Crown Royal - First Grow

Sorry man. Your logic is correct to remove what would otherwise become spindly bud that's only good for the trim pile, but this should be addressed in veg, or after the stretch in bloom. TBH, it's really best to do it in veg if you're growing photo stock, but as Old Timingman was getting at, stressful events in bloom can have adverse effects. FWIW, the sample I removed from my Bubblegum who is currently in flush had a seed in the first nug I ground up, so looks like we both have some bad news to deal with. At least you're still in the realm of possibility. If you don't have beneficials, I suggest getting some. That stuff really an apology elixir. I've seen that stuff make some pretty traumatic abuse be equaled to a grain of salt. A grower can never go wrong with a very happy root zone! CO2 in the canopy also might help.

you guys are making me worry that i may have sabotaged my grow .
I seen alot of people waiting until week 3 of flower to lollipop and they didn't have any problems.
keep your frickin fingers and toes crossed guys. we gotta get that 1 pound dry goal .
so i would need 3 pounds wet to 1 pound dry .
speaking of which , share some of your methods of drying and curing with me . Im thinking of using my tent to hang and a jar to cure after about a week hanging.

Also, that sample I'm now smoking weighed 15.8g wet on the stick and a whopping 3.6 dry after 4-5 days drying and sweating.

We all sabotage our grows, that's part of the learning curve. If anything bad comes of this, I promise, you'll never make that mistake again. Go easy on yourself because there's likely to be more to come and several after that.

The method I used in past grows is to chop, break the branches into smaller branches, wash everything and wisk the water out, trim wet, hang dry in open air for 3-5 days, put every branch into those long flat clear totes for under bed storage until all the buds redistribute the remaining moisture still in the buds back onto the previously dried bud. Once it's wet again, rehang in open air. A lot of growers hang theirs in their bloom areas, but the added RH heebs me out so I'm aiming to dry in a closet or a large cardboard box, but that's just me. The process is to dry, then sweat (in the tote) then dry then sweat. Actually, now that I think back, large paper bags were used for the first sweat phase. I'm still feeling out the process of optimal bud drying times because too fast is not good and too slow can be disastrous but when I learn it well enough, I plan to program it into an automatic bud dryer, like a humidor to a certain degree.

day 12 of flower
okay you all know that i lollipopped lastnight and gave them a very large feeding, some were at 2200 ppms and the other 2 at 1800. heres some pics of them this morning .

what beneficial bacteria product do you reccommend ?

I use recharge from realgrowers because it's mix and use, but there's also many compost tea recipes that make just as good of a product, but this usually entails a separate bubble bucket for 48-72 hours to mature the colonies.

Hey bigbudz!! Plants are actually looking great considering that big feeding you gave them :) I am quite surprised that they took that amount, good job, showing us how it's done lol!

I wouldn't say that you'll get to much stress from the lollipopping you did. A lot of times when this technique is done growers will take up to 2/3 of the lower growth off completely, looks like you only did about 1/3 maybe so there shouldn't be too much added stress. I do defoliation at week 3 of flower where needed and my plants don't mind it at all. Some strains are more susceptible to stress like this and others are very hardy and can take that kind of abuse. It's all in the timely genetic breeding process of picking phenotypes from a couple hundred plants :)

I myself cannot weigh in on the beneficial bacteria or anything. But what is this stuff made up of Skybound? Wouldn't that be something to mix into an organic grow? Just curious as to how all that stuff works with bottled hydro/soil less nutes? I would imagine it would work fine with bottled organic nutes though. I would think that with the lineup of nutrients that bigbudz has here from AN there would be something in there that would help aid the stress already. I am not familiar with AN's nutes though either lol

yes these girls love the abuse and im having so much fun as well .
Im already using beneficial bacteria, promix has mycohorrizea in it plus im using mammoth p along with sensizym . i should have some of the basics covered already .
i didnt want to mutilate my plants , just clean up the garbage .
i guess if i mess up now , ill live and learn .

Well there you go then, your plants should do just fine with that I would imagine. I figured your nute line would have something in it along those lines. I believe that's sort of the same with my FloraBlend, it's a vegan compost mix or something, I'd have to read the bottle again. Hard to keep up on them all when there's like 10 or 11 different bottles lol

Clean up the garbage you did my friend, and good job! That's pretty much what I would have clipped off them as well. Next time just try to do this part before the flower stretch so the plant has time to recover from the cuts. Then in your 3rd week of flower you can remove any big fan leaves that are blocking a lot of the light to lower budsites.

That's right, and everyone does things differently. Some things work well for some people while it may be disastrous to others.. it's all about what works for that person and if it doesn't, well you learned from a a mistake. But your plants are going to be fine :)

Mmmm, shatter... I haven't had any in a while now, just been ordering flowers lately at a wicked price!
So .. do you have a journal? It's not in your sig if you do :)

Yeah I sure do. Have no clue how to add to my sig have tried and read the directions a couple of times. I'm not so savvy when it comes to this sort of tech. Machinery is more up my ally social media tech is lost in my generation. I never had a cellphone until the iPhone came out.
Have seen you in other journals and you always have great advice. Would love to have you along on my journal. I'm just about to flip so it will be exciting.

**day 14 of flower**
My girls loved the big feeding i gave them last time , so ill be sticking between 1800 ppms for the 2 smaller plants and 2200 ppms for the 3 bigger ones.

I see some flowers and hairs starting to develop and im getting really excited!

The pots are still a little heavy today but i think theyll be ready on wednesday for another feast .
Ill keep an eye out , if i have to wait until saturday then thats fine too .

So i believe that cks has sent me some awesome genetics cause its been smooth the entire time except the small cal mag deficiency which was easy to correct .

heres some pics , enjoy !!@

Haha, yeah I know what that can be like, I am getting behind on technology as well.

I will for sure stop over here soon, will look it up and get my read on! lol

Good to see them plants so happy :) You're doing a great job my friend!

This is the time of the grow where you don't want to let the containers dry out to much. Unlike in veg when we should be waiting for signs of needing a drink (drooping leaves) in flower we don't want to do this, it will slow the bud production down. Now, I'm not saying to go watering 3 times a week if the pots are still moist lol If the top half of the container is dry and you think there may be a little moistness left in the bottom, this is the time to water/feed, not once you lift the container and realize oh shit, that's light! haha

CKS does have some good strains as well as some decent genetics. The customer service seems to be great as well. I have 8 different strains from them, some grew better than others mind you lol. The only thing I found with some of the strains is that they either look a lot different than the pictures on the website, or the look dam near bang on. I have also found out that some of the strains have multiple different phenotypes, so they must not have been bred back enough to get it down to a solid 1 or 2 pheno's .. oh well, still decent genetics, glad I tried them out.

Sounds good. As long as they aren't still fairly heavy you should be good. The plants will keep changing how much they drink as well as it grows and with the temp/humidity fluctuations.. Just keep an eye on them, I'm sure you'll do fine.

I got you my man!!! From your phone, open up web view(under the 3 dots at top right of screen) and sign in. Once signed in, at top right is a 'settings' drop menu beside your account menu. . From that menu, choose 'settings'.
Once the settings page opens, there will be a column on the left hand side of the page. About halfway down you should see a button that says edit signature. Actually, you'll see 'edit' all sorts of things. That's what you want. Paste a link to your journal there. Cheers!
