Curso's True High Brix!

Is the mom of that plant pretty old. I noticed when the moms get old they just get to mature and don't really perform the way we expect them to. Its a drag it didn't work out and have high hopes for the next one bro. It looks like some fun stuff to do. Thanks for the update on it bro. Keep us posted :high-five:

There is no real mom.

It is about 10th generation of clone of clone.

Had I been an experienced grower then, I would have known to keep the original mother of the best weed east of the Mississippi! No one has showed me anything better this century.

I gave a clone of the plant I originally grew to a friend, and he has kept clones of clones of clones for about 3 years now.

I did cross the 3rd gen WW clone with a Querkle once, but only got about half dozen seeds. It was very good.

So far each one i have planted has been a female. I just started another WWxQ and am hoping for a male to pollinate the WW with.
If it works, I am going to call the strain Kosmic Kush :ganjamon:

Did I really say I am hoping for a male? lol

Here's to hoping for a dude bro :passitleft: I'm having the same hopes for a dude of my OPP.

It also looks like we're going to get a chance to see the HSO Lost Coast Hashplant one of them popped her head up today. So did one of the BID seeds Purple Berry :high-five: I also took a bunch of those f'ed up OPP seeds and am soaking a bunch of them to see if I can get a couple to crack. So..Seedlings that are above ground...4 OPP, 1 Sour Diesel #2, 1 Underdog OG, 1 Lost Coast Hashplant, 1 Purple Berry and a couple clones of the vegging Pineapple Skunk x GDP. I am going to take a clone or 2 of the Urkle that is in veg sometime today.

I also failed to mention that when I transplanted the PPP that the pile of leafy matter I had thrown in there a while back was gone. Nothing left but some magic, black soil. So while I had the hole dug from transplanting I threw that hermie plant in and covered it with its own root's and soil. It should be gone by the time I am going to transplant.

I did end up giving the flower tent some brix yesterday too....they love me long time...1-2 more weeks on the OPP, she's getting fat and closing up nice. The others have 2+ weeks. I think I see some purple starting to happen on the ugly urkle now. She's not to ugly now that she has put on some weight. Could've been she was just crackhead skinny and just needed to eat. She does smell really, really nice. Not as nice as OPP though, man I just can't get over how f'ing good that strain smells. It's not a scent that I can describe with any other word that "beautiful". I was trying to explain it to Dr.Dank yesterday...I just can't...

PS..I decided I would end this journal...When my soil is no longer fit for service ;)

Couple OPP bud shots and the flower tent ;)

Wow curso I did'nt realize you flower in led. How does that work compared to hps.

Night and day difference bro. I'm super happy I switched, the results from it are just fantastic. I'm really looking forward to my next flowering round now that I have a much better understanding of how to make it work in my space ;)

The buds don't seem as "large" but they make up for it in density and tric production they're frosty bricks. If you allow LED to do what they do the whole plant is big chunky buds. The secondary branching is fantastic. I'm very impressed with the nugs on the branches. With the HID I'd clean them from the bottom up to the 4th node from the top. Don't have to do that with the LED I let it go just to see what would happen. I got big ass frosty nugs and a bunch of them. Its a different style of growing for sure. Low and wide is what has been proven to me to get the best results.

Well that plant transplanted easily, I'll let her chill in the veg tent for about 10 more days and then she'll take center stage under the MarsII. In a couple days I'll shape her. I did take 2 clones of her and have more available if need be. I'm looking forward to this plant. The pineapple skunk cross is really stinky in veg. Good things to come ;)

Hey curso,
Nice, nice looking plants there my friend.

When are u gonna start another journal, lol, I don't know if I can read 148 pages, :)

Figured I'd at least come say Hi

When the soil I started in this journal is no longer fit for service, I'll start a new one. Its all good bro no need to read the past, be part of the present :high-five:

I'll take some more veg pics tomorrow, you'll be all caught up ;)

Count me in. Are u planning on using amended, recycled dirt forever? That is a cool thing to think about, and could be done I'm sure.
Guess ill begin reading at least the beginning of your journal, so I don't ask ya any duh! questions. Thanks for inviting me to tag along your journal.

If I can I will, I've added amendment after the 2nd run of the soil along with a small bag of ProMix hp and 30lbs of earth worm castings. I have 3 plants in 4th run right now, the current flowering plants are in the 3rd. It's Doc Bud's HB soil that I've been nurturing for a long time. Healthy soil gives healthy plants. I can't get over how nice these 3rd run soil plants are doing.

Nah don't bother, so many things have changed since I started this journal, you're up to speed by going like 15 pages back...:)

OPP is to the point today where I start putting the finishing touches on her. She got a touch of Cat drench with about the same amount of transplant and a couple drops of tea. I am a chef, through and through, please don't ask me for "proper" amounts I don't measure. She looks fantastic, I might pull her out and show you guys here in a few ;)

I'd like to point this post out as it contains what I consider the "formula for success."

The High Brix stuff is like having the right tools.
What you do with those tools is up to interpretation, provided you stay in the HB "zone."

The drenches we use are all "approved" for our crops. They do different things. How and when we apply them has a huge impact on the plants, and each grower will hopefully use their artistry in using the basic tools to produce something that they are pleased with.

There are other horizons too. I'm experimenting with organic steamed bone meal on the OG's. I like it better than high P guano so far...the plants are higher brix than with the guano, and have a better smell.

Then, there's the regular application of Transplant, in combination with other drenches. ETC!!!! You get the picture.

Let's use an analogy:

First you learn a C scale.
Then you learn C chords: 3rd, 5th, and 7th.
Then you learn scales in other keys, the circle of fifths, minor chords, diminished, suspended 9ths, 7ths, etc.

This is the boring but necessary part of learning to play the piano. But those who learn the basics and can then tap into their own creative energy, coupled with passion.....well, those people go on to produce something beautiful!

It's no different with growing. We've got the chords, the scales, and an understanding of how things work together....Curso's mind works like a chef. He recognizes patterns, links them to recent action he's taken, and wonders "What if I did this?" Then he records the result and learns from it.

I think slightly differently, but the end result is the same: We take the basic chords and scales (ingredients, pots, pans and heat) and combine them together to produce something pleasing.

That's all High Brix is: Soil that's tuned to allow maximum growth to the plant. We're in tune. We've got the ingredients. Now we can put them together with a strain and produce something we love!

Growing is Art AND Science. Occasionally dumb luck factors in.....but as we've seen here, even beginners can grow amazing stuff via science alone. Add to that an artistic touch and you've got something special.

Thanks a ton Doc!!! I love what these products do. 100% agree on art and science, it helps the cooking is the same thing but just at the end result of the art and science of the growers. We are just the conductors of the symphony in our pots with the tools we use. Speaking of which...Here's what happens when you finally get part of the art of the science or just how it works.
