Crop King - We Will Do Better

I think blaming the new CKS regime for a poorly run company by the previous owners is like blaming Jimmy Carter for Vietnam.

And I do want to be perfectly clear. I feel terrible for anyone and everyone who was poorly treated in any way by the previous CKS staff whether they are from this site, or a Joe Blow from Idaho having nothing to do with this site.

The new owners were not responsible and should be able to start with a clean slate. But that is just my humble opinion.

Agreed

They should change the name then. They purchased a working machine that is cks. They aren't being blamed for past crappy service. Just keeping an eye on em to see what they do with the problems that came with what they purchased. The rep won't change overnight because it sold. Only they can change it! I'm sure they will do the right thing because they now ARE cks and it came with baggage lol

Above was my closing argument. No more to say on this matter.

similar experience with CKS Blueberry... the genetics were VERY poor. After 10 seeds 6 actually were viable, 3 were not what they were supposed to be (2 female and 1 Hermie of unknown origin) and 3 others were male. leaves looked warpy and unhealthy.
My Rene CBD seeds looked far healthier and grew at a much faster pace and were 1/2 the price of the CKS blueberry ($35 for 10 seeds)

I hope the new owners didn't pay too much for goodwill

I'm currently doing a little work for a guy that has done the same thing for 37 years as of this past March. He told me he has never - ever - advertised his business in any venue. ALL of his customers come via word of mouth. As far as I can tell, the guy is eating pretty good ;) .

Since goodwill is PRICELESS, I would say that, whatever it costs... it is a bargain.

To be fair, that kind of reminds me of the original Blueberry strain, way back when :rolleyes3 . Wasn't exactly the easiest strain I ever... babysat.

I have a few CK mixed auto-flowering seeds. Had more, but I tried germinating some of them. I didn't get them directly from the company, though - they were a gift from a private individual (who may have gotten them from someone else, who may have...) . Since I do not know how they were stored, I cannot blame the seedbank (and do not... who knows?). At this point in time, I still have some hope. Haven't grown a "modern" auto-flowering cannabis plant before. Thought it would be interesting to play with a few. Maybe stick one in my elderly mother's vegetable garden. If it lived, she would ask me WtF it was - and I could reply, "IDK, but why don't you cut it up, simmer it in butter, strain the chunks out, cook with it, and eat it when the pain that your doctor offered you enough opiates to pole-ax a mule (and you declined) causes you to hurt so bad that you can't stand up. I guess I'm still hopeful of that; time to try germinating the last three....

I had the same experience with their Blue Berry seeds..... only 4 of 8 germed, and only one of those look respectable.
We won't talk about the warranty conversation:tokin:

I feel the need to chime in as well. I ordered from here (the autofem mix pack) earlier this month on the 8th. First time ever ordering online and had several questions/reservations about it all until I live chatted with someone whom talked me through it completely. The seeds arrived at my house (US) on the 12th. Firstly I couldn't believe how fast the order got here with no probs so that was a plus. I read the threads on here about how bad the company was and got concerned waiting on my order. Unfortunately, half the seeds failed to germinate so of course I was even more concerned I just got burned. I emailed the company explaining the situation and they sent an email back informing me to give them a call. I called and spoke to a woman named Alana whom also was very friendly and helpful. I documented everything from the seeds arriving with pictures, to the germination methods they want us to use with pictures, to the failed seeds with pictures.

I told Alana half didn't germinate and said I'd send proof if needed and not only did she say it wasn't necessary but apologized and was the most friendly person I think I've dealt with. She said she would note the account to send out more seeds and also note the account that I would get a tracking number as well--all this free of charge of course. The seeds came 6 days later (US) and they didn't just replace the seeds that didn't germ which is all I wanted really (and assumed thats all theyd send anyway) but I got another full order plus 3 extra seeds. I read through every thread with people not being treated properly and I want to say that whomever wrote this thread on behalf of CropKings is entirely correct as I had zero issues and got bad seeds replaced immediately.

I have no idea who the previous owners are but the new owners are here for customer service--at least everyone I dealt with so I'd give them another chance if I were you guys. I have nothing to gain from this by the way as like I said all this is new to me but I had no problems with the live chat, emails, or phone calls. If in doubt give them a call and ask for Alana..she took care of me and Im sure she will do the same for anyone else.....So firstly respect for owning up the probs CKS, and secondly thanks for taking care of me at least--I will definitely be back. That's good that they are trying to improve things. It sounds like their customer service has improved.
My first impression though will last until I see more + reviews from their customers.
The fiasco over the CKS blueberry last year had a CKS customer service rep. insisting I didn't know what I was doing. I reminded him of my background in horticulture and that knew about numerous planting methodologies. ( I propagate rare plants from seed from different countries as a hobby and sell them)
He was quite offhand and trying to get out of replacing the seeds as much as possible!
Finally he gave in and sent me some replacements... They were equally as horrible.

Out 5 stars they get a -10 score from me. :(

You wonder why they get threatening emails and harassment from people?
No bloody wonder.

Yea man I've been in customer service my entire life and have dealt with just all around know it all @ssholes on a daily basis. I can't speak for the many people it seems to have issues with the company b/c word of mouth spreads fast and will destroy a business. All I know is that it was one of the best experiences I've had especially with it being my first even ordering seeds. I wouldn't write them off just yet but I can understand if you've been done wrong too many times to wanna give it another shot. I can't speak for the quality yet as I'm just now really getting some sprouted but based on my personal experience I'll def be giving them some credit. Its requires respect to take responsibility for people getting messed over and its a positive sign things are about to change. I guess I came in while the good change is taking place..Hopefully you will have better luck in the future

Again, I'm glad you have seen a change in their track record. This change will have to be consistent for me to change my mind.
I am flexible in my thinking and would give them another shot ONLY and only once I see more evidence they have truly changed their tune.

Well I hope to hear more great reports from people such as yourself,
and once I see more of these I might just try them again.

I think that's a better attitude to have rather than completely shutting them out.

What do you think?

Yep dude I definitely agree. I'm just a single person with a single story. I'd wait too if I were you honestly based on what I've read from people getting burned. The comment right after mine the dude already seems extra salty about the entire situation, unable to realize its the individual people that make a company good again. But to each his own ya know, if you don't like them go elsewhere everybody is grown and capable of making their own decisions. I'd just give them a call if you got messed over, no matter when it was, just to see for yourself..you never know, maybe they'll take care of you now.
