All caught up Joe, such a fun an entertaining journal. I can tell you are a kind man .
I saw at the beginning that you transplanted because of stretchy seedlings . my seedling were stretchy and I just tuck their stems into the medium a half inch or so and they were fine just a thought, easier than transplant maybe .
The girls look nice and healthy!
Haha I can relate to your paranoid family, my dad is pretty old school
Have a good night....
That's very kind of you to say, I really appreciate it
Thank you for the pointer on the stretching. Unfortunately (or fortunately) I don't follow the rules of starting off in cubes on their own.
I do all the usual prep and then when it comes to putting the seed in the rockwool/peat cube, I basically pot it there and then and put a thin layer of soil over the top. I don't think I'd be able to poke it down without snapping it
Don't know if it's scientifically true regarding the method but my thinking has always been natural selection and survival of the fittest. If they can make it out if that first bit I've made slightly harder then it should stand them in good stead for any troubles later on, the first repotting was after 4 days so maybe there's a method in the madness?
Thanks for going through it all, hopefully we've got a lot more to show here.
Will keep on drooling over the cakes you make too
