Dark Devil Auto: A Community Grow Record

oops, I forgot this pic

It was started off indoors then put outside at around 5 weeks, it's also my first gro in coco so it kind of got off to a slow start.

Peace

Here is a bud on the GSC Thin Mint plant I am growing. I pollinated a handful of buds with pollen from a Northern Light IBL dad. See those plump seeds on the end of that bud? The little things that make me smile.

Thank you very much! Means a lot coming from a Member of the Month Nominee!

In that case, lol, I'll add mine: Nice photo.

Thank you, TS

DDA #1 taken today. I thought she could use more like down through the center of the plant so I staked out her two main sails. A very mild LST I guess for lack of a better description.

Looks like a good way to ensure as much light as possible reaches as many leaves as possible without promoting "mad branching" behavior. As long as you keep the primary tip(s) higher than the rest of the plant, you won't have to worry about it redistributing the auxin that provokes that "sending tips in search of the light" behavior.

I like the form and symmetry of the plant and wish to keep that. I'm hoping by slightly pulling the two mains apart and letting in more light the smaller secondary branches will grow out more fully.

In that case, simply adjust things so that your current primary tips are below the secondaries/shoots that you wish to see grow. If you only wish to have certain ones have a growth spurt, then tie down all the other ones that would otherwise be at their level, too. Within about 24 hours, the auxin I mentioned (and that I never can remember the name of) will get redistributed to the ones you are hoping to see grow more - and then they soon will. If you wish your current tops to remain so, you can always let them return to their current position at that time. Might have to support them somehow for a couple of days, but they'll soon be... er... "back on top," lol.

"Crazy plant people" can create all kinds of interesting (or at least odd) shapes with their plants by doing stuff like this. And, yeah, that pretty much describes many of us cannabis growers ;) .

I once braided branches on a Big Bud plant to try to keep it shorter. The yield suffered quite a bit but it did keep the plant short.

From a GH on the coast of Maine....

Dynamic little girls, aren't they? You're getting excellent colors Blew. I'd anticipate deep purples by harvest. I love the side branching. Hehe! What a beauty! :yahoo:

I'm too lazy to look back over 130 pages....anyone got any images of their DDA just prior to harvest? I am looking at mine wondering...thanks!
