Critical Kush Guerrilla Garden

Good morning urrrrbody, hope you are all doing well and feeling as high as a giraffe's eye ;)

FIM'd 5 of the 6 bubbas this morning about 5am. Just had a quick check and again (probably a bit early to tell but I got that weekend feeling) that the procedure went ok without too much stress for the bubbas

I left the little one, the tiniest smudge of a third node had appeared but I've already made my choice to leave this one as natural as possible then to lollipop and defoliate it towards the end. All the while putting it through its paces by leaving it right next to the intake.

I salute this brave little plant, I promise I'll get you there buddy :)

Will update with some pics later on. Double coffee a la Natural Spirit now ;)

The little'un has the white monitor on its pot. Not for any reason, just letting you know that's the little'un. No FIM for him although the other 5 went through it this morning. It was a clean 1st round of FIM for the those guys, seemed to have responded well to it but will know more come morning.

I'll be having a small break from 420 for a few days. I will be gardening still so will load what's going to happen over the next few days in when I return.

Stay lucky everyone, see you soon :)

Looking good Joe! Can I have a close up of one of your fim jobs . sorry it sounds bad! Lol I'm just curious to see how everyone does theirs? Why do you prefer fim to topping? Again curious and eager to learn. I hope things are well, great updates and I love your stories.

Subbed, looking good! Enjoy your break man, I'll be looking forward to the update when you return

Thanks for the update! See you when you return.

Thank you P, I'll try my utmost to make sure it was worth subbing, I feel nothing but good vibes from the garden and fellow Dank and Stinky Appreciation Society already here :) I appreciate it, thanks again mate

And dom2mac, thank you, it means a lot and hopefully will be back with a bang. Good luck with your final, will be rooting for you buddy (root pun intended ;)

I have just sat down after running around all day. I'm f***** tbh and can't be bothered.......

I'm only joking newty, that would be evil. I thank you for taking an interest. I'll mosey on up to the garden now and take a pic ;)

This is from the plant in the top left of the group pics. Don't know if it's scientific but if I see the black 'dots' where I've pinched later on then it's got a good chance of being a successful FIM (I prefer GTF. Got The F*****, it's usually my yell of joy if I get a pinch right ;)

This is the same plant, but this is basically how I try to ensure I get the middle of the shoot rather than the leaves around it. I don't use tweezers or scissors, just wash my hands in plain ph'd water and then thumb and forefinger while the other hand spreads the leaves.

We've been taught through a 'listen, watch and now you' method. My hands were all over the place as I twitched towards it. I plucked rather than pinched and ended up performing a very crude top instead.

The jitters haven't disappeared, don't think they ever will but that's what keeps us gardeners on our toes ;)

I don't have anything against topping, I like to have a bit of a wild garden. Once I've FIMd (GTFd) again in a week or so (depending on growth) I leave them alone. If some are looking shorter than others I leave them alone except for a light prune of the excess leaves during flowering.

The taller ones I lollipop, trying to get a spread that's more or less even. But even then I'm happy to let it go and have taller plants than others. I like the 'synthetic yet natural' theme in the tent. Again I'm not a scientist, I'm going on superstition and what the crow on my shoulder tells me ;)

But I like the idea of a little bit of 'survival of the fittest'. I've never conformed in my life so its only natural the bubbas won't either. I end up thinking they have personalities by the end of the grow.

It's nice at the end of the grow to notice subtle differences in potency or flavour. Very subtle but I think they are there....might just be me!!!

Hahaha the double coffee is something special for Sure! Not the Senseo or nespresso kind of fakes... old fashion filter coffee and mugs No cups lol!

Cant wait for the pics Joe! The night works are really something I can relate to.

Sorry newty forgot to include this one. The new shoot had come just past the third nodule when I pinched. It could have been my tendency to be impulsive and over keen to jump into things but I think pinching the shoot just as it passes the third nodule has seen more success in getting a successful FIM (GTF) than leaving it a few days longer.

Hope this has been helpful :)

What do you do with your plants?

What do you do with your plants?

So you top after the 3rd node? The reason I ask is because I accidentally pulled too much at the 4th node (fat fingers) and essentially topped after the 3rd. I have been worried that I just wrecked it.

Hello mate how are you? I think it's ok to go between the 3rd and 5th, the lower down you start, the wider the plant gets?

It helps me as during the flowering stretch the HPS can make the bubbas a bit height hungry. I don't like to tie them down or supercrop them as can happen if they get too close to the light. I thought this was a last ditch tactic to save the plants being burnt but after a chat with another helpful 420 member found that it is used as a way to expose more bud sites.

I think you'll be ok, was you trying to top the plant or FIM it? Don't think it matters either way but if you was trying to FIM the new shoot at the 4th node and pulled a bit too much off, the outcome is a topped third node and not a FIMd one

Your plants can handle Some messup.. with topping you create Two main stems in stead of one and with fimming is mostly 3 and I think(not Sure) that there Could be more then Two. Fimming stand for f*** I missed when then topped they Did not got rid of the whole Bud and fimming was created :D I try to do both on Two the same strain plants.. then you see How they Will react :)

Anyway your plants can handle Some mis treatment to them ^^

I was trying to top, probably a bit eager and should have waited a day... oh well, live you learn. Thanks for the info!

You've made the best start in the world by giving it a go. And I think you'll be ok with the 24 hour time frame. Take notes and leave it a day next time and find out what works best for you :)
