Curso's True High Brix!

Thanks for sharing the pics I'm definitely going to try this!

After all this veg talk I was thinking about up canning plants and how pot size affects growth, yield, vigor..now I have 3x3s, 1/2gal, 1gal, and 2gal to use during veg. I'm trying all kinds of combos. First run was 1gal airpot to 7gal airpot. Next was one gal plastic to 7 gal airpot. Then I went 1gal-2gal-7gal. This run I'm using 3x3 baby pots, and will use my new 1/2gals I just got. I've noticed some interesting trends but nothing conclusive enough to share and give people the wrong idea lol. I'll definitely try the root trim.

Thanks!

My pleasure bro :)

I think that is exactly what I will be doing from here on out. I did something similar but went from the plug to a 3 1/2 inch square to the 2 gallon plastic then to the 7 gal smarts. But it felt they lost steam after blowing the 3 1/2 apart then transplanting again and I often thought how much bigger the rootball would be going straight into the 2 gal plastics and leaving them uninteruppted. However you do get that additional root zone/transplant soak when upcanning to the 2 gal. But tbo with the trimming method they are ready to explode and they rip through the 3 1/2 in no time anyway. I did this with my last set of Wild Thai's and the difference in size was amazing. Going to see how this idea works out for you. My guess is that it will deliver.

Peace,

Any2

I think building the roots in a 2gl plastic and then into the smartie is where it's going to be at. We'll see. I was taking the clones into a 1c plastic pot and trying to build from that. It did work and they were nice plants. In fact I have 6 more Fruit Punch Skunk seedlings (well their plants now) in those, IDK wtf I'm gonna do with them, probably give them away. I have no use for them.

The thing I do know.. once that plug hits dirt I'm going to be a happy man.

That's really cool Hash. Its an interesting training method :)

I had seen a drawing explaining that method several times and had to give it a try.

I had intended to train her up around a tomato cage or wire frame to open her up a bit, but that never happened.

Both of them under a screen would have been ideal. There are 8 colas on one and 10 on the other one.

Also they were clones and it isn't as easy to guess which way branches go sometime on this widow.

I have a Cheese from seed I topped a few times, a little LST and viola.... 8 main colas just about equal in size no cage or wire needed.

Veg is shaping up nicely as well....2 Sour diesel #2, AK, Fruit Punch Skunk (M), Lost Coast Hashplant, and that bushy thing is my OPP mom.

Flower just had the soil flipped with energy and got brix yesterday. The plants in flower without buds are an opp and the FPS.

Yeah man, I'm pretty stoked. It would be a shame to get new armor together and not be able to use it. After I broke those ribs I realized I might wear to little body armor. Well at least for mace fighting I do and my grow is way behind because of those 3 males last round. So I need to put some loot together fast. I've never had a problem finding work. It's easy for me to find people are always going to eat. I'll have new gear before my ribs heal 100% ;) My grow supports my hobbies and when I needed it the most I failed. So I'll get back on the big horse and ride it out for a while in a kitchen. While my current plants bang some flowers out. Harvesting 2 out of 6 hurt. (that first urkle blew too).

While I wrote those instructions for my Nephew I realized where I had been going wrong and corrected it. My yield's were very dependent on my cloning tray and trimming those roots. I started taking clones in dirt and was unable to trim them up and veg them like I was. Small spaces require some different methods, this is one Doc put me up on a couple years ago and it works out fantastic for my area. I am back to doing that. That is how I pulled 22oz from a 600w light. We also got almost 1lb off a Chem Valley Kush in hydro because I trimmed those roots a few times. 30 days in the tray is amazing. Try it. I'd bet the farm you'll have to supercrop them.

If you buy actual brand name rapid rooters by gh you dont need to feed them. They have a nute charge. I do spray them with destress (I am currently out of it but alas more is on the way). I to have been letting them rip in dirt and this method does make some really, really nice plants. However, they are a far cry from the yield from what I get when I trim them.

You're welcome bro. Our spaces are similar this method might help your yield. It also saves loads of room in veg.

I follow Doc's cloning method with the rooters 16oz (1pt) of water and cover for a week. I leave them uncovered after 10 days and just keep them moist and trim until I need them.

I'll take pics next time I trim them, they dont get very tall at all if you continue to trim the roots.

Yep your on the money with the rooter filled with roots and shooting them everywhere. Then if you veg under 50% of your flowering light...once they hit the big light...LOOK OUT...;)

first off this is new to me and sounds badass!!

for the first 30 days in the tray do you keep the roots trimmed back to the plug at all times or do you let them get a couple inches first?

I just dont allow them to get long, I don't allow them to swim in the water below. When I transplant them into their first dirt home they can be fresh trimmed. They're going to blow up when they hit that dirt. Just let the plug fill making sure to keep them moist through the cycle in the tray. It's a great method. All the credit goes to Doc, he turned me on to it a long time ago. It works fantastic!!!!

fantastic pics C! i do a bit of root trimming now that i use aero to clone, prob not as much as i should , i borrowed an idea from kushington farm for transplant with smartpots rather than removing the pot i started setting them on top of a new pot filled with medium i set them down in the coco a couple inches in a slightly larger smartie giving them alot more room to roam down we'll see how it works i just did 4 yesterday in a week i'll flip them, i'll take some pics tonight, it seems like they are getting alot more new real estate than just a regular trans, i put 2 & 3 gal on top of 4&5gal pots so they have all that space in addition to what they were in and no shock even possible , its working really well for KF and it does not get much easier lol

Curso, when do you use bloomit vs brix?

I don't suggest using bloomit, at all. I only use it because I have it and I like to gamble and fuck up a plant every now and then...

Edit...I use it when I switch the energy in the soil. I switch the plant with bloomit (when I use it). Brix will do the same thing it's just not as retarded strong as bloomit is.

Yup. I think I likened it to shooting pellet guns in the living room. Lots of fun, but it's only a matter of time till something breaks!

Yep...its sure is fun...but you have to be willing to break something to play with it....I have 10 clones of the plant I sprayed with it. It's suffering from light issues so I shot it in the face....:)

Yeah....sometimes a plant will look at you wrong, or be leaning a certain way and I'll walk by, yank it out, toss it and then come in and say, "See what happens bitches?" Then the rest of the grow is trouble free.

^^slight dramatization of what actually takes place.

Pretty much how it happened too. I haven't used it in a while and want to see what it does for this strain. I might have sat here with the zipper on the veg tent open and had the light on. She hasn't been super happy since. So she's a tester on how I might play with her babies :)
