Awesome looking girl Kushtie
Hi everyone. May I please ask for some advice?
Firstly, my DD is fine. I have a Skunk #1 Auto from Sensi, that at day 47, has thrown out 2 nanners. I gently removed them.
Do I need to pull this plant from my tent or try to keep picking nanners, as and when? I don't want cross pollination....
And we were getting along so well....
Day 57 for mine:
Naners show up from time to time. They will only pollinate that particular bud, IF that. Nothing I worry about too much other than its a sign of stress. For me its usually letting the lady go past her prime time to reproduce. It's actually a sign that you have a healthy plant.
IF all your buds have them it's a genetic issue, if its just here and there, no worries but don't go touching them and then touching other buds.. you will be the pollinator, think like a bee dance like a butterfly! They are not very vigorous and have VERY little pollen not enough to pollinate neighboring plants or even neighboring buds. That said, when you get a few seeds from this they will all be female.
Every once in a while I get a seed or 3 from a plant.... collect and grow. The plant grown from that seed will be just like a clone of the mother plant and be a female. The only difference is the stress that caused the nanner will have influence over the next plant, whatever that may be. You're really on the forefront of genetics here - there's no clear science on why and what comes next other that a 100% copy of the female mother. I actually am happy when I find a seed while trimming... kinda pays for the work just put in.
"Naners" are actually pretty common in Dioecious plants (plants with separate male and female sexed plants) - this is completely different than Hermaphrodites - which have both fully functional male and female parts on the same plant. The "nanner" is not a completely fully functioning male. It's the female reaction to going down to the end without being pollinated, so she gets creative. She's got enough energy to do this which is why I say a sign of a healthy plant. It's also a very good sign - time to chop, or like me I wait it out.
Oh and they will not be more likely to present nanners the next round. <-- = stoner science, there's no facts to back that up.
I've got some nanner seeds going right now and have grown them out in past grows and cloned them! All with "as expected" result.

Here's one of my DD in flower:
Doing a little experiment - this one is in 12ish/12ish flowering along with my other Photo ladies
Here's her seed mate - growing in 20/4 along with other photo plants in VEG - this was a few weeks ago tho.
I grow these all the time. It's soo fun to get me some purple nugs and the meds are mighty fine. I like to pare this bud with a nice old vine Zinfandel mmmmm mmmmm mmmmm. Oh and on a non work night! FTW
I have some Dark Devil in the grinder right now and although it didn't purple, it smells like candy. Absolutely the best smelling cannabis I have grown so far.
How did it smoke?
Good grief Kushtie!!!! Look at the size of her!!! Well done! How much do you think she's going to give you? Rough guess.
I have grown impatient and have finally decided to let a DD seed go for a swim(she's in the darkvoid shot glass). So I went to local hydro shop picked up sunshine mix #4 as I was out of soil and some root pouches otherwise know as fabric pots.
BB, I always get excited when I see you've posted. You have the most beautiful pictures, and you certainly didn't dissapoint today. Thanks for the info on nanners. Haven't come up against them myself. I like the awareness that it's a sign of a healthy plant.
I'll be checking up on your experimental girl. I did my last three under 11/13 light and I'm hoping to get much better yield this time under 20/4. Actually, this one will be the first one I've grown under decent light scheduling. You have all that space and inventory to let you play more.
