Dark Matter, Red Sky, Chunky Cherry Thai, BP Skunk In LOS

UPDATE

Hi all, these little monsters are 18 days old today and got a new lease on life. They went from a solo cup to a one gal (probably) plastic pot. My soil's been cooking since April and I've been watering it to keep a growing atmosphere in there. Found a few worms from the Llama compost still wiggling, they went in the new pots. A teaspoon of @DYNOMYCO per gal went in so 8 tsp's. all mixed in well. This is the batch I forgot to amend with epsom salts so 2 Tbsp per the whole batch went in.
Roots, you been lifting? High as It gets about now listening to Herbie Hancock.
The other change is moving the awesome @Mars Hydro tsw2000 out back to her mother lighting area, and getting everybody settled in under the @NextLight Mega.

That leaves us with Lady Neville Haze. She sips daintily from the pot and demands only pure water every now and then. How messed up is that for an explanation? Slow is all I can say about her. And at day 21 of flower has some ok buds. I'm with a mask when down there now so I think she's a stinker. I could smell her through an m95 mask today. Skunkelisous!

Keep at it folks! :green_heart:

Highya SO,

That Neville's Haze has an unusual growth habit, apparently. I've never seen anything like that.

Nice work repotting. And that light should blanket the ladies with nice amount of photons! Your grow tent is set up very well. Happy Vapin'

I don't remember 3 ever mentioned in the book Azi. When I get to flower time I've always been about 2 or 3 weeks into an up pot and have 2 each. I don't use them before the final pot. So I can't understand when he'd run with that unless there's a change in the book since my copy. What we're reading is from Skunk magazine where he writes.
Sorry, should have been more clear. In the book, The Rev says it's important to have equal numbers of spikes, so either two or four, and they should be balanced between growth spikes and flower spikes.

In the article update you posted he says three spikes max since they are so powerful. So, an odd number and, if he still feels like there should be some of each, I was curious which would be the extra spike, growth or flower. Flower probably but didn't want to assume.

Hey Bode, me too. Another member had one just like it. It kind of grew the same way I think. Twiggy.

I don't understand that either Azi. It's a contradiction to his book. Other parts of his skunk articles he kind of leans to not using them at all because the soil's so packed in the first place. That's my take on it anyway. This LOS is flexible, we just need to know where it's ok to change things. I'm sticking with pairs, flower and veg for spikes.

FREEZING NEVILLE'S HAZE UPDATE

Happy Saturday all! Winter won't let go this year! From the poor souls down south freezing to death in their homes, to my small plant issues. Little Neville has been freezing her roots off. I found her soil bag at 61 F today. That explains her not taking magnesium so well looking at her leaves and maybe her lack of leaves in general. Not sure. I am sure she's going to like her heat mats I slid under her ass. I had no controller for them but one for a fan so I'll check the heat output on medium fan speed and see. I know they hit 120F without a controller. I have to do something for her, she's shivering! In spite of all that there's some large buds starting to form now. Here's the setup.

Highya SO,

Better late than never! I had a lot of problems with heat when I grew inside. Gnarly leaves are from the colder temps. Glad you have it fixed! Happy Vapin'

Hopefully the heat mat gets her back into her happy zone real quick!
I checked later yesterday and soil temp was already on the way up! Can't hurt I think.

That root temp was colder than my cellar by almost 5 degrees. I figure being in cloth there was lots of evaporation. Evap = cooling just like we sweat and cool. I bet a plastic pot would have been a better choice this run. Live and learn.

I had problems with critters eating my Stargazer lily bulbs. I make a cage to plant them in now. It's worked great.
I've got two nutzo labs that eat my hostas...been using hog fencing to keep them out. Works great for my giant 'rodents'

That's a sexy harvest Otter! Congrats! Sorry I totally missed your journal up until now. Will catch up once the coffee starts working and I can see straight. Looks like a bunch of new info to crew on in my head <3

Let The Growing
Begin!

Hi all and welcome to my next thing. Earlier I mentioned that I was ready to run a journal that got into some genetics I've been eyeing from the author of the soil book True Living Organics by The Rev. I've been relying on it for my soil. I'm so happy with the soil, I'm trying some of 'The Rev's" genetics. I'd have to guess I've amended some of it 4 or 5 times and as the book said, it is seemingly getting better with time. Living organic soil isn't for everyone, however I find it just right for me. As a rookie I hope to talk with you about soil, roots, actively aerated compost teas, store bought teas, @DYNOMYCO Mycorrhizae, and anything at all plants. Or just why is the sky blue? So join me here and let's learn/grow something!

I started planning for this in the spring when I amended a batch of used soil to cook. Here's what it looks like on amend day at the farm.
All the amendments
Then swirled around for a good mix.
And dumped onto the pile of used soil for shoveling around.
The little ones are almost all up(but for one) and the show is on track.
Enjoy your day folks! I'll be back to focus on the genetics a little more in a while. They sound fun to me.

first picture i was like
woooo some extract in here :lot-o-toke:

second picture i went , why he mix them ??? :passitleft:

third picture , aaaaaaaaaa it's not extract ! :lot-o-toke::lot-o-toke:

Critters eat the weirdest things, I have to be one step ahead of them. Labs, love them! So thanks for cheering along Copper! Enjoy. My lab liked to spin around in a bed of hostas for a nap. I found her up in a half whiskey barrel snoozing one day in them. She looked at me like... what?

UPDATE FOR THE WARMUP PROJECT

Hi all. I got a better temp, in the roots area anyway, today. Just shot their temp and it's 64F. Up from 61, whew! I hope for better health now. Being the nut I am I can say I see it already but I know better and want to think 2 or 3 days to see real results. I see a greener green today I think. We'll see. Turned it up a notch too before closing up.
The Lady Neville with Popsicle Toes

On another front, we have the Bonsai trainers. So far they both are growing well since the root trim and will need a harvest an a few days I think. I used worm castings for the compost in one and my The Revs soil in the other. The worm casting one needs water every day and requires a pool to suck up. When I water it the water passes through it like nothing at all. It's kind of strange. The soil one gets water every 3 to 5 days or so now.
Which brings us to the Black Poison Skunk. This one's about to show sex. Here's a couple of pics. I can't tell yet. You? I can think I see semi complete female parts on both pics. Like there's pods waiting for the 2 hairs to pop out. i don't know.

Happy Sunday y'all! I'm off to hit the refresh button until I get a shot of vaccine. Not holding my breath.
