Creating Female Seeds Using Colloidal Silver - With High Brix

That's a lot of pollen. Well done HH. Do you not have a recipient ready for it yet?

Hey Gov

just my Widow Querkle a few posts back.
She is peak clear going cloudy now, but I'm gonna let her go to mature them seeds.

pollen is stored in the fridge waiting for the next female

HH, congratulations on the pollen! Is it ok to store fresh pollen like that in a closed container without drying it properly? cant it develop mold?

Good point :yikes: It can handle different humidity levels and even get wet for a short period, but try to get it as dry as possible without heat or desiccant. Mine's usually packed while the room is at an RH of 50-60%. Vacuum sealed and stored with my seed collection which as a desiccant bag in the main container. I've never had pollen mold or mildew but I bet it could. When mine goes bad it usually turns orangish or brownish. Probably bacteria hard at work.

Good lord I just took a hit of Ava and I've never had to do so much editing

Here's an early sample of the next Ava' taken yesterday. Still wet. The seeds are pretty dang close to being done though. I'm giving it a few more days to see if the milky glands will amber a little. Looks like everything is going to time out fairly evenly.

I had the tops/pods setting out to dry for ten days. Then today when I crushed them up they were not wet at all.
I put them in a big zip loc and shook it and then scraped the sides of the bag.

Then into a seal a meal and in a tube in the fridge.
Do you think I should take it out and let it dry some more?

I have heard about adding some flour to help it dry and thin out the pollen a bit?

I am a little happy to find out I made a mistake reading my records and the plant I used the CS on wasn't a 25th gen clone, it was a seed plant from seeds I made with the 10th generation of the same WW.

I thought the 24th gen I just grew was a little weak for my WW it was only grade A not AAA.
maybe it has degraded if there is such a thing.
Or it could have been the 3gl bottom feed only pot I was trying.

Maybe genes from generation 10 are a little less degraded?
Either way I will have plenty of seeds that will contain 75% WW genes.

disappointing news is I found no seeds at all on the CS treated WW donor and I only sprayed half of her.
I thought she might have selfed a few seeds with all the pollen there was.

24th generation is pretty high. I think the highest generation currently in my arsenal is 12 soon to be 13. I bet it was the pot and watering technique more than anything though. If she doesn't perform under better conditions you may want to consider a back cross or finding a stud male.

ive never tried the flour...and if the flour isn't dried...:) IDK IMO, its inviting other variables that can go wrong. :Namaste:

re: seeds on the WW..they may still be there..deep in the buds..:thumb:

Or just try to put a couple clones outside for a few hours each day if possible to harden them up and reinvigorate them. Plants really shouldn't degrade through generations...that's a misnomer. However, they CAN lose vigor (often mistaken for genetic degradation). Try to find a way to reinvigorate them and harden them a little and the vigor should bounce right back into them.

I wish.

I have already crushed them up when I did the pollen thing, zero seeds.

I've tried taking cuttings and went straight to 12/12 and spraying with CS for fem beans and it was hit or miss. They all converted to male but I had some clones that had pollen sacs everywhere with no pollen and some had very little pollen. None seemed to open up on there own. My last run I let them get well rooted (roughly 10 days) before flipping to 12/12 and all my clones that were sprayed with CS solution produced pollen along with hundreds of seeds :)

Thanks! I was thinking it would be best to let them get a little bigger. I've noticed a few people have had problems getting sacks but no pollen, kind of interesting. I guess not a lot is known about growing for pollen, so maybe there's some level of maturity that needs to be reached.

hi guys I was wondering if I sprayed my dark devil auto fem plant with cs how old shud I let it get b4 I start to use the cs and will it create auto fem seeds or will they be auto regulars?? also for my photo fem plants if I sprayed one of those wud the seeds come back as regular or fem and when is a good time to start spraying photo fem plants with cs??

So I have a new plan for making my own seeds. I'd like your input if you have some time.

I have a tent I use for autos currently. My plan is to stop the autos for a bit and start 5 seeds, so that I can reverse the one I'll stick in the middle of the other 4 females. I'd like to make 1 plant the same as the reverse plant to keep those genetics going. But i'd also like to use the other 3 to create crosses using other fem strains.

My question is could I mix autos along with photos to get seeded? I know the autos may still turn out photo If I reverse a photo, but my main question is what would be the best way to go timing wise. Do I start all the seeds at the same time? Or would it be something like I start the 4 female host plants first and then the reverse plant a week or 2 after? Do you know if the autos need more or less time than the photo hosts?
I just have a handful of seeds of strains i'll never be able to get again. So I'd like to skip as many errors as possible Thanks!
