Crawdaddy's First Grow in 10+ Years Greenhouse/Soil - 2013

Re: Crawdaddy's First Grow in 10+ Years Greenhouse/Soil -2013

Hey cajun, What is Ecrevisse? Creole or something?
Creole? Nah bro, just Cajun here. Ecrevisse is Acadien (Cajun) for crawfish. Crawdads for our yankee friends.

Good news, It appears as if the burnt leaves are not progressing anymore. Now just need to dry out and start using 1/2 str. ferts.

Going to be good weekend for soil to dry out, warm, sunny and low humidity here.

Re: Crawdaddy's First Grow in 10+ Years Greenhouse/Soil -2013

So here is my weekly picture update. they not looking to bad considering what I did to them. But not as good as last week. Some frostyness showing up and you can see many of the good insect friends. Some plants are showing the damage from the sludge from Sledgehammer more then others. But as I said before seems to have stopped getting worse. Now I just have burnt looking plants. O well lesson learned and hope it does not ruin my yield too much. Wishing the buds would plump up more but maybe to early for that.

Anyhow here are the pics...

Looking real good, glad they recovered from the sprays, very nice shot with the praying mantis - that thing is also getting pretty damn big, probably going on a feeding spree now that there are ladybugs wadling around. Flowers looking nice and frosty too.

Groovy update, loved the praying mantis pic.
Cheers :cheer:

Re: Crawdaddy's First Grow in 10+ Years Greenhouse/Soil -2013

looks like theyre growing back already. they'll like a lot of fresh water till they heal.. maybe a very light ec if you feel like you need to feed them via roots

I doubt itll effect yield. they barely dropped any leaves

sledgehammer goes in soil yeah?

Yep by instructions 2 tsp per gallon and use twice the amount of water for normal feeding. But apparently they failed to mention the part of washing it all out after u use it.

And I probably going to feed 1/2 strength tomorrow. So hot today bet they dry out good.

Re: Crawdaddy's First Grow in 10+ Years Greenhouse/Soil -2013

Just gave the ladies their first feeding since the debacle last weekend. Hopefully they be ok, I think so. It is about 1/2 strength from the FF feeding schedule, 1 gallon of water per plant with this in each gallon:

2 tsp Big Bloom
1 tsp Grow Big
1 Tsp Tiger Bloom
1/2 tsp Boomerang
1/8 tsp Beastie Bloomz
Plus 2 drops SuperThrive

Crossing my fingers :)

Re: Crawdaddy's First Grow in 10+ Years Greenhouse/Soil -2013

Well more bad news, just as I thought plants where recovering.....

Went out to inspect plants and remove yellow/dead leaves and I noticed one of my plants had a little webbing on it. On closer inspection realized it was the beginnings of a full on spider mite webbing, I HATE THE LITTLE BUGGERS! SO I think it is recoverable, did not see any mites on buds themselves yet. So I busted out the SM-90 and gave ALL the plants a REAL good soaking. I guess the ladybugs are not doing a good enough job. Not sure if the SM-90 will kill them too, but I am declaring ALL OUT WAR on the spider mites. I am going to follow directions and give a REAL good soaking 2 more times every 2 days. That should end my window of use as buds mature.

I HATE SPIDER MITES WITH A PASSION GRRRRR!!!!!

Going to check the one badly infested plant daily, and if any more webbing, it may get chopped.

Re: Crawdaddy's First Grow in 10+ Years Greenhouse/Soil -2013

I am sorry to hear about the mites. If they come back the best thing I have heard of are predator mites. I really like the mantids too, I hope they/it are/is okay!

Well I saw a few ladybugs still crawling around today while home on lunch break. So if they can make it through the SM-90 hopefully the Mantis can. I am going to call the SM-90 maker and ask if it should kill ladybugs, if they say yes then I am wondering if it getting the mites. Going to check with jewelers loop when I get home to see if the little bastards are still moving too.
