Dark Devil Auto: A Community Grow Record

Did I see this one's odor described as "floral" or the like?

If someone lives with CLOSE neighbors, is there any possibility (any at all) that a neighbor would smell DDA growing and think "cannabis?" I was asked if I had an auto-flower seed that would be 100% guaranteed to NOT be recognized as cannabis by odor. The person stated it would be camouflaged by being in a flower garden, but that neighbors routinely passed within 15' of where it would be planted. The only thing I could think of (in my inventory) was the DDA.

DDA has a smell of berry mixed with fuel very distinctively cannabis.

The berry - and even the fuel, especially if that fuel is diesel (and that clue probably just informed you of who this is for) - would not be a problem. The "distinctly cannabis," however... <SIGH>

Skunk... No.

Pine, when there are no pines... No.

Classic "hash plant" indicas from the Hindu Kush region... No.

Et cetera.

The DDA isn't a plant you could hide with others. They are stand-out beautiful. No way will they go visually unnoticed.

He said the place he was thinking about planting one was a multicolored jungle. And I assumed he'd train it to grow horizontally along the ground. So if someone just thought, "Smells like flowers," it would probably have worked. "Smells like that <BLEEP> dope," though, lol, and. . . .

Hahaha! It wouldn’t work TS.

What a shame, what a shame.

I grew a little Flo... must have been in '99 or '00, back when DJ Short was working for (with?) Dutch Passion. It was one of the five(?) "blue strains." Mine were red/pink & blue. Which is ironic, because I picked it hoping that it'd look like "regular" cannabis, lol. Well... And because it appeared to have the highest sativa content of all of those strains and I wanted to find out what all the (then) rage was about. I think it could have stood a daily helicopter check late in the season (the mind just caused the eyes to pass it by - "move along, nothing to see here," lol). But NOT a walk-through. Smelled like cannabis.

I just checked Dutch Passion's website and they no longer sell the strain. Out of curiosity, I checked the Gorilla Seedbank's DJ Short offerings to see if he's selling it under his own brand. Wasn't listed, so - having been firmly encircled by a wild hair at this point - I looked at The Attitude. They DO show it available from DJ Short... for almost $180, lol. My seed-purchasing budget will just about cover a pack of last year's pepper seeds on the discount rack, and my buddy's isn't much better. So that one's out.

Oh well, back to the drawing board. Wish I hadn't wasted my Northern Lights Auto seed, I'd have given him that. The (non-auto, back in "the day") NL that I grew hardly smelled when you had your nose in a baggie full of the stuff, let alone when growing.

Hey Guys,

My DD's are all dried and still curing, but thought i'd throw some pics in.

Smoke and taste are already excellent. Effects are perfect for me, not too strong and very balanced. I can still function and focus well. Hoping to do better with my next one which is currently at day 10.

Whoa! Nice buds hanging! :high-five: I am soooo jealous. I still have about two months before my next DDA will raise its little head. Once I get them going again there won't be any stopping. Lol!

This, ladies and gentlemen, is why we grow DDA. The end of a long-ago harvest, squirreled away in the closet for......I suppose for today. Lol!

Best damn buzz ever. I’m going outside. The energetic side just kicked in. Lol!

Cured a year and almost four months. I can’t believe how potent this is. :yahoo: I intend to cob cure my plants from now on.

I’ll be starting with two in June. The closet will be a steady chain of DDAs from then on. *contented sigh*

I've got a dozen jars of ground varieties that date back from early 2015 to the present. When friends come over I bring them out on a serving platter and let them choose the evening's herb. My most favorite of the flavor profiles is the RQS Quick One Auto, and it just keeps getting better. :hmmmm: I think there are one or two beans left, might be time for a restocking of the herb and a seed run too. :battingeyelashes:

I’ve decided to start my daughter juicing and I’m going to let your auto seeds pick up most of the weight. I have enough to keep her growing for years. :battingeyelashes:

I’ll need one plant ready to harvest every two weeks, at least, to heal that liver. Autos will make that much easier to do.

Thank you for helping make this possible. :hugs:

No more until about late July, early August. *deep breath* I can do this. I managed to run out of both DDA and Carnival at the same time. Lol! Only me, eh?

Not that I'm without, just without the best. Lol! I do seem to enjoy life on the edge. :battingeyelashes: I do have a Carnival nearing harvest, so it's not as bad as it appears at first, frightful glance. Lol!

I've been at this for over three years. I grow some serious plants. How do I keep running out of my preferred stock? This will change. I'll begin feeling the satisfaction of jars of cobs of DDA.

Yeah..... that works for me. :blunt:

This was DDA5. So far, it's the best of the many harvests, and I believe that may be due to the lengthy cure. She's going out in grand style.

:bongrip: I AM HIGH! :bongrip:
