I agree that genetics is the culprit. These things compared to my other plants are unpredictable on what the fan leaves will come out as.
Day 82 post sprout. I plan to harvest her on day 85. So this is her final curtain call. Definitely not my best DDA. She's not even sticky to the touch. I don't see any benefit of letting her go longer, but I'm always willing to reconsider.
It’s crazy how different @Hydroholic ’s DDa is in leaf to bud ratio vs yours @beez0404 . Beez’s is almost pure buds. Is it possible that is a result of nutrient systems?
I'm not positive but I think Hydroholic feeds with Mega Crop and the Dark Devils do love their Mega Crop.
But as I said, this is my very first DDA NOT grown in a 5 gallon hempy pot. And those grown in hempy/perlite were also fed Mega Crop and looked something like this.

Yeah your MC girls look a little closer to Hydro’s, but i’d still say your hempy girls have a higher bud to leaf ratio than his. Maybe the green pheno is just a very leafy pheno
Not sure having more leaves makes for a better plant. Maybe order some DDA from Sweet Seeds and give them a shot?
Nooo, it’s not a good thing or a bad thing. It’s just interesting... you know how sometimes you grow those plants out and it takes you forever to trim them cause there are sugar leaves everywhere.. yeah that looks like how Hydro is gonna have it. Where as yours look like very simple trim jobs. Not too much leaf at all. Whether it makes the smoke better or not is impossible to say I think. There are plenty of easy to trim cultivars that have incredible bud to smoke, also true of plenty of cultivars that aren’t easy to trim.

Hi Chef, I just grew 4 in LOS. The're were at least 3 different phenos in the bunch. The two that grew the same really didn't. They had bud structure similar but one plant was smaller main structured. Different smells too.

I agree not good or bad in the differences. I like that each seed is bound to be a little different. My green is super tall 3 foot or better. The other is 2 foot. I watered so I took out the plant for the wife to take a few pics. I can say the plants love the Mega Crop.

My Dark Devil auto comes down on Tuesday. While sitting and watching football I decided to trim up a couple branches. I have no fascination with purple cannabis plants per say, but the DDA has a special place for me. Here is a quick pic of the buds off a couple branches.

All finished trimming my Dark Devil. I trim wet and ended up with 209 grams which should translate to roughly 45 grams dried. So about 1.5 zips.
