Old pH meter wouldn't hold its calibration, or...?

Yeah, EC meters (which is all a "TDS" meter is, it just does a little math to guestimate the amount of total dissolved solids) are really simple, so they tend to be pretty robust.
Yessir, exactly! It's about four years old and not stored well at all. Shame on me. Lol.

I've lost probes to "dried up in the cabinet over the Winter" before.

Haven't managed to forget to NOT to store it in distilled water (leaches out the electrode bulb) yet, though.

Always use storage solution or, if you're out of that, the 4.01 buffer/calibration solution. And <COUGH> a little birdie once told me that the caps on these things aren't always air/water tight. Possibly not ever, IDK - might be something to keep people from "pressurizing" the environment inside, which (I have no idea here) could be potentially harmful for a delicate glass electrode that has (on cheap pH meters) a non-refillable thing inside it and tiny holes in the glass to allow it to actually function. Then again, the manufacturers probably sell more probes (and meters, in the case of the disposable ones with non-replaceable electrodes) when they're designed in such a way that an inattentive user will allow their meter's probe to dry up  .

I'm growing my DDA in my flower tent under 12/12 and she has almost caught up to one of my photo girls. The only negative I've heard about running autos under 12/12 is you lose yield.

Do you just lose yield? @Ganjagrowergu has now grown two DDA under 12/12 or 11/13 lighting and has not been all that impressed with the potency. Yes someone like @SweetSue has it up near the top of her list of her favorite strains and I believe she feels the potency of the DDA is quite high? So maybe the plant itself grows really well under that 12/12 lighting but it's not receiving enough light to fully develop the buds or trichromes? I don't know, I'm just speculating.

I’ve never tried one under 12/12 lighting. I may ask Brix if I can drop a small one in the corner of his flower tent. I’ll be digging my pots and saucers out of storage today to upcan his hempy seedling.

A-Train taught us that autos do best under massive light. I actually advised him once that he’d stress his girl with all that light. It won POTM without my recommendation being followed.

My green DDA day 42, she has grown 4 times her size since switching to 12/12. She was so fussy and slow growing then baboooom

Still green though?? Smells like flowers and candy

Thanks for tagging me, I’ll go back and check out some DDA

My tested DDA wasn't huge in thc but the profile was very nice

Can't see 12/12 degrading it that much, but anything is possible for sure

You have test results Chris? Lab or self-tested? Can you share the results with us please?

Also she did not like the topping or training, I did it anyways :D

I ran two side-by-side last time, one topped and one left to grow naturally. The untopped gave me 1/2 oz more wet weight, but it also had root rot, so..... They’re not heavy yielders without massive light, but I have gotten 4 oz from one with side lighting.

At day 42 I’d expect to see some purples coming through. That may be something that requires more light, but I think it’s more likely to be a green pheno, which is something of a misnomer because they go dirty purple right before they’re finished.

They look healthy and strong newty. :high-five:

I’m jumping ahead here... but @StoneyMemoirs does. He grows them in his flower tent and says it’s great :thumb:

Yes indeed!

I've done many of them 13/11 from seed, and that seems to make them come out the best in Doc's High Brix Kit.

I'll be running a few outdoors in the Emerald Triangle at the farm this summer, looking forward to it! The big things with these DDA's--don't transplant them, and feed 'em lightly. If they start slow, they'll end slow, so culling can and should be employed. Hope this helps--it's some great weed!

PS. Hi Sue! Hope all's well in your neck of the woods. Always grateful to you for turning me onto this strain, and of course for so, so much more!

Hey Stoney. :hugs: Brix and his partner have me safe and sound while I wait on an apartment to open up. It’s only a matter of time.

And thanks for the info. Great to hear they do well in kit soil and at 13/11. That’s usually where my bloom lights sit. I only grew a few DDAs in the kit and I was always changing the variables. Thank goodness I’m surrounded by growers with more self-control. Lol!
