Crown Royal - First Grow

*day 7 of flower*
ive been battling high humidity the past of couple days because of the rains . im probably gping to get a dehumidifier this week if it continues.

I did a whole bunch of defoliation because i dont want wasted energy at the bottoms and it dropped my humidity levels about 10 percent too .

The girls are getting big amd loving the 7 gal pots .

heres pics upon awakening this morning.

i also had to raise the light another 4 inches again this morning .
I think they will be ready to feed wednesday .

Looking great bigbudz!! Sounds like a lot of us have been battling humidity lately. When I open the flower room in the mornings around 8 or 9 it's like 70% in there and 60-65 in the veg room.. I think I got my rooms backwards, will have to switch them up once my flowering plants are done in a couple weeks lol They will be able to handle 60-70% humidity though even in flower if you have adequate ventilation and fans. You are well on your way my friend :)

i usually wake up and look and it was at 70 for 2 days until i did the defoliation.
I have alot of ventilation going on , the AC, runs for most of the day depending on temps outside, i have on box fan inside the tent, intake, exhaust, plus another box fan i place outside of the tent to blow cool air in during the day . hopefully i dont get powdery mildew or mold or anything like that .

You should be fine then, air exchange is key and you have that! I have noticed some perspiration on some of my leaves in the veg room that have been touching one another but that's it so far, and it's getting crowded in there on their stand to keep them off the floor lol You got this!

TBH, you guys running high RH in bloom, I'd be concerned! To be on the safe side though, you should definitely Wash Your Buds with an RO/H2O2 mix 4:1 to kill any spores. Thankfully the process has been tested and tested and tested over the past few years and it will definitely clean up a harvest!

Edit - The process primarily involves washing in lemon juice mixed with baking soda, but the H2O2 bit is an option for PM or minor mold concerns.

You do make a solid point Skybound! And the bud washing method has been a big thing lately, does no harm to ensure your buds are clean from things that aren't good for us when we are trying to medicate to help with things that aren't good for us :)

On the other hand sometimes it's hard to deal with the humidity levels with limited resources and/or rainy weather. My flower room would normally sit around 55 to 60% but between the weather and not having an exhaust system I am limited to opening doors with fans on and getting air circulated that way to lower it. I also don't think my 1 x 15amp circuit to the room right now could run a dehumidifier with about 1200W already being pulled just in lights (seedling/veg/flower) plus 2 big fans and 2 small fans. I'd have to run an extension cord off another circuit in the house lol

Oh the plans I would have if I had some more money :) haha

I have seen this online, I guess if your tent/room was not sealed and filtered it would make sense and if your grow space was not planned out ahead and your are doing it on the fly, or you have had bugs and don't want to smoke bug shit...or if you have a lot of pets in the house because after 2 years of the ex moving out I still find cat hair balls showing up...seems cat hair has magnetic properties and accumulate where ever they want to!

I plan on getting a good high power lighted loupe 40X-80X so when harvest time comes I can see exactly what the buds look like before I wash the good stuff away:grinjoint:

ALL of the good stuff remain, and when I say all, I don't mean 100% of every single trichome. But others have filtered down their wash water just to see how many and the results came back, almost none. So maybe 50 trics out of 36,000,000,000 snapped off and got caught in the filter. Still when considering that our skin exfoliates constantly, hair, eye lashes, sweat, body hair, clothing, pet hair, little critters, their shit and God knows what else. Washing makes trimming way easier, the flavors are exponentially pronounced and washed buds do look way cleaner than unwashed. There's gotta be 500 people on that thread that will never again not wash a harvest for a reason, self included. Some have even sent washed and unwashed to the lab for analysis and the results are buried somewhere in that thread. Better yet, here is my wash at my last grow.

The only way I would was my buds is if I was sure there was PWM.

I agree, and that should be apparent if you are trying to keep your RH & plant environment in check...in the video I watched the guy had his plants out in the open so they were exposed to his environment and not in a filtered one.

I am just imagining all of the bug shit, bird shit, and every other shit I smoked back in the 70's 80's...I am still alive..so far!:lot-o-toke:

I just don't follow the rational. You don't want to smoke naturally occurring things that are in your environment every day. Instead feel more comfortable washing your plants with some man made chemical. That I don't care how good you wash will leave residue. Just seems like trading one for the other. I mean I have no real experience as I'm on my first grow. I also have done everything to guard against contamination. I grow in a sealed environment built just for growing. Never know though one day maybe I change my tune. I will most definitely watch your video. Have seen LEDRF do it as well with confirmed PWM just using water. Had it tested after and no mold present in the test at all. Although it did knock the heads off 80% of the tichromes which affected the smell and taste also the thc test.

I would want to see LEDRF's process to comment further on his results as others have also tested with no notable losses, but the whole rationale of it is that we are the major contaminant to our grow. My room is also sealed, but I still go in there and I'm certain "stuff" falls off me all the time. We also practice washing our veggies before we eat them, so the concept is the same. I hope for the sake of gaining more knowledge you read through a couple posts on that thread and if ya feel froggy, ask some questions at the end. I hate to use the words "trust me" on the web so I won't, but I want to really emphasize that many a grower before me have done this and many more after me as well. It's a very mild wash and by no means gets all the crap out.

I washed half my buds just as a test run--- no residue , and the clean buds dried evenly and taste fine - a lot of crap came off , and I will probably wash again in the future - as long as you have everything ready especially a tub or something to drip into lol
