Crop King - We Will Do Better

Will it "hurt them to say f*** you order somewhere else"?

Seems like I remember reading reports that Marc Emery inferred to a customer that it wasn't smart to complain too much when that customer was in a place where cannabis, growing cannabis, and possessing cannabis seeds was illegal.

Just being told to take a hike seems somewhat more mild, lol. Maybe not the world's smartest business decision, but mild. I would consider such a situation to be, err, a voluntary cessation of the business relationship on both sides (because I'd never give my custom to someone who didn't appreciate it). It happens. Sometimes for a good reason, sometimes for NO good reason. Having been in the hot seat (no, not a cannabis seed business), I know that you try to minimize such things. But sooner or later it happens if you're in business long enough.

These kinds forums are good - in this regard - because it seems like everyone who has any kind of issue posts about it. But, in a way, they're not so good. I've seen occasions where things that happened 10+ years ago still get mentioned - and repeated by others as if they were there  - as if they happened last week. That can lead to people making assumptions that whatever things were like in the past - either good or bad - is what they are like RIGHT NOW. That's why threads like this always sadden me a little. They're pretty much part of history, will be here for the duration.

It's really kind of a messed-up industry, lol. An established breeder can have bad luck - or even a colossal f*ck up, for that matter - then come out of it having learned, hopefully improved... and still suffer for years because of what gets posted on forums. Meanwhile, a new breeder can throw up a nice website, pass out a bunch of freebies, and float around on goodwill, at least until the harvests come in. It's almost like there's a double-standard, somehow. And Breeder C takes a strain from Breeder A & a strain from Breeder B, crosses them, and gets credit for doing something wonderful. Meanwhile, not much is said about all the work that Breeders A & B did creating their strains in the first place. <SIGH>

Ya know, I had only bought seeds from Herbie's before this one CKS order and they had set the bar so high that anybody else was probably doomed to fail from the get go. When they stopped taking credit cards I felt I had to go someplace else but the problem was they had left some pretty big boots to fill. In hind sight, yeah I saved a few bucks but I guess I paid in the long run.

This was the point I was trying to make though. This is the small hole in the pocket! It would be a wise business decision to be more active here and try to have a better relationship with the community. My opinion was this: to address some of the issues going on here would be so simple. One guy placed an order and got half of it. New owner, old owner, doesn't matter the website is the same the name is the same. Are they responsible as the new owners? Yes! How could they not be? They own cks! Is it their fault? No! And I think this is the biggest problem with people who haven't read the whole post and who aren't familiar with the other thread on 420 that lead us here. Is it the new owners fault, no. Is it their fault if this thread keeps on going and going, hurting their business? Yes! That they can control. Make an appearance! Give us assurance that you, as the new skippers of cks, are not only looking into why people got half orders, wrong seeds, whatever, and that you will resolve the issue. Pop back into the thread where the old cks regime is calling their customers liars and thieves and apologize for the old cks asshole employee that had a shit day that day and call it done!

Show us the good faith and we'll show you the . as long as you promise to send beans! Idk why the whole hatred amongst certain groups of people between Canada and the USA. Some Canadians dislike our government.... well not for nothing some of us really hate our government as well. A customers money down here in the US is just as green up north.

I had beans all picked out from CKS and was disappointed that I just couldn't give them my business. I hope they do what they gotta to get the taint off their name because I'll be one of the first to place an order.

That's all now, really...

So Growchy Greenz let me see if I understand that correctly. You seem to be the BIGGEST complainer and instigator on this thread but yet you personally have not had any problems with Crop King Seeds? I've known people like this in the past. I avoid them.

If you bought a cow from a farmer for milk. Took the cow home and for 6 months she gave you milk but suddenly stopped. You go back to the farm only to find the old farmer sold the farm to a new farmer. You feel the new farmer is responsible for the cow not giving you milk now? Same farm, even still has the same farm name on the gate coming onto the property.

Sorry, but I just don't see the logic in your argument. You're just trying to be seen and keep things stirred up.

Maybe if you used a better analogy that applied it would be different maybe you'd see what other people see. A person like me who had NoT ordered from them yet can tell you why. A person who ordered in the past and has had problems will also tell you why they won't order from there again. I'm not complaining I'm making a point and giving cks a little insight on how to fix their hiccup and get people like me to buy from them. Isn't that the point of advertising?

I give them props for coming forward an apologizing AN letting us know what's been up an how they r fixing it.
Personally I've heard Iam sorry I'll do better way to many times. Proofs in the pudding. Cks I hope u do better in the future but until such time u have lost valued customers an until u prove to everyone ur actually trying to do better I for one will not buy from u.

To make a cow analogy, since you don't seem to understand how to make one that applies, here you go:

If you bought a cow from a farm and it was delivered but half of it was missing, and you called and emailed and called and emailed and they said f*** you and your cow, would you complain?

You go down, same farm, same name. Now keep in mind a cow is livestock, not a seed. How can you make a cow and a seed the same in an analogy? You can't!

Here's an analogy that applies:

You buy a company. This company is like a boat. Not to use a boat analogy again but it applies best to the point I want to make. You as the new owner of this boat find that the old owner let holes form in this boat and it is taking on water. What do you do? You fix the holes. Great so now it will stop taking on water. They did that, they are retraining their people, making some changes, vowing to be better. That's awesome! Now what about all that fkn water in the bottom of the boat. This water is the bad shit hanging over them. It's the people that are pissed for getting screwed by the old boat owner. They will sit on the forums and post. This will rot the hull.

So draining all that water out of the boat that's had its holes patched = sending out the rest of one guys order and retracting a nasty and untrue post that someone else posted representing THEM. If you've got any more awesome analogies to make please do. Again I am not complaining, this is a discussion and I do believe I am showing some faith in them, and some encouragement to do the right thing with some of my statements. I won't bother to quote them for you.

Thanks for making my point for me. You just love to hear yourself talk. In this case read your profound (in your mind) writing.

You don't want to buy from Crop King Seeds. I mean MY GOD, how many times can you say it till it's beating a dead horse?

And to be clear once again. I have never purchased from Crop King. I am neither arguing for them or against them. I am stating that reading virtually the same complaints OVER AND OVER again has, for me, gotten old. And reading complaints about Crop King from someone like me who has NO personal experience with said company tells me a lot about that person.

I have an ex wife from many many years ago. She was the type that would literally die if she didn't get in the last word. Since I've had my say about legitimate complaint wannabees involving themselves in a stale argument give it some thought and get your last word in.

Sorry if I sounded condescending toward you that was not my intention. I don't know why you are here, but you as a 420 member have my respect. I too have a wife like that but whatever it is what it is. Not trying to make the same point over and over but I really don't know how you see that as a positive thing for them. They need better PR to deal with this situation. If this is what it takes to keep a massive company in line then I, as a responsible 420 member, will do what I feel necessary to defend others from it or at least let it be known. Why is my point of view, as a non cks (but potential) customer invalid? Don't they want my business too? And yours? And whoever else has read this, or will in the future, that has never bought from them but might?

CKS clearly needs to improve their business ethic, plain and simple. It's just common sense, doesn't take a business degree to figure that one out, and I don't see why anyone would argue against it. Usually business ethics come from personal ethics and I can take a good guess at what the personal ethic$ of the former management were. No idea what makes the current management tick, because so far they haven't done anything than make a generic statement and leave again. We will see.

The king has mistakes we have mistakes he fixes them as they come an argues the case an Lisa is a boss at it I was told dnt buy autos so I dnt an I will buy more seeds when I have enough bread

Did they give a reason not to buy the autos..Just curious b/c I just got some not too long ago

I have three (3) Northern Light autos growing from CKS....all healthy and 3/3 germinated. I grow both autos and photos...mainly because Maine law "only" allows an individual to possess six (6) flowering plants at once. I started one NLA on March 1 (from seed) and it probably will be ready in 10-20 days. The other two started April 15 and hopefully (with stronger/longer sun in June & July) they should be done a little sooner (90 days maybe?). Regardless, quicker than the photos which will be in October. CKS did right by me (twice) and I would use them again.

Ok cool. I had about half of mine not germinate the first time but I called them and they sent me out another entire order plus extras so they've done right by me too. I'm glad to hear yours are doing good b/c just starting some of mine but was wondering why they told him not to buy the autos--wonder if they've been having issues with certain strains/ b/c like I said the first time half didn't germ and I haven't even attempted the new ones yet

I find it hard to believe that IF they had autoflowering seeds listed in their menu they would be advising people not to buy them. They obviously speak in person to only a small percentage of their buyers which I believe would be the minority. So who would tell the majority not to buy autos?

Seems like CKS just posted and bounced. If you get rude emails try someone else. There plenty of vendors, cheaper than this guy. MSNL is one of them, whom I trust more. Cheers!

I have similar beliefs...seems a little too odd
