Any plant capable of it will produce it under the right environmental conditions which are the root pressure (from moisture content I think) and and then higher humidity levels overnight when transpiration isn’t happening. The wiki page I linked to says it pretty well :) but maybe you missed the links - they tend to disappear in the text sometimes.

Hey all, just hit day 50 and I think my DDA is looking like she's a green pheno. No sign of any purple at all :(
She's growing well and I think she's about done streching. Drinking 1.5 gallons of water every 4 days now buds are starting to stack up if they fill in good here in the next couple weeks should have some nice colas.

She looks a bit droopy because the lights just came on and she was thirsty.
 
Well, the purple ones are super pretty but the green pheno is reportedly more potent and higher yielding so it may be a blessing in disguise. But i get that no purple is a total bummer when you grow this variety.
In any case... It looks fantastic knifemaker! Did you top it? Or just LST? Looks to be loving the kit !(I think you’re growing it in DBHBB ...)

There is a pheno that stays green until very late and then turns, but you’re right that that one looks all green and not about to change. Its also different in that it’s super bushy with lots of shoots and leaves and that seems to be more often the green one - based on the many grows I;ve watched online, not because I’ve grown that many myself. :)
 
Yeah, Knife, that's supposed to be the good phenotype. Pick some violets and stare at them whilst enjoying a better buzz, lol. Afterwards, give them to your little girl to put in her hair (if you have one).

I don't recall reading that they taste any different. But I could be mistaken. Hope not.
 
Check the original post of this thread and you’ll see my first DDA. She didn’t turn purple until two weeks out from harvest, and it was a dirty purple, not a vibrant one.

I’ve been chasing that buzz ever since. :laughtwo: It was wickedly energetic. Gave me tremors every time I smoked it. Lol!

Oo! Which picture is that a zoom of Sue? There’s 2 different plants there, and one of them did just get the chop... so i’m curious which one that is.

I’m also curious what it is you mean :hmmmm: what’s the sign? :D Oh i see now, you say the red oil in the stalks... well that’s been there and coming on for the last few weeks. They’re at day 70just now. I did chop one of them a couple of nights ago, for - reasons :) ,but i was hopIng the rest would go a while longer yet so I could Cat drench them, but maybe not... they still have lots of clear headed trichs...

@SweetSue your saying that about the harvest window made me check. I’ve been thinking it is a longer running strain because I know so many of you like to let it go to 100+ days at times. Sweet Seeds say 8.5 weeks from germination which is 60 days and I’m past that already, by 10 days. Maybe they are ripening fast in these small pots, too (they’re not exactly root bound tho’ - not the budsicles anyway). So I’d better get some more shots of their trichs up close and check for how many clear ones there still are... might be closer than i thought :Namaste:

You know that a bit like this one I’ve got now - the one i called the green/pink. It was green al over till recently then showed some pink through the buds and now the buds are all a dark dusty pink - not deep purple like the others. I’ll be sure to be careful when i try that one! :D

I used to wait for full milky. Now I go for mostly clear. It’s a cleaner, more energetic buzz for me.

When I see the red oil I start planning how far I want them to go. Regardless of harvest times the euphoria has always been exemplary.

So nice to hear you may have the dusty one Amy. :yahoo:
 
Thanks both... and thanks Sue for clarifying the clear harvest for a more energetic buzz. I need mine a little smoother so may push some of them long. Hell I have 4 going so I can take them all at different times and get some different impressions... Best part is that it’s less-than-weeks until I get some DDA in the pipe! :D

Yeah I've also heard the green pheno is supposed to be more potent and a bigger plant.
I didnt top it at all, I did a fair bit of LST. She got bent over and trained the top toward the edge of the pot, all the branches also got trained out to the edges of the pot and the smaller off shoots got tied in place so nothing was in anything else's way. Once I was pretty sure she was about to start her stretch I left her alone.

Not much info about growing autos in the kit I'm trying to make it work. DDA is deffinately loving life.
So my take away is that even tho she's looking green now there may still be hope for the dusty pink pheno. :cool:
