Hey Smeegol! Thank you I hope that it is! I took a sample about 7 days ago and it was certainly enjoyable. There was still a fair amount of clear trichomes at that time, so hopefully it’s even better.

Hey family, Im looking for a way to get into concentrates. I have checked Grandpa Tokins threads out and Im keen to build his nug press. Question I got is: There are so many options out there for ways to vaporize said concentrate. How do I choose what I need?
I anticipate making solvent-based extracts, namely everclear. I would like to eventually graduate to making the solventless concentrates too. Grandpa uses a solvent to get all the goodness out of his already pressed nugs. I like this workflow so I would need a way to consume both types.
I have everclear, propylene glycol, and vegetable glycerin. I also have some empty 510 thread cartridges.
I am also completely lost on todays technology mostly. Can anyone help me or point me in a direction that might get me there? I have no idea how to make the vape juice other than to evap off all the alcohol and mix it with the VG and PG. How much VG and PG per concentrate though? Are dab pens different from the 510 battery pens?

Ask @Grandpa Tokin or @TheMadDabber im sure they can point you in the right direction.
I can tell you that vg gives you your clouds and thickness and pg is your flavour .
Bit couldn’t tell you where to start that. themaddabber has some nice extraction methods as well. Granpa tokin and also Dutchmen has solventless press thread as well.
I’ll keep an eye open for sure going forward

I'd stray from PG or VG.... most these days are using MutiChain Triglycerides aka MTC aka coconut juice to dilute. the former options don't mix well and often the 2 contents will stratify or seperate...
A good trick is to also winterize the original solution. So you'd make your RSO style extract (with everclear like grandpa t) then instead of purging it all the way you'd purge most of the alcohol out. Add more everclear while still warm ish (to help the oil dissolve back into a super saturated solution with the alcohol) freeze it for 2 days and you should start to see fats and lipids separating from the solution. Filter through a coffee filter and then do a full purge. In theory that end product should be able to be directly inserted I to a cartridge. Should be.
No no no! Sorry on second thought I'm not thinking.... so you want to freeze your ethanol or alcohol (everclear) add your frozen weed. swish or swirl or soak (idk what tokin suggests) or a minute or whatever then strain through the coffee filter. Then just freeze that jar for 2 days and filter it at that point. That should give you a more clean product. Hopefully enough to vape straight. Worst case a little mct oil added will do the trick.

Sounds like I’m closer to figuring it out than I thought. @Grandpa Tokin recommends thirty seconds of swishing if I remember correctly but I get the idea. Keep it all frozen as possible, etc.
I successfully purged the everclear by putting it on a hot plate just as GT suggests and my concentrate looked pretty much like tar. This is decarbed herb though just to be clear, I suppose if I’m making extracts that isn’t necessary to decarb.
Sounds like I just need to mix it into a carrier oil and fill a cart eh?
Madd dabber you got any suggestions on a 510 thread battery? What about a concentrate pen? I hear good things about Dr. Dabber.
I checked out our sponsor, CCELL, and I like the palm but I’m hesitant because you can’t purchase direct. Maybe there’s a vape shop sponsor who sells it, I didn’t get that far.

Hey Joe! Yeah I saw mention of wax liquidizer on Grays journal a couple weeks back. Everything I found about it just seemed like a mix of vegetable glycerin and propylene glycol anyways so I just bought a bottle each from the rainforest site.

I can’t think of anything...except I don’t think I would like “tar”...LOL! Although, to be honest, I’ve not tried it either...on second thought...yeah, I’d probably hit it...

Haha well it started life as a green dragon tincture, I purged it to rid it of too much everclear, it purged down to a concentrate that resembles RSOI can’t think of anything...except I don’t think I would like “tar”...LOL! Although, to be honest, I’ve not tried it either...on second thought...yeah, I’d probably hit it...
