Both bagseed are same age, and were both potted in 1gal pot on dec 14th, both at the same height/overall size.

Just picked up the aloe water juice stuff lastnite and me likes the lable, with 2% Ca, 2%Phosphorus and 3%Mg, 75mg potassium and only 15mg sodium.
(recently used shrimp boiled water for a P deficiency... Gawd i wish i found this aloe gloe sooner. Would rather my flowers smell aloey then fishy..)

Good experiment. Is the bagseed from the same bag?

Yes! I have picked a lot of coconuts and I've eaten a lot of coconuts and drank a lot of coconut milk. I love coconuts. But a few weeks ago I bought some of that coconut water crap for the first time and I was like -WTF!!!!???? Hopefully it helped the plants in the ditch grow better...

Coco water update

Subject A-coco water, leftside

Yeah, i failed to see the pot height difference until after.. Its ok, neither really grew UP.

However subj A did grow OUT more, and her 3rd set is 1/2 way out. While subj B- straight water,...i dont even see her 3rd set yet..

OMG Yes! That crap is not like any good at all, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE coconut.

The glass of green could work - they grow fruits in plexiglass or glass boxes in Japan to shape them. You'd definitely have to have a fan under it. I don't think you can put the light at 4" above a glass, though. I have glass enclosed HPS lights - they still have to be about 2 feet off the top of the plants.

Does Stage just drop a dog screen on top of his plants for a few months and then remove it near the end? Hard to see in his pictures LOL

Glass of green - GLOG. Sounds mildly sinister. Not for the children anyway.
This is part of what Stage said when I asked about his technique.

When i topped my plant I did it on her outer 4 corners. I used a tomato cage and bamboo sticks arranged in a square in the soil/coco for support. I then super cropped the corners at the tomato cage ring then placed the fence on top.
This left the middle of the plant wide open allowing the middle shoots to catch up to the sides and fill in the middle. I waited a week then re-arranged the tops and placed the cage back on top.
I repeated this a total of 3x within a 21-28 day period.
Note that this occurred 7 days before flower and continued into week 3 of 12/12.

I will try the 'dog fence' thing in a couple weeks. The point, for me anyway, being to grow a plant that is controlled like a scrog, but has a bit more 'natural' look without a screen encased in the middle of it.
Right now the plant I want to use for it is all tied up to it's neighboring plant with graft attempts. It's very claustrophobic for all of us and I'm looking forward to cutting it free as soon as possible

This is the hardest thing for me to imagine, yeah, when I try to figure out how to work a screen into my grow. I don't want a screen stuck in the middle of my plants LOL

This makes perfect sense. I was thinking about hanging my screen anyway (from my light mounts, actually) two and half feet below my light. If I make the screen hangers on yo-yos, then, I can pull the screen up out of the plants every week and lower it back down on their new tops.

Yes, I have some metal fencing wire, which is a square grid with large openings. I plan to cut a chunk of that out and hang it. It will be light and easy to manage. With 4-6" openings (they vary) the plant won't be roughed up too much during the process. Giving silica to my plants has helped them stay strong and wiry. Otherwise, with no screen for support, I'd probably just end up with buds laying on the floor. Maybe I will anyway...

That 2 foot rule is the pirate's code; more like guidelines really.

I start my girls 18" below the glass enclosed 600W HPS, then I let them grow. I raise the lights when the buds get 1-2" from the glass, or if I need more light width to cover the canopies. - DankWolf's Den Of The Bizarre & Obscure

On my first grow, I did 4 weeks under a wire metal shelf and CFL, then flowered without. It helped the canopy shape some, which came out bowl shaped, but still closer bud sizes top to bottom than without the scrog/screen time.

Yessir, both from the same bag.

Also left out..
Each has one 23W cfl, 4inches above.
RH 25-30%
Temp 79°f

Interesting results so far. BTW, what type of soil are you using? It does kind of make sense that the results are better with the coconut water. More nutritional value than plan water (although no idea how optimal these values are for MJ plants):

Lookie that! New guy already steppin up to the plate with big help:)

Thanks SlowToke, ive been meaning to add nutritional info, just keep spacing it out.. And welcome! +reps!

Its not a big suprise to see the faster growth rate, (may not even be the coco water) im hoping to see the real benefit when it comes time to top. Hoping to see a multitude of new tops.. From the cytokinins privided by the coco water.

dankwolf have u heard of mainlining.?? topic u could add to this ram packed show lol. basically its better with a photoperiod bean. but u top as many times to create the colas u want then u remove all other growth and just leave ur topped arms to grow.no training.but I did super crop each branch for bigger buds.worked a treat;)i tried it with the final bagseed I did.wasnt a huge pot and not in great soil as was a test but u get big buds .here is my first and only attempt at mainlining;)

.happy growing every1;)

I ahh.. Kinda almost had this? With my first plant, was more of a soft lollipoping. I think i have issues with taking so many leaves off, being they hold nutrients, and since i dont use synthetic crap.. It was a massive fail.

Even today, im officially worried my 2nd plant wont see the finish line. :bitingnails:

Thank you much for the suggestion, i imagine once i get some kinks ironed out, ill give that a try :)

Edit: slow toke..
My soil is a 50/50 mix of fox farm ocean forest and black gold
