Dark Devil Auto: A Community Grow Record

My DDa still looks kinda unhappy. She’s turning dark purple and setting her buds though!

@ChefDGreen From my experience (5 DDA's under my belt) they will continue to stretch and grow a good ways into flowering. I did have one runt that I tried to grow outdoors but I just don't get enough sunlight. I ended up cutting it down and tossing it into the compost pile.

What I want to know is do any of you guys ever get dense buds from your DDA plants? I've had some that were kinda sorta a little dense. A little firmness to the buds but nothing like an indica.

Hey everyone,
here’s my DDa this week. I think she’s actually doing good now. I don’t think her fan leaves will recover, but they’re still working for her cause her buds have grow.

I understand now about her smell... it’s the most distinctive mango. I’m blown away. Even the Mrs was taken aback.

Coming along nicely. I do notice the weird wrinkly leaves already that both my other plants had.

I am so pumped by the pics in this thread! I'm growing my first DD ever and can only hope to achieve results similar to what I've seen here.

Here's my baby at day 6.

*sigh* Read through four pages, picking up quotes as I went, to be distracted by sparkling conversation with a friend and lost all the quotes.

You all don’t need me rehashing anyway. Thank you for helping me keep this passion for DDA alive. These delicious genetics share the throne in my list of preferences with Carnival, and there are times I wonder which I would give up if I had to choose.

@ChefDGreen, your DDA looks fine. She’ll stretch nicely for a while, you’ll wonder if she’s ever gonna fill out, then one day you’ll turn around and think, “Damn! When did she explode like that?” :laughtwo: It happens to me all the time.

Hydro..... over 100 grams from one plant. :thumb: You’re a smart man to have another on the way. Lol! You’ll be surprised at how quickly it goes once friends and family get a taste.

Ask Shed. He knows. :cheesygrinsmiley:

My first was a green one that turned dusty purple in the end. She gave me borderline hallucinations I’ve been chasing after ever since. Lol!

@stoneotter, thanks for sharing the note. I love to hear how much newbies enjoy the perfume, taste, and euphoria DDA offers. :circle-of-love:

And beez..... I’ve seen your plants up close, and it made my heart skip a beat to see your harvest pictures. It flashed me right back to the experience of watching you harvest one during my visit in January last year.

Scratch that pup for me, if you would.

I know I missed someone.... oh yeah!

:welcome: Grand Daddy Black. Brace yourself. You’re in for a delicious experience. We’re glad you chose to share the joy with us. :hugs:

Guys.....you all make me proud. :green_heart:

I started my morning with DDA, and I think I’ll ride that sweet wave for the rest of the day. :slide:

Someone mentioned a concern about the sugar leaves.

Some of the best cannabis edibles I baked were brownies made with DDA, chock full of sugar leaves. I wouldn’t bother trying to trim the sugar leaves off DDA. They’re just as delicious as the buds and every bit as potent, plus they look beautiful curled so protectively around the lovely purple flowers. :circle-of-love:

Just kinda sorta. Not dense in any way.

@stoneotter The DDA plants I grew in a hempy pot had buds that were firmer then the DDA I grew in organic soil. Those in soil were just kinda sorta a little dense. Those grown in hempy and fed with MC produced buds that I wouldn't call DENSE per say, but they had some modest firmness to them. The upper buds weren't fluffy, but not rock hard either. They were tweeners.

I noticed MC users and hydro growers had different experiences than me in soil. Pretty interesting. The bud is still good, though prehistoric looking.

The entire plant experience with DDA made me think of them as somewhat feral. :laughtwo:

Beez, your DDA buds were even more dense than any I grew, and I also noticed that my hempy buds were more dense than my soil ones.

From the beginning I’ve expressed to interested growers to set aside what you expect as compared to other strains. Fluffy flower buds or not you won’t find this delicious euphoric experience anywhere else. Once you grow one and try for yourself you’ll understand the obsession we all live with. :laughtwo:

And yes, I’m enjoying my day fueled by DDA. :battingeyelashes:

Big difference from Wednesday! Is that new growth the skinny leaves that indicate the start of pistils in an auto?
Think it’s way to early for that. Looks like it’s trying to throw 6 new leafs at the same time.
