did it in one day is very impressive. Last time I harvested a plant that large, it took me 6 days!

That labor of love was 7 hours first day to cut, wash and hang. Then 6 more trimming the next. My buddy Neville was a big help the whole Hazy way!

Highya SO, HG, guys,

HG - Microbe solution is a water environment warmed up to 80 degrees (roughly) adding cooked white rice (some use cooked white potato) and some leaf mold (in the woods - leaves not right on top) into a 1 gal paint strainer bag and a small rock for weight. Wait for 2 days, then apply to plant roots, or leaves. I do the root application weekly, and the leaf application before rainy spells. Check out Jadam's Microbial Solution. Happy Smokin'

A huge congrats on your huge… harvest! Exciting to see you got the blue ribbon pheno too :thumb: and you even got brother Stank to pop in!!

Looking forward to your next round, want to see if that lopsided baby can turn it out. :cheer:
Where's that seed planting song? It'll come.
I always like Tears for Fears - Sowing the Seeds of Love.

Thank you for this, Bode. I have bookmarked it for next year.

Hey @StoneOtter, I have a question and it's pretty much related, lemme know if we need to discuss elsewhere. I got some stuff very similar to 3 and 1 that's an all natural bug spray for your leaves. It has nothing but various oils in it, like peppermint, rosemary, etc...I tested it on a leaf and it's fine. But can you spray this kind of product on your buds too? Or are products like that just for the leaves in veg? It seems there's a lot less bugs when it's bud time for some reason. I see you're doing the make your own thing for next time, but you must have used a product like this on your outdoor girls? Any help? And thank you!!!!

CHECKING IN UPDATE

Happy Saturday! So Wed to Sat = 3 days. It's been 3+ full days hanging at relatively high drying rh. The room started around 72% rh so i opened the door and let the fan blow out into my 64% rh living area. That brought humidity in there down to 70% in one day. I closed the door with 6 inch ajar . That ran for a day. Today the door is closed and rh is 68% in there.

Her buds are getting small now and have a hard layer on the outside. Still pretty wet inside. Another day or two and it's snipping and weighing time! Rolling a fattie up is in the program too! "What me wait?"- Alfred E Otter. Nope I'm going in!
She has a different smell today, maturity or age or something like that. Intrigue to my nose! Very nice!

We're almost done here and on to the next thing, which besides dod-si-dos and Wedding Cake will be @Weed Seeds Express Cannatonic. And others, Peyote Forum, cbd Cream and Cheese, and Runtz Muffin in the 3 x 3 tent. I'll have another journal up for them in a while. Did I mention this? Anyway, fyi.
What a day!

Toodles

Oil is a solvent to trichomes so I wouldn't get it near them to melt away. The only thing I've put on buds is BT, and something for powdery mildew in 2018, I forget the name now. Not oil based! I had good luck this year having only the Mosquito people coming and spraying for skeeters and ticks. I had nothing big to fight off. My leaves were sucked and a few chew holes but not many. There were some fungus gnats but they didn't seem to bother anyone. Next year I want to have something to battle bud rot with! Pop in on InTheShed and see his grow. He's an expert outdoor bug fighter! He's tuned in!

Highya SO,

Glad you mentioned oil and trichomes. I didn't realize oil dissolving trichomes on the plant. It sure could!.

I just finished chopping and trimming the last lady this morning.Had two spots of budrot. She's one that I sprayed (w/water and microbe solution) twice before a rainy spell. The other like her was the same way, very little budrot. The third huge lady was sprayed only once, and was riddled with budrot (albeit, small instances). So, it seems the microbe is somewhat effective against budrot fungus. I'll be using it again next year.

Looking forward to your next journal! Happy Smokin'

Oil will also brown the pistils, which is why I go with Safer Insect Killing soap spray for pests in flower. Spray when the sun is low and let them dry all day. Rinse off the next morning. 1% citric acid spray for PM works beautifully.

LOL showing your age Otter!
Assuming that was the continuation of Otter's answer to me? Thanks, Shed! There's so many pest products is very hard to know what works and what's a waste of coin.

GOOD SUNDAY MORNING UPDATE

Looking around for anti botrytis armaments I got dizzy actually. This paper was interesting though difficult to sieve through. Looks like these folks have tried and liked h202 for botrytis from their summary below. @InTheShed you were onto something it appears with that!

"The application of fungicidal or fungistatic compounds is restricted to the use of vaporized sulphur for powdery mildew control and potassium bicarbonate and hydrogen peroxide applications for powdery mildew and potentially Botrytis reduction. Concerns over possible fungicide residue carry-over in the inflorescence tissues used for medical or recreational purposes has limited the registration of synthetic fungicides."

However it doesn't look good for carry-over to inflorescences (flowers) for synthetics. I'm thinking knf for the win.

I think he said he had tried it for both pm and botrytis and didn't have any luck, but his 1% citric spray does seem to help.
