Curso's True High Brix!

Today (no pics sry) everything in flower got some transplant water and a spray of brix. The two Sour Diesel #2 that are on week four got the cationic drench for the first time today. They had the kit usual, nice week 4 frosting, we'll see what they have to say in a couple days. Everything else is chilling, the CH9~ Toxic Blue 33 showed its colors and she is a keeper, I took the bottom four branches off her as well, I am guessing that she is going to be the surprise plant of this grow. It's a bit of a mutt but is basically a blueberry jack from what I gathered, we'll see. A true Jack is on the top of the order next list. The mutant GSC has two branches, one of them is growing three branched nodes, it should be an interesting flower cycle for that plant. The Pineapple Skunk are....what they are...one I probably should cull and the other is growing at a normal rate, after watching the HSO video on the tude, I should get some amazing color off these plants. Cheese Candy Auto is very unimpressive so far.

Cheese candy auto? Good lord, what kind of frankenstrain is that?

We've gotta get you some cali cuts bro. Of course that's impossible, and can't be done....but i wish there was some way to get you some totally legit strains and see what happens.

It was a freebie with the pineapple skunks, one of those ones I like to abuse, its gonna get the drench and bloomit the next time I mix the drench up. See what happens playing with it :)

I wish I could get some true cuts too, but I take what I can get for now. One day it'll be acceptable to exchange via fedex but until then...It is what it is I guess ;)

So I ended up with like 8g of bubble hash from the trim of the first run soil. Its usable now...Man...I've smoked a lot of hash...High brix hash...WOW!!!!! Nothing like it...Best hash I've smoked by far...I'll have to dedicate a couple plants for it. Truly amazing...

Okay I felt bad saying I haven't taken any pic's in Steppenwolf's journal so here some are...

Sour Diesel #2 week 4 will be on the 10th, they got the cationic drench yesterday...

Not bad Curso! I was hoping you would feel guilty and throw some pics up lol. The plants that got the cat ionic drench look insane. Actually everything looks insane. I gotta cut some clones today or tomorrow.

You said a couple days back you gave the plants in flower transplant water? Are you trying something new there? Or did you transplant them in bigger pots? How did they respond?

I think I have a habit of asking too many questions at once.

These plants are in 2nd run soil, so its a stretched out rotation of transplant water and energy/cationic drench and less spraying, every 2 weeks if I recall correctly. The 2nd run in the T&J soil was pretty nice, this is proving to be amazing. I'm just leaving bloomit alone (aside from this auto...muahahahahaha) everything seems to be really, really happy, just leaving them alone.

Kit plants clone very well bro, I spray mine with a 1/2 strength stress daily, they root very well.

I don't mind the questions at once, I tended bar in another country and they would order the whole bar a round....one at a time....drove me nuts.

Curso might be following directions.....at least that's my guess.

Anytime something is transplanted it should get transplant water! Which is one reason why it's named "transplant water," on account of being used each and every time something is transplanted.....

Also, in the second run kit the amendments are different and so are the energy requirements. Transplant water is alternated with energy in the second round.

Hey Doc I do have a question about the 2nd run. What are your thoughts on defoliation these next couple rounds as the spraying becomes less?

Well, I have a problem. I've got 9 years of a science-based education slathered on top of an already science-biased intellect. It flavors everything I do or think.

Plants, for some unexplained reason, have sabotaged themselves by growing leaves. If they didn't have this horrible propensity to grow leaves, they'd have far more buds and produce....right?

OK. I'll stop with the irritating sarcasm.

Leaves are where photosynthesis takes place. Pull off the leaves and you have less photosynthesis....period. Pulling of leaves and branches also nixes/re-distributes hormones withing the plant, as most hormones are located in the apical meristematic tissue. (the tip top of all branches, especially the tall ones.)

As you know, I prune from the bottom up. I tried defoliation a la Bassman and 420fied's methods. I was very careful to do it right....and it lowered brix about 40%, even if raw yield was up. That's right, I got more buds but they were of lesser quality.....not even close.

I personally am gonna stick with science. I'm going to leave the leaves on the plants, with the exception of rational pruning tecniques for canopy management and air circulation.

Defoliation increases bud sites.
Photosynthesis occurs in leaves.

You do the math and let me know what your answer is.

looking great Curso!

vibrant and healthy.. makes for good MMJ :goodjob:
Thanks Alk!!!
I am really happy with how things are shaping up with the 2nd run soil. The funny thing about this run is...It is even easier to maintain than the first run, which was pretty easy. They are almost on set it and forget it status. I like that!!!! The Kit is the definition of K.I.S.S.

Easier for the second run sounds great. As if it couldn't get any easier. Lol. I can't wait to give the second run in the first batch of soil. Looking good Curso.
