Critical Kush Guerrilla Garden

Did you happen to get a photo of the roots?

My girl is catching up, I can see the sprout of the 4 smaller leafs that make up the first set of tri fan leaves. They grow up soo fast!

:circle-of-love:

No, the less time in the air and light the better when you're transplanting exposed roots.

I'm happy I did it at the time I did. Anymore in that pot and it wouldn't have done them any good.

On the chunky one I circled in red in an earlier pic, I was able to lift out the whole 20 gallon lump of soil by the base of the plant. Roots are the most important part of growing and 9/10 problems seen up top are because of what's happening down below.

I regularly check my run off water, today especially with the new pots. If my feed is going through too quickly the plants aren't getting enough water. Too long and they're being saturated.

Mate....

Just remembered what you're studying. You don't need me to tell you this!!!!!

Nah my main interest is in human biology and medicine, botany is new to me but there is a lot of crossover especially on the chemical and cellular level. Science aside, I have learned more from anecdotal information and practice than anything ive learned in school over the past 37 years. The education only gives you the base knowledge you need to practice your craft the rest is up to imagination and experimentation.

Haha no worries in that case I'll carry on....

So if I do start to see problems I go from a 'bottom to top' approach to find out what the problem is.

But more often than not it's the roots.

So flushing the plant when you see yellowing leaves or burnt edges (nutrient burn) helps to hopefully rejuvenate the roots back to a level where they are working.

Tbh nearly all of my problems have come from the roots. Light and wind have had effects but can be rectified immediately by moving them. Roots are a bit different so need to be taken special care of :)

Very Jerome Bruner. It is better to know the basic principle of how a thing works, rather than a million facts about what it does ;)

I've read it back and it seems like the opposite of what you said!

Book smarts don't translate into gardening knowledge. We always got taught and teach like this.

Show one. Do one. Now you.

I've seen so many people try growing after reading untold amounts on the internet. I tested my pal who has an encyclopaedic knowledge of weed but hasn't done a grow in his life.

He flopped. He couldn't explain what was happening as he had 30 different theories going through his head (none that he has ever experienced), couldn't tell me what possible causes, how we might rule out other problems and basically how to save the plant.

I read a lot later on and it improved my growing insanely. But I had had 8 years on the ground experience going through the s***

I think that is an education, as it is in many aspects in life. One can only learn by making mistakes and being tough enough to know when one was wrong but can still strong enough to get back up and jump into the fray

I am bitter you lot over the pond don't have the worries we have with gardening. Our growing cultures and accompanying etiquette are completely different. It is a war here whilst you're all such a friendly bunch :)

All good in the hood mate, checking the bubbas every half hour. Not counting any chickens yet but still got them good vibes :)

Good to hear buddy .

Don't know if this is too much but after seeing the roots during the repotting earlier I was worried about them drying out in the bigger pots. Just ph'd water and 2ml of Rhizotonic root stimulant. This is lower than the recommended dose but I made a mistake four years ago and it's got me better results since ;)

I gave each plant 20mls of that dripped around about an inch away from the stem, then gave a few more squirts than normal with the atomiser (also has the root stimulant in it) trying to get the topsoil more than the plant.

I didn't want to overwater at this stage or indeed underwater either so went with this. It's served me well before and I hope it does again. Got an hour and fifty mins before "lights out" so will know for definite in the morning :)

Stay lucky everybody

They look totally healthy bro sure you've got nothing to worry about. Unless the strain your growing is very delicate.

I had to repot mine 2-weeks into flower . they've been totally fine tho. They like kelp seaweed is great for them dealing with stress, so I feed my girls some I got from the hydro shop for a few days and haven't seen 1 sign of stress.

Don't know what the run off will be like with these pots until I water properly. Won't be doing that until I'm happy the roots have taken.

Also got a bag of gravel to put under my pots. Helps to get a bit of air flow and escape for water when the proper feeding starts.

Should have done it earlier when I repotted but left it in the boot (trunk) and only remembered it when I was taking the pics.

They've have enough aggravation from me today. Will make use of said gravel another day

I've repotted in flower before, didn't plan it but you'll be surprised at the results. THC is a defence mechanism. I'm evil to mine during flowering. Secret recipe mate ;)

Haha I'm hoping THC won't be too high (pun intended) as I'll be asleep constantly. Although that's sort of the idea . I was worried stupid over it, but they've been totally fine. Won't happen next time as I'll know they need bigger pots way beforehand!

When they where seedlings tho I did what you've just done when I planted them, and worked really well.

Not all places here in the US are equal. I am in a state where it is medically legal in three surrounding states, but the one im living in its VERY bad to be caught growing.

Does that make your black market price go through the roof? Or is it close enough that people just go across state to get weed?

I'm familiar with the geography of your country so know it might not be as easy as driving to a legal state (might be a 5 hour drive?)

What has weed being made legal done for you as a grower (don't know whether you're personal or commercial) and as a smoker over there?

20 years in this game, 10 years as a gardener. Legislation genuinely p**** me off.

Stoner rich kids with beanie hats and bad facial hair, the know it alls of cannabis. Not one grow under their belt but once it's legal and they can grow it on mummy and daddies money, safely without the normal, everyday aggravation I've faced for 20 years, they become the experts and thrive off of a new market economy funded by years of interbreeding and old boy ties.

Over here. This is our world. And it's staying that way.

I'm planning for the legislation to change here. Have been for the last two years so as soon as the nod gets given we put our foot in the door and tell every other "Johnny Come Lately, Never Done A Grow But Like The Idea of Growing Weed" to BACK THE F*** UP THIS IS OUR DOOR .

At the end of the day, we all know why we're doing this. We congratulate each other and genuinely want to see some nice buds and ingenious ways of getting them.

But it's a business. And if you've got better bud than the other guy and have done consistently for a long time, why should anything change?

Er politics and rules set by governments of course

They'll try to force us out because we're from the wrong part of a city, every generation has struggled and survived with a little help from extra curricular activities (think Southie in Boston and you're close)

It will be another example of the growing divide between rich and poor. It's the poor (sort of ;) who grow the weed here, not the toffs. But come legislation every Hugh Grant lookalike will be blundering around a grow tent being "terribly sorry"

Rant over ;)

Just wanted to see how you felt

.

I'd like to put the above images from my last grow as a benchmark that I'd like to exceed this time round. I hope it also stirs up the bud-lust in those who are currently subbed and those who may hopefully join in the coming weeks.

I say this without a hint of pride but with heavy undertones of humility, respect, the desire to persevere and to ultimately succeed. Hard work pays off and it is never more true in 'our' world of gardening.

Due to an incident that occurred that affected a family very close to me last week, I have made a decision. All of my leftover trim, cuttings, leaves and any other viable matter that can be utilised will be, in order to make CBD/THC capsules for those who need it. For free.

I've seen first hand how these capsules have greatly changed the outcomes of many illnesses that have affected the majority of us.

Yet it seems that unscrupulous characters are ripping people off when they could be saving a life. How can someone profit from that?

To me, cannabis brings the world together. The notion probably resonates with a good 99.9% of users and readers here.

I've got the best vibes about this current gardening adventure and I hope you can send some bud-love too. I've estimated I can make a couple of months worth of capsules out of it.

Helping someone not go through pain is probably the only high that's better than a joint.

Peace and love, stay lucky

Joe the Chro

Got a few more people subbed now, want to get this message out!

All caught up Joe, such a fun an entertaining journal. I can tell you are a kind man .

I saw at the beginning that you transplanted because of stretchy seedlings . my seedling were stretchy and I just tuck their stems into the medium a half inch or so and they were fine;) just a thought, easier than transplant maybe .

The girls look nice and healthy!

Haha I can relate to your paranoid family, my dad is pretty old school;)

Have a good night.✌️...
