Hi Bode
I can see you had your share of puns with that mess. So you stayed up all night washing everything, along with TK. Good stories for your grandchildren!
Of course, can't get all shitty about it lol
We had 19 inches of rain one weekend in Kentucky. The creek rose to almost floding, and usually there was just a trickle. We had a half inch water all over the floor (concrete slab), and just noticed it when we went to bed, then our dog was lapping up the water in the bedroom! So, we stayed up all night trying to remove all the water.
Wow! 19 inches! Kentucky, huh? Were you down there before you went way up North? I have a friend who lives there now, moved from Indiana, not sure where though so probably a stupid thing to bring up lol
I'm not a "neat freak", but that was ridiculous! Oh, my! Life happens. So sorry for you.
I'm a neat freak but it's ok! Cleaned up and moving on, just another day of stress and stress makes me tired!
You took the most beautiful pictures of trichomes I've ever seen!! Azimuth was right! You should collate your best ones for a book! You also seem to be very good with prose! One of the things I wanted to mention was is there a filter to remove light reflections?
There are so many filters but I try not to use them because it takes away from the classic imagery and makes them look photoshopped. With that said, any light reflections or shadows I do have, are again, issues I try to work through and balance while taking the time I do to take and process these photos. It's not as easy as it looks, it absolutely tests my patience some days.
I had to stop and smoke a bowl yesterday cause for whatever reason, a leaf in the way or something after feeding them, just gives off that little bit off offset that messes me up...
A lot of the trichomes had white looking trichomes, and I couldn't tell if they reflected light, or they we're actually white. I suspect it's too early to be that many white ones.
Nope, they're white, some are even amber! Crazy. I think
@Gidorah asked how much longer I thought because of the trichome colors...we arent even close though...its bizarre this round with some of these plants, showing me interesting stuff!
Photography is a complicated hobby or profession. How far will you go with it? Only you know for sure.
Idk...I'm a stay at home mom Bode, I guess if I really wanted to pursue something heavily, once the baby is in school, I'll have some more free time to focus on a hobby not balance a hobby in between my life?
Julie is 5'2", and I'm 5'10. But we fit.
Awww I can see you cutie patooties now
You're doing very well!! Crystal clear images, real enough to touch.
See, they're not though! Especially on desktop and that's why I'm trying so hard to do better and bothering you all with so many good but not great pics! Rob is right, all of these look nice on a phone but then come a laptop, they aren't as clear. Let me show you some examples of what I'm working on now with my
@DYNOMYCO review photos-you can clearly see where I'm lacking
All from these teeny tiny mychorrhiza....
.....This is my pickle currently and why I've directed my focus to harnessing what I can from the MACRO lens and attempting to use things like a tripod for my scope...I'll get it, just need to keep practicing. Im new to all of this, growing, writing reviews, trying to be a photographer....being a mom..it's a learning process and I'm in in for all the ups and downs so long as I can educate myself and others!
I guess not enough to jar the tripod. Great pictures!
Nope, I push through!
You need to get back to a day-work night-sleep kind of pattern. You'll feel much better if you can! Happy Smokin'
Oh My. How often do we say this?! I feel like I get on track for a few days or a couple weeks and then, boom, here we are a train off the
tracks again...I always get back up, though!
Nice! First time I've seen colors in trichomes
Oh I'm so glad I could give you a first! I have lots of plants with every run that give me colored trichomes so feel free to hop on over for a colored trichome fix whenever you need one! I have been doing a lot more of these shots as I've been asked to focus on MACRO imagery for my journals and reviews so, again, there will be plenty.
Plus, I document my controlled droughts come end of flower and each day, I present with trichome photos of those droughting and morphing buds as well...needless to say, plenty of colored trichomes for you if you want them CBD!
DAYS 93/94 DAY 36 FLOWER
So anyway guys and gals, I was tired and cranky last night. I had to feed this tent they received
@Prescription Blend Long Term Flower and Stacker 4. Stacker 4 is what I call the max dose of my Humboldt's Flower Stacker as it takes me, guess how many, yep, 4x worth of upping the dose to get me to a full dosage at 8ml/gl.
LT nutrients are given post week 4 Flower through harvest. The difference in dosages comes from the Big Date component of
@Prescription Blend's 6 part system. This is the bottle that changes the NPK ratio and is only used during the flowering stage, it is not part of the gl mixes through flower. It's main goal is to flip that ratio and also to build trichomes. I think it has done its job just fine so far.
I was gonna do a BIG focus on Spicoli but I've been behind last few days so I'm touching on a few girls and a few different things. I do want to note that our Gelato-K needed stakes put in her last night, she back there in the tent, has gotten so heavy, she was starting to flop around a little-her colas are so long and stretchy but dense, so it was only a matter of time before I had to add in some support for her.
Reminded me of what my Acapulco Gold did to me last winter, if anyone remembers, Goldie was so heavy she was a hot mess towards the end of flower, held up by idk how many yo-yos and ties.
So moving on...
Call me crazy but 2 days ago, I snipped like somewhere between the recommended 1/8-1/16 inch on Spicoli's mains (1 of which had already hit a bar on the light one morning a few days ago) and I think I already can see the bud building ....back building... out and not up...maybe it's me seeing things but you let me know.
This is my 2nd plant ever, I've let hit a light, my 2nd photoperiod ever, a G-13, named 'G', was my other child to have suffered burns under my care-both minimal but makes me mad that I did it now not once, but twice.
She takes FOREVER to grow lol these huge, huge, huge colas are developing but there is an awful lot to develop. She is by far, the least developed of all 5 girls and its not because she isn't trying. She also drinks more than all the girls at nearly 2.5 gl a feed now, but again, she's about 15-20 inches or more taller than the others.
Our GGSLH I think went 156 days last round. I also vegged her for 12 days longer though..
It's not as fun to do the macros of Spicoli as she isn't a colored lady and she's still early on, but it's nice to get them of all the plants in their developmental stages, regardless.
Sirius Black is such an interesting character. Her name just opens thr book for interesting things doesn't it? As
@HashGirl mentioned the other day, it is not named after Harry Potter. It was so kindly given a planetary and astrological name because of its unique qualities. Some buds of Sirius Black are so dark they appear black and almost otherworldly. Hence the "Sirius Black" name.
This plant shows its squat nature and sets itself apart not just in shape and color but also in smell. It clearly does not carry with it a structure like the once very similar in looks, Zombie Death. You now see how the Zombie Death really produces those cone shaped buds while Sirius Black maintains her fat budded shape.
Coloring leans Sirius Black now more towards a dark purple/red/pink while Zombie Death shimmers with more of a light purple and silver glisten.
The aromas are very different between these two now. Sirius is absolutely berry fresh while Zombie Death is minty, sweet and candy smelling.
Zombie Death was said to be a long finisher at 11 weeks but I doubt we will see that here with these two specimens. Sirius Black will be the first to go, as she was last year as well, she is shining on and bulking up deliciously. All plants clearly have plenty of time left with many new white pistils still pushing through everywhere.
The thing about macro photos guys and gals is that when you zoom in, they don't lose focus. It is also a way to magnify without zooming, you can later zoom when editing your photos and it doesn't lose clarity upon doing so.
Trick is lighting. Trick is angles. Trick is find as many tricks as you can and learn to use them all to get a good pic. It is easy to see the difference between a MACRO and a regular bud shot. In the MACROS you see the trichomes and there is not those miniscule lines you see on the photos, everything pops as if you were right on top of it looking at it. You can see the specs on a leaf for example and not just the leaf and you can do so with the naked eye.
I think that's all the conversation I'm going to have on this journal for today. I'm taking this day to myself to just not do much and recover as I'm very bad at burning my candle at 2 ends.
Hope I didn't bore you and you learned something from me, if nothing else but to make sure to keep getting back up and remember to make time for your own self health. Maybe even encourage you to start your own cannabis photography hobbies....
Happy Grow Day friends!
