Dark Devil Auto: A Community Grow Record

Nice budsicles dynamo! I've seen breeder versions look identical to those so I wonder if there will be a big difference. Or just a random assortment :hmmmm:
Thanks Shed, I'm still hunting for a BIG DDA, but I do so love the smoke and high :thumb:so I just plant a few more to make up the difference. I have a couple originals just started, they are in big pots and may be destined for reversal depending on how they do.:theband:

I'm still hunting for a BIG DDA

Not exactly DDA, but their "Red Family" contains four other strains which are either crosses or siblings of Dark Devil Auto, and some of them look like they're pretty sizable for autos:

TS I'm kinda cheap, I've only bought seeds 5 times including 1$ seeds off Craigslist before they cracked down on it.:thedoubletake: I just planted my last two out of five original DDA seeds I bought a couple years ago. I am enjoying exploring DDA genetics, I had two DD plants that didn't Auto last time around and I've a couple beautifully structured clones and some seeds from them. I think the hunt is what keeps things interesting. I have enough smoke. :Namaste:

No sin in that. At least I sure hope there isn't ;) .

Craigslist before they cracked down on it.

Don't get me started on CraigsList right now, lol. A person can't advertise a rifle for sale even when they state in the ad that they'd accept valid grocery store cards for the thing in lieu of cash, FFS - but it seems to be perfectly fine to fill it with scams and ads from those DoorDash thieves (drivers get paid a fee to deliver your food - then your tip goes to the company who only gives any of it to your driver if it's more than they paid the driver for the delivery, and even then DD keeps the amount they paid the driver, meaning it didn't actually pay the driver - so... wage-stealing is thievery!)

I think you might know where you can pick up a couple selfed copies, if there is need ;) .

That would be kind of cool. Did you turn one of them into a grow-space filling SCROG, lol?

and I've a couple beautifully structured clones and some seeds from them.

Sweet. I'm guessing they somehow ended up with one autoflowering gene and one regular (photoperiodic) one.

I remember reading somewhere, that one in about every 20 is a runt. I can’t remember where I read that tho, or if i thought it was vaguely legitimate. I’ve seen them of all sizes. That Octopot one that newb grew was pretty insane!

Well, final count 125 grams, I did over dry it a tad, I have them now curing in mason jars with boveda 62 packs, and the taste and smell are starting to sweeten up. I say the high is in between medium in high, I have been pretty busy harvesting my outdoor as well so when I work and smoke I dont feel it as much. Here's the final pic, until next round, thanks all.

Nice little shrubs

Bet u get a couple nice tall colas from those early girls

Hi folks. I have a dda that is cupping under as if over watered or something. Three others are looking normal. I was wondering if the pheno shift is seen through this action? Anyone see this in there's?
Normal leaves.
Cupped under leaves.

They both seem healthy and feed from the same source. Maybe cuppy one will grow out of it. Or is it the unicorn dda cultivar? It came up this way from the start. Thanks

Update
Dark Devil auto day 82. Still looking quite sad :-( hard to tell if it's getting any better or worse since there's so many crispy leaves. Dont think I want to trim them all off as that would be quite a severe pruning, and this late in her life might hurt more than help.
Watered this evening with 20ml GI in 1.5G ro water and 20 drops tea.

Not sure how I'm going to judge when she's done as there are basically no visible trichomes to speak of....

Thanks for looking
Have a knife day

Cupped under leaves.
Looking at the leaves at the top portion of the plant they all look just fine. My opinion is that she is going to grow out of it just great.

Here are a couple photos of my Christmas Dark Devil auto. She sprouted on 9-30 so is 15 days old today. She has a good bit of variegation on her leaves. So far she's not too awful pretty but I feel she will get past this and be a pretty plant (I hope!). Oh, and I call it a Christmas DDA because the flowers are for my buddies for gifts this Christmas.

I pulled out my notepad today to make a couple notes about the Quarter Pounder auto X Dark Devil plant I've been growing. One of the autoflower crosses I made this past winter into this spring. It was a very small pollination, just one small bud of a DDA did I dust with QPA pollen. It resulted in 14 seeds of which this plant is the first I've grown. All along I somehow got it in my head that the plant sprouted on August 6th. Looking at my notes I saw where it had sprouted on July 31st almost a full week earlier. That puts her at 80 days post sprout today. This morning I decided to go ahead and harvest the apical cola, trim it up, and hang it to dry in my dark closet. Exactly 12 inches of delicious buddage from the bottom of the bottom bud to the tip of the top bud. The aroma when trimming was making my eyes burn. A sort of dank citrus fuel aroma. Nothing at all like a Dark Devil. This is the fourth cross I've made with DDA as the female/pollen recipient and this is the first that did not have the floral fruity sweet aroma. I grabbed a few photos before hanging the cola to dry. I believe I'll leave the remains/lowers in the tent for another week to see if there is a difference in quality with the extra week of growing.
